the second time i did this ( we just call it a pack sack ) i was bitten by a tick and had bells palsey for 21 days
Lol fkn dumb video when the rut is on they couldnt give a fk about anything there in a daze following scent for hot does😂
You can’t say that they always do,because they always don’t
What’s the name/brand of the tool cabinets underneath workbench?
More teaching. Thanks. Great series.
As Randy Flannery of Wilderness Escape Outfitters of Danforth Maine preaches. “The Wetter the Better, The Thicker the Quicker”
With the ticks our deer have we can’t do that here
Man! I love this. Great info, great format. It's everything meateater and everything me. Let's go hunt'in.
“Do you hunt with a suppressor?” Well I live in Connecticut, so…no. No I do not. And it sucks.
I think if u have an opportunity to get a mature buck 8+ then take it. But I do not hunt typically for a trophy. The meat is usually tough and grainy. Does one to two years and smaller bucks spikes and 4 points are much tastier and easier to hunt. But everyone hunts for dift. Reasons me I just hunt for good tasting venison.
on meateater youtube?
Looking forward 👌 😊
All the mature bucks shown in this video were spindly not too big except one
I seen one throwing singles at some single doe mothers in a strip club once. 😂
Love the approach to both macro and micro deer tracking sign. Thank you 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
Very excited
Man This chit is awesome, please! Keep them coming. Love the show.........
The dumb part of this is that Ryan then did a video of his turkey gun. It's a Rossi Tuffy 410. I have the 20 GA version of it for slugs. So, is 12 or 20 the best option for Turkeys, Mr. Cal?
I quit watching meat eater years ago. Seems like a super lefty trying to infiltrate the 2a, hunting community
The original suppressed weapon…. The arrow. Game wardens don’t need to hear you shoot…. They just have to see you driving out and check your vehicle. Poachers don’t use big guns with suppressors anyways…. Poachers use rimfire like 22 magnum that way they can say they are squirrel hunting if seen.
I understand taking two shots to demonstrate maximum possible noise reduction. But for hunters, isn't the effective suppression on the first shot more important?
So true! I have been watching a lot of videos where they will shoot one coyote and the other one keeps coming in. I just bought my first suppressor and the dealer told me that on 6-700 yard shots some hunters are going 50 yards to the left and right and shooting a test shot to make sure they have the right accuracy. The big game animals aren't spooked in some circumstances from that distance and then they take the money shot. So cool!
👍🏽
Next we see this method done on a mature bull moose!
Ive knocked down some big bucks from the ground. I walk, look for fresh sign and sit with the wind in my face. Lots of luck this way. Hunt fresh sign. Does are only an advantage during the rut. Otherwise hunt the buck sign.
This is not “hearing safe.” Less obnoxious, for sure.
I had a neighbor who would wave happily when I mowed the pasture next to his house with a noisy, leaky diesel/hydraulic tractor. If I drove in the exact same pasture with a silent, leak free, one-cylinder 4-stroke motorcycle he slobbered and yelled about how I was poisoning animals and destroying the grass. Anti-suppressor logic for hunting is similar. When suppressors were outlawed to keep starving people from wiping out the few remaining game animals in the depression they just kept using 22.
Too bad only one place sells them. Hesitate to buy from them with all the poor experiences reported on the forums.
I’ve purchased 3 suppressors through Silencer Central with great customer service and no issues whatsoever. Banish 30, Banish 22, and recently a Dead Air Primal.
@@GarrettWilliams16 They give away the 22 to get people to buy from them
I bought a Banish 223 from Silencer Central that I use on my 2 coyote rifles, and got the free 22K-V2 that I use on my 17HMR ground squirrel rifle. Even though my situation was fairly complicated because I am a resident of one state but asked Silencer Central to set up my trust in another state where I have a second home, Silencer Central made it work without a hitch, including delivery to my (very) rural post office. Delivery was delayed by a week or two beyond local LEO review because the BATF had picked up the pace of Form 4 approvals, which led to an unexpected surge of shipping demand. I don't blame Silencer Central for that, though, and I still received my suppressors 6 months earlier than I expected when I bought them. After shooting my rifles suppressed I'll never go back to unsuppressed. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Silencer Central again. With the very fast BATF approvals now, it's a great time to buy a suppressor.
I have bought 4 from them with no issues.
Actually just purchased a 5th also
Janis (or whoever wrote his script) did NOT state the correct normal fixed parralax distance for rimfire rifle scopes . It is NOT 25 yards Rimfire scopes are nornally set at 50 or 60 yards from the factory.
I'm always seeing them old bucks coming in on the hill side
We don't have hills... so I guess we don't have old bucks lol
@BG-bx4ey Opinions vary
**Silencer
I’m aiming for the vitals, or I’m not taking the shot. With whitetail and my setup, I don’t even consider the shoulder as an obstacle. I have no trouble getting through the humerus or the scapula. If my setup was less capable, I would wait for perfect shot angle. Quartering away. Personally I would never aim further back because I was afraid of hitting bone. Wait till bone is out of the way and aim for the highest probably of success. Lung farthest away from the heart is not equal to lung at the heart. That’s just how the body works. If you’re already aiming for the edge of the vitals, you’re more likely to miss them, obviously. The goal in my opinion should be to pass completely through the most vital area. If bones are an obstacle, I would quartering away shots from an elevated position to increase the odds of this outcome.
When Tony Peterson gives tips, you take notes.
What are those orange things you are using to hold your patterning board? I'd buy a set today if I knew what they were and where to get them.
Which of your guys’ suppressors should I get for my .44 mag lever gun?
“Trust us this can is absolutely hearing safe!” *inserts double hearing protection*
In their podcast they released recently the hearing scientist they had on said it's only hearing safe for 1 shot with a suppressor at 140 db and every shot after that is causing hearing damage.
They have the Sig sawtooth in 300WM?!?!
No. Meateater just spews content these days, doesn’t care if the information is correct or not.
I'd love to see the same three tests in a round that's both quieter and has less recoil, like a 6.5 Creedmoor. Guess I'll just have to order the suppressor and a Sig Cross and test it myself...
Very cool to see the science behind this stuff!
I own it in 20 ga. I bought it specifically for shooting slugs due to how much like a rifle it feels to shoot. It's the only shotgun I've ever fired a slug through and felt confident that I could hit something with it at more than about 15 yards. Mine has a 4x32 shotgun scope and I'm comfortable shooting out to about 75 yards without too much of a problem. Live in Texas and have to deer hunt on public land, that only allows shotguns? Buy a Rossi Tuffy 20 Turkey and use the IC choke. You're good...
I also have some Hevi Bismuth Turkey rounds for it. I might try that next Spring.
Deer always follow the contours of the land
How do you know? Are you a fucking deer? The same deer never takes the same trail twice if he’s smart I know that because I’ve been hunting for over 20 years. I’ve never seen a buck. Take the same path ever a dog will cause she’s stupid. stupid a young buck stupid a big buck no way they’re gonna stay in that rush until nighttime or that cornfield until nighttime and then they’re gonna make her move about five minutes before darkdon’t get on here thinking you know everything because there’s always gonna be somebody you’re smarter than you wiser more educated, please check your stats before you come up in here. There’s a lot of hunters who I speak for. Don’t like your comment. It’s very stupidity.
Just curious in a 24 hr period how far will they travel
I'd be curious to know what that rifle is-- super interesting chassis.
Sig Cross, looks like the magnum version.
Sig Cross Sawtooth
I’m a game warden, have been for a decade. If I have a specialty, it’s catching night hunters. I’m also a suppressor owner. It’s laughable to think that having a suppressor is going to make any difference on your likelihood of being caught. You’re either an opportunist that takes a chance on a getting away with something you normally wouldn’t do when you’re faced with the big buck encounter or you’re someone who has premeditated the whole routine. The ones I have caught in recent years seem to be trending to narrow high speed crossbows such as ravins, which fit out the window of a truck and sometimes have lights mounted to them directly. Others seem to favor smaller caliber rifles with NVG or thermal scopes. The impulsive behavior tends to be young knuckleheads and the premeditated behavior seems in my experience to be wealthy middle aged folks. From my perspective, you can’t count on hearing a rifle shot or watching goofballs working a 2 million candle power light on a bean field anymore. You have to get creative.
Good information. Way too soft on the straight on shot, weak opinion.
Spencer is the only one that can shoot in this crew, that or their guns suck bad!
On their feet
I wanna see Steve crawling back into the boat after going in headfirst 😂😂😂
ok
Suppress everything.
why you did not show the 20 ga 40 yd target. that is why you should put an optic on your turkey gun
20 ga is 200fps slower than a 12 ga . 28 ga same speed as a 12 ga
