I Trimmed Energy Suspension Bushings For Proper Fit
I had to cut down some Energy Suspension polyurethane leaf spring bushings to ensure they fit correctly in the classic Bronco. I did call Energy Suspension to confirm it's okay to cut the bushing.
If you have to cut yours, ensure you get a flat, even cut, and account for a small gap between the bushing halves when it's assembled. The material is almost plastic-like and cuts easily with a metal blade in a reciprocating saw followed by a razor in a utility knife. I also used a flap wheel on a grinder to smooth the cut evenly and slightly bevel the cut edge.

Early Bronco Steering Finally Fixed!! So Easy
Переглядів 14428 днів тому
After a year of working on this 76 Bronco, I learned so much! Including why the steering was always wonky. Evidently Ford used different tie rod ends and pitman arms through the years, and this Bronco was fitted with the wrong year pitman arm. The 1976-1977 Broncos use a pitman arm with a 1.70" tapered hole to accommodate a 1.70" tie rod stud. The 66-75 Broncos used a pitman arm with a 1.75" ta...

GM Transmission Shudder Fix

I learned on another video that poor fluid characteristics cause late model GM transmissions to shudder, whether under load or easy cruising. This 2015 with 120k miles was doing just that. I added LubeGard Platinum, and the problem went away immediately! NOTE: the fluid should be roughly 100° when checking. That means the car and transmission should run for a few minutes to warm up. I feel like this was a miracle! These old pre-80s Toyota pickup fuel pickups are usually trashed beyond recognition. Early Bronco Is A Lot Of Work

1-Ton Axle Swap Into Toyota Sunrader RV

Finally, a start to finish video covering what it takes to garage-swap a 1-ton axle into a vintage Toyota motorhome. Can the booster not repairable?
@@rubenfilippus2956 yes they can be rebuilt. Most regions have someone who does that sort of thing for pretty cheap, I'd guess less than $50. Most of the time I just like having a new one ready to go on.

OMG!! Those are factory welds on that exhaust pipe?? They're worse than my welds and let me tell you, that's bad!! Also how stupid is that restriction given it's a V10 and breathing is quite important as it is for ALL engines especially big ones? I agree on the harbor freight stud removal tool, I recently went through several other tools and had lost hope on a bolt I was trying to extract recently and then found a harbor freight set and had a great bite, that also had a bolt type head for a socket or wrench and it worked like a charm, I thought sure it was going to be a total waste of time and money but in desperation I discovered a great tool.
Thank you for this video! You helped me save my car! and a ton of $$!
I have these wheels on my RV this is the best solution I have seen on YT. Mine are Budd 44850 -16 x 5.5-inch DRW six lugs on 7.25 center. The system is lug centric, not wheel centric. So balancing is either done with lug adapter or balance beads. You can’t center the wheel on the balancer by using the hole in the wheel.
I bought a 1991 Winnebago Warrior RV in Oklahoma for $6000. It had dryrot tires. Spent 1500 on brand new tires. But I took it to my sister's house. And the mechanic in the back. Stole my coach battery. I heard that generator turn over one time. I figure now that the same guy, stole parts off of my generator for his stuff. But she runs almost forever on a gallon of gas. I can run the motor with the heater on high. It will heat the rest of the house. It gets super hot in here. Everything works on here. I had a small smoking problem with the breaker bars. Got the breakers replaced. Then they caught fire. No worries, stopped it before it got too bad. It's a V6. And heaven forbid you turn a sharp corner. Anything you have sitting up on counter tops. Goes flying. So I make sure I have stuff I don't want to be flying and breaking. RIP tablet.
I know the 6cylinder motors from early 90s had the recall about the head gasket. Did you find out how to see if your unit completed the recall?
@@nunyabznz3029 I didn't bother to find out. Toyota issued an extended warranty to owners. If the gaskets failed, they'd replace them. If they didn't fail, they didn't touch it. So the recall work was only done to vehicles with gaskets that failed. At least that's what the federally issued recall announcement stated.
What does the propane run? Just the cooktop?

bolts out of yoke , so it should just disengage when rack pulled away?
@@InvictaHorizonJFM83 sort of. It should pull straight out, but a well machined fit and the possibility of corrosion may keep it bound until leverage is applied. Lube it up real good and keep an eye on it as you work to separate it
rhd over here so would try to pull it out from right, but awkward metal lines pipes in the way, may be easier to lower the front subframe and support the engine
@@InvictaHorizonJFM83 I forgot to follow up with you, how did it go?
nearly there , just took the lower yoke bolt out, only the top one to do, will the yoke then come out with the rack?
What is the reason the exhaust manifolds and studs with gaskets need to be replaced? Is it rust??
@@debrad5783 manifolds are fine unless they're cracked. It's typically a reaction between dissimilar metals that causes seizing and corrosion, but sometimes attributable to good old rust (salted roads or off-roading that never gets cleaned). Most OE gaskets are one-time use but some can be reused if not damaged during disassembly/reassembly. In this case the studs just erode or weaken from corrosion.

@@sp00f34 LR is definitely not a manufacturer of perfect cars, but I sure am fond of their vehicles. My fav is the L322. Better than the L405 IMO. Sorry you've had rotten luck with yours. As the saying goes, LR's been making mechanics out of owners since 1948 😅
@@RosyWrench Well I'm pretty sure most of them break down. Which is a sick joke and perhaps a scam so people have to spend 7k at LR getting it repaired. @BrianBarnettTX highly appreciate the response man, will look into it
Why does he keep saying the exhaust will come down with the engine? Dropping the bracket alittle bit lowers the engine?
Right, that front clip cradles the engine. If you pulled those four 18mm bolts out completely, you could (after disconnecting a few more things) remove the engine from below. As the engine comes down with the front clip, the exhaust comes with it (if you disconnect the mid pipe, then just the manifold comes down with the engine and the rest of the exhaust could stay in the car)
Oooh i get what you're saying. Thanks. How low did you need to go. its fairly tight. I am doing this exact job but on the ground. I wish i had a lift like yours!
@@pleb2dev605 you only need to drop the clip 1-2 inches. That will earn you enough clearance to get tools in and twist the rack out. If you pull the bolts all the way out, I'd suggest threading it back in a couple turns to keep the front clip/subframe suspended and lined up. Might be a trick to line up the bolt holes if you remove the bolts and support the clip on stands (though that could get you a lot more wiggle room). It'll take some time and patience, but it'll come out. Be careful under the car!
@@RosyWrench I finally got the rack on. The way i gained a ton of space that made things really easy what to remove the 2 18mm bolts on the back near the exhaust manifold. and let the bracket hang and jack up the engine. That gave me so much space it was like butter removing the rack and reinstalling everything. I'll probably have this one ready to sell this winter. It's too short inside for me to keep (about 5'11" ceiling). If I do another I'll probably just swap in a 3/4-ton axle or maybe just build a custom Ford 9" and utilize single rear wheels. I'll probably finish this one as a solar/battery rig and ditch the traditional genset and mounted propane tank.

Great Presentation!
Nice Rig for it's age..
You have to run the generator for the appliances to work? I assumed when the engine was on it would power everything on As well. Can solar panels be added to keep everything on for full time living?
@@kmoreno8278 yes the appliances require 110v, so generator or shore power. The water heater and water pump operate on 12v. Solar can be added to power 12v fixtures and charge the battery. A power inverter would allow the solar production to be turned into 110v but still requires batteries for a place to hold electricity.
