I've just done this on my S40, it's a bit awkward but absolutely doable. The lower bolt is blind but it has a clear path past the manifold so just use a straight extension of the right length. Also, slip your middle finger under the thermostat from the left to feel the bolt and 'point' the socket onto it.
@@reinerstoff2321 a big job then. My issue is that temperature gauge is one line before normal temperature when needle is on center top. When normal driving. Creeps up to center when going a bit more slow in traffic and such. Dont know what causing that. In summer the needle can lower even a little bit more. Temperature sensor faulty? Thermostat not open/closing correctly? Issues with glycol/antifreeze? Radiator fan maybe cooling down engine to much? Suggestions?
@@cransaftvalve734 me neither, thinking of changing mine myself and maybe with a friend.. i think its too expensive to leave the job to a service center for this easy job. but i have not seen any good video about how to replace/change it. On this specific engine. I need to replace the coolant also anyway.. flush the radiator at least. Please let me know if you change the thermostat and house.
Gut das das Video auch bei Fords funktioniert

I dont understand Deutsch. Was it easy to remove the thermostat? Do i need to replace the whole house? Or can i just replace the thermostat?
Yes you need to replace the whole house. It is one piece.

@@reinerstoff2321 How to remove the screws? You doesnt show how you do.
Did you ever find out what the problem was? Mine is doing the same
@@user-eo2wv7kx6t yes, replaced thermostat and temperature sensor.
How could you reach those 3 screws? Did you take off some more parts to be able to take off those three screws?
What about purge the system, some screw to bleed air?: Was ist mit dem System zu spülen, einige Schrauben, um Luft abzulassen?
As far as I know the system does not need to be vented.
