Welcome to Johnny Works. The focus of this channel is to pass on some of the knowledge I have acquired thru the years working in residential as well as commercial construction. I try to make sure that I give enough information as well as a little humor while teaching what I have been doing since I was a young lad. I have 20+ years in the construction trade from labor to Supervision and currently work in and around the Boston area. I am a Proud Working class New Englander so I apologize ahead of time for my weird sense of humor and accent. Hold that thought, New Englanders don't apologize for anything, we just win baby!
Please enjoy my channel and Subscribe if you get any value from it. I sincerely hope you do !

Weather you have just installed a new window or want to remove the old sill and mouldings, this video is for you. I show the steps as we go but, I have more detailed videos on my channel when it comes to cutting the trim angles and also installing a new window. Thanks for checking it out and please take a look at other videos on my channel if you are looking for something else for home improvement.

Install kitchen cabinet trim & crown
Переглядів 2552 місяці тому
In this video I prepare my new cabinets for crown moulding. The 3"trim and crown molding came separately and are color matched and are pre-finished. I had to add wood blocking first and then the trim that wraps the cabinets making them taller basically. Then the crown moulding gets fastened to that trim and the ceiling for a nice finish look. I am not an expert at crown moulding but I can grit ...

Probably would have been 10-12 if we were not filming. Go get one of these if you can they kick butt! Last part we filmed the day of game #5 of the NBA finals. Hey Buddy👋🏼 I am young and inexperienced, I live alone in the forest where I preserve and multiply trees. A new friend volunteer on my project here, brought me these, vanished and I searched and found you 👏🏻 such simple things we get stuck, yet life is also made with small steps, I don’t know you, however you have such a kind heart 💜 and I salute you 🙏🏻 now I’m a fan of your channel where my real youth is in spirit 😉 you are helping others making sense for so many person, all my gratitude sir, you are amazing and such a wonderful teacher 🎉thank you so much 🤍🌸🤍🌸
Thanks for the kind words! You sound like you have an interesting life going on in the forest. Be safe and good luck ✊🏼
Tok me right where I needed to go. Thanks Johnny. Almost needed an interpreter but....LOL!
🤣 English is my 2nd language 😉 thanks for checking out the video ✊🏼
Nice vid I just bought one but have never used before so this was helpful. Also love that you are self aware with your accent 😆
I am stuck with it! 😁 thanks for watching!
After all the videos I watched on 45s, this by far was the easiest way to explain it and now I can do it. Thank you Johnny awesome instruction.
Thank you for watching and the nice compliment! Glad to help out✊🏼👊🏼
Talk too much
🤐🤣
Ok dumb question because I have never done woodworking before if my lumber is a piece of 2x2x8 and I use a speed square will the 45 degree angle on the big speed square still be 45 degrees for my smaller size lumber also how do I do opposing 45 degree angles because I'm trying to make braces for table legs and the directions call for opposing 45 degree angles using 2x2's at 30 inches long
Yes, a 45 degree angle is the same on a big or small speed square. To do opposing 45’s you should just be able to flip your 2x around. I would always lay it out and maybe mark them with a pencil before you cut them. I hope this helps a little
@@johnnyworks5446 thank you and my speed square is the same size as the one you used in the video so I didn't know if I need to buy a smaller one for using it on a 2x2 but from your response it seems like the one I have will be good to use
Nice I have to build the same thing for my house and had an idea in my head I like the removable factor. I would have build it so it would take a sledgehammer to remove
I built them for my daughters bathroom remodel but, had thoughts we may change our heating system so made them removable. 2 years later we have installed heat pumps and mini splits so I will rip them out soon! 😱🤣
The 18v Milwaukee planer is crap I have one it’s rubbish Milwaukee need to get there act together and bring a fuel one out with plenty of speed and torque under load. DeWALT and Makita hammer the Milwaukee planer
Good to know. I don’t need to use it too often so I haven’t had any issues but, thanks for the heads up.
Thank you so much. I was going nuts trying to tread these things. 😅
😆 I was also going nuts the first time I used them years ago! Thanks for watching ✊🏼
Face shield? 🛡️
I would recommend wearing one. 👊🏼 probably should have mentioned that. Thanks
Thanks.

Tell me you're from mass without telling me you're from mass. Thank you for the help 😊❤
What’s that supposed to mean! 🤣 Yah, you got me!!😁thanks for checking out the video✊🏼
Thanks
Your welcome! Thanks for watching 👊🏼
but it's EXPENSIVE.
Yes it is. Most tools are expensive now a days but, if it’s something you need or want I do recommend it as it works really well in my opinion.
I'm still so confuse
Sorry that you are still confused. You may find a better video that the explanation works better for you. I honestly watch a few similar videos on the subject I am going to film before I make it sometimes just to see other people’s explanation of it to help make it easier if I can.
Great Vid Johnny, I need to be schooled on table saws. I'm a plumber in L.A.I love wood working but dont have a clue about table saws. You know your business. Keep up the good work. DD in L.A.
Thanks a lot! Watch your fingers when using these bad boys. Once people get used to using them it’s easy to get complacent and lose some digits! Good luck!!
Thanks. Very educational tutorial
Thank you and thanks for watching!!
I have these they are great
Yes they are! They are very reliable!
You were a lifer weren’t you?
What does that mean?
The blade takes a decent portion of the wood away at the line. Should we cut at the outside of the cut line rather than on the cut line? I think that you probably did, but I missed you mentioning this important point. Great video though.
Great point! Yes, you should cut just outside the line because the blade will take about 1/8” of the wood. You can always cut twice but you can’t put the wood back after it’s cut. Old saying “measure twice, cut once”. Finish needs to be more accurate it when I used to be a framer, the guys would yell measurements to the cut guy telling them to leave or cut the line just for this reason if they needed to piece tighter or a little loose. Thanks for the question and for checking out the video ✊🏼
Great video! And your accent reminded me of my grandpa, so it's like he was teaching me
Thanks for watching! Glad you like the video and my dumb Massachusetts accent! 🤣
Awesome work Sir!! I love it. I'm a beginner in to refurb a cable spool that my son n law brought home for me. I'm going to attempt to make it a nice outdoor planter holder for me. If you have any ideas that would help me, I would be very grateful
Thanks for the comment! I would recommend using an exterior wood sealer on the planter if it is to stay outside. It will last longer.
I'm interested im carpenter my experience 15 year I need a job
Thanks for watching and Good luck!
Great video!!! Great info. Great teacher. Love the accent. Lived in the Brookline area for a few years. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks brother! I am outside the city 30-40mins but work in there everyday. Traffic sucks😂 thanks for checking out the vid and for the comments!!👊🏼
Thanks for sharing nice and basic straight to the point and well presented
Thanks for checking out my video. I hope it helps out a little ✊🏼

You made one of the best video compared to others that are out only for a click bait, but you got subscribed by me! ***** 5 stars!
Thank you so much! When I do a review of something that is new to me, I try to be as honest as I can when giving feedback. I am glad to help out if I can.
Great video, I just ordered the WEN 5000-Watt Dual Fuel 120V/240V RV and EV-Ready Electric Start Portable Inverter Generator. I'm installing it on front of my Toy Hauler with a Stromberg Carlson AA-255 A-Frame Cargo Tray. Along with a Aluminum Diamond Plated 32"Lx22"Wx24"H waterproof Cargo Box vented with 2 -12v cooling fans. Also with the exhaust ran outside of box pointed opposite of trailer with a stainless steel muffler w/spark arrestor inside for when boondocking. FYI, with propane fittings always use the yellow tape due to it's heat-resistant & anti-flammable nature. White or Pink is for water..
Thanks for watching! Also thanks for the heads up with the tape! ✊🏼
@@johnnyworks5446 i may be wrong but actually it should be a flare fitting and you don’t need tape.
So question if connected the wattage increases. But do the amps also chnage? Are also doubiking the amps?
Yes, I believe they do. Good luck!
Super helpful!
Thank you! Glad it helped out✊🏼
Thank you for the video! Helped me get my lumber home!
Your welcome, glad to help🤘🏼
The only tool I had to make the job smoothah was the beer. The rest of the tools were missing. 😂😂😂😂
Although beer is very tasty, I don’t recommend drinking while working on your house. I do sometimes but, I don’t recommend it 😁
@@johnnyworks5446 🤣🤣
Thanks so much for this! The instructions on the box are absolutely worthless and misleading.
Your welcome! Thanks for checking out the video ✊🏼
Will it run natural gas from the house
I know some generators can but I don’t think this one can. The manual doesn’t mention a natural gas option, only LP and gasoline.
@@johnnyworks5446 There are adapters to make that work.
Very informative thanks a lot! Deserve more subs
Thank you very much. I hope it helped and feel free to send a couple thousand subscribers my way ! 😁🤣
Amazing video , very straight forward and no bollocks , thanks mate
Thanks for checking it out ✊🏼

Go get one you cheap bast@rd! 😄. Thanks for watching sir!!
Johnny you’re a life saver
I am just a man who knows a couple things 🤣 good luck✊🏼
@@johnnyworks5446 well it worked out for the 40 pieces of drywall I had to transfer. Sad part is I’ve been in this business for 3 years now and I was today years old when i learned the correct way to use the straps
Why even put barn door in the title of this video when this video has NOTHING to do with barn doors at all and you will just waste people's time because the ONLY reason they will end up here is looking for help with barn doors.
The title clearly says trim out an opening for a barn door or pass through. You can either have the opening as painted drywall/plaster or trim it out in wood so it is finished before you hang your door or not. That is all this video is for. I appreciate the feedback but, I do not think it takes that long to find another video as there are thousands to pick from.
Wow! You helped me so much!Thank you for teaching those who do not have someone to explain how this stuff works. Wanting to do something and not understanding the basics is so frustrating.
Glad to be of service! Good luck with whatever the heck your working on !!😂✊🏼

How many of you, like me, totally FUBARed one of these before searching for a how-to on UA-cam? 😂. Thanks, Johnny, for the crystal clear instructions.
