Angela Bassett on A Man Called Hawk (1989) - S01E01 - Masters Mirror
Angela did a phenomenal job ❤❤❤❤❤R.I.P to the greatest legend ever known Tina Turner
🌟LEGEND🌟 meeting 🌟LEGEND🌟!!!!!
I was a Special events and club DJ and back in the 80's. I was loading out my equipment at a hotel freight elevator in the parking garage. On my last trip going back in, the elevator doors opened and there was Tina. She was kinda a short thing compared to the two bodyguards on the left and right of her. I recognized her immediately but did not say a word. They exited and I entered. Very memorable. She was playing in Tampa.
This lady doesn't age!!!❤❤❤
I love Angela Bassett❤
Yeasss
She's simply the best
Funny, Tina said she never saw the movie. In fact, what she said was something to the affect of, "I don't need to see it, I lived it."
There were laws put into place that made it almost impossible for slaves to go live in other states because post-civil war, states id==didn't want an influx of newly freed black people in their states.
Because of that movie I grew up thinking Angela WAS Tina Turner! 🤩
WHO WAS THAT UBER HANDSOME MAN SITTING IN THAT CHAIR!!!! ❤ He had a full head of hair, large beautiful soulful eyes, smooth skin, a nice moustache and was dressed to the nines! Was he a model for a book? Gosh, HE CAUGHT MY EYE AS HE DID MANY A LADY AND A MAN BACK THEN AND NOW! WOW, WOW, WOWEEEE! 😂❤! SHEESH! ANGELA IS A BEAUTIFUL LADY, HER FAMILY HISTORY SHOWS BEAUTY! WAS HE HER GREAT, GREAT GRANDPA? THE THEATRICAL PASTOR WITH WHITE HANDKERCHIEF? SHOOT! I'D ATTEND HIS CHURCH JUST TO STARE AT HIM! HUBBA HUBBA!❤😂 SHAME ON ME, I AM A SINNER, BEAT ME WITH THE HANDKERCHIEF! 😂
Both are beautiful
I'm actually disappointed that Tina Turner is most like Angela Bassett's portrayal of her 😂😂
“She look nothing like me”……..low key diva moment.
The only hair in the soup Basset over did it in the gym! Tina was toned but not muscular, that is the one thing that was off but the rest was PERFECTION 👌🏽
🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
Rip to Tina tuner
Amen 🙏🏽
She looked like Keke Palmer here
Angela Bassett, like so many other Black Actresses of her time, got screwed over by Hollywood. She should've won an Oscar for this performance!
NOMINATION MY ASS SHE SHOULD HAVE WON!!!!
Love this!!
❤
HOW IS THIS HER FIRST EMMY?!?!? HOW?!?!?!?!?
I wish I had a documentary about the making of this film. I would watch it in a heartbeat. This could go on for three hours and I'd still watch it.
@@JokesandJudgement same and I wish they'd put some behind the scenes footage on the DVD. I know there were some short TV specials at the time but it's not enough 😩
Wait, I actually LIKE this! 😭😭 I would understand that they cut it out because it was bad but it wasn’t even bad, except for the ending 😭💀 I hated that they died and it felt forced on because the moment I heard the damn ticking I would’ve been GONE plus I wanted a spin-off with them since they clearly have history, and these scenes never felt like it was slowing the movie either
Tina even braided Angela hair like sisters on the set 2 great people
I really hate how Tina's domestic violence situation after this movie became a joke/memes that still run to this day. I laughed in my younger days too but now I'm like wow we really were laughing about a sweet woman being abused.
Angela Bassett represents the best of Queendom!
*FUN FACT:* when Angela Bassett first met Tina Turner for the first time so she could see for herself who would be playing her, she walked up to Angela, looked her up and down, smiled, and said out loud, "She's perfect!"
RIP Tina you're deeply missed 🙏
having watched so many episodes i dont get how freed slaves took the name of their owners i would never ever do that!
❤❤
i love how tina screamed right into angela’s ear 😂
En esta película me enamoré de Angela Bassett.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for this!
Please fix me Lord🙌
💫💫👸🏾👸🏾✨✨✨
💋💋💋💋 I Love You Auntie Angela 😘😘😘😘 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you!
Thanks for uploading this. Which year was this?
2004
Sùch a deeply emotional layered presentation of the earlier years of better times and the middle years of infant deaths to the latter years of extreme poverty lìving destitute and without true friendship. The unraveling which stirs the mind to ask‐- HOW DID WE GET HERE? It forces you to see clearly the reason of Love and also the reality necessary to acknowledge what happened to create the failure of not giving each other kindness. We accept what can't be changed and must change when LOVE is not here!
Angela Bassett is such a treasure!
HOW DOES SHE LOOK THE SAME❤
While the acting is undoubtedly very good, the whole book by Fugard has been distorted - both Boesman and Lena were “coloureds” , not black people at all. And the accents may be convincing to those that have never heard a South African colored accent, but truly bear no resemblance to the real thing. Comparable to a British actor hamming it up with an Alabama accent. Pity
She LITTERALLY should have won an EMMY for this role literally amazing!
Phenomenal
This man RESPECTS this woman. That’s love!
Why most stayed near their former owners I would bet because it was where black family kin and long term neighbor-blacks bonds of blood and friendship were. Also the slave masters name was a common link, a thread to have a hope of finding kin.
Because most became sharecroppers
I think Angela is the coolest woman on the planet, I adore her ♥
