For me its both in one hand its nostalgia becasue of the old games, and on the other hand I became interested in retro hardware because I want to know how the games run with old graphics cards. Since I can only find very few or no videos of many old graphics cards on the Internet and especially on UA-cam, I decided to make such videos myself. My project is big. This is just the beginning^^

Nice:) but i hope you have ordered the right X600 XT because most of this used cards haven't got the real X600 XT clock speed! SO be carfeul. If you like the X600 series, I would definitely go for the XT version. This card is noticeably faster than a X600 Pro and can even compete with the Geforce 6600! I'm glad my benchmark videos helped you to buy a X600 XT:) I have spent 20€ with shipping for this card and i was really lucky:)

Definetely not a bad system:) 7600 Gt was a good mainstream card in 2006 and with a Core2Duo its perfect i would say:). But the Geforce 7600 Series had probles with textures... it was blurry and not so sharp as it should be

@retro4fun358 I only had problem with Clear Sky at launch which was a driver issue preventing the game from running, had to wait a bit, I did end up buying a new rig 😂 SoC was running fine from the start

yes haha it's not a well optimized game... but there were games which run more worse than this. Like Boiling Point Road to Hell or GTA San Andreas....

@@retro4fun358 I never liked GTA, I always prefered Mafia, mainly because of I am Czech and Mafia is just our beloved game, but I remember that GTA SA looked really ugly to me and it performed pretty poorly for how it looks, it was just weird port from PS2.

@@Pidalin yes bad Port for the PC in terms of performance. It looks not great but better than PS2 because of the higher Resolation. Everyone benefits from different games. Tastes are different

The 360 came in the end of 2005. Much earlier than PS3. The Sofware is like a Athlon 64 X2 5400+and a GPU that was close to Geforce 7800 GTX. Its of course better than AMD ATlon64 3700+ and a Radeon X600 XT

You were really amazed by Oblivion? That game was ugly already back in the day, especially when you were used to playing FarCry, Half Life 2 and such games that looked much better already few years before. HDR, Bloom and stuff like that was super ugly, but Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl still looks pretty even even now. I play a lot of old games, but I am always shocked how ugly Oblivion is when I try it now and it was ugly already in 2006, Fallout 3 and New Vegas on the same engine were also very ugly, but it was ok for that stylised dark humor visuals, Skyrim was also super ugly in 2011, but there is a massive jump in graphics in Fallout 4, that looks pretty good I would say still with the same engine. BTW, don't take me wrong, I really like Oblivion and I would prefer it over Skyrim, but that game was super ugly. Back to Stalker, even when original stalker can look slightly more outdated now, there was such a big jump in lighting and shadows in Clear Sky that it still looks really good even today.

@Pidalin the HDR in caves when you had a torch and the reflections on armor were amazing. The open world was also amazing, for me it was jaw dropping. Stalker had a lot of issues with my x1950pro indoors the lighting and shadows were amazing but as soon as I went out the fps would drop like crazy and had to drop the fully illuminated settings. Tried many fixes but nothing seemed to work, it was a driver issue maybe but also the game was a mess at launch 🤓. I had it on original disk and I was young, never checked for updates even months after release.

yes that's true haha but for me older graphics card are more interesting because it was a great time and the cards were more different than today from the design and cooling too. Today the cards look almost the sam, because of the big cooler... for me Its boring. And in other hand ,the old games are much more fun for me. retro cards are more expensive because its difficult to find, expescially rare cards are: Radeon X800XT, XL, Radeon X600XT too, Geforce 6800, 6800 GS, 7800 GT. If you want to have a retro system like me and seeking for a cheap retro card for P4 or AMD Athlon 64. i can recoomend Geforce 7600 GS or 7600 GS, there are many of them with cheap price. If you want to build a retro system with Core 2 Duo or AMD64 X2 or even Core 2 Quad than i would recommend Geforce 8800 GT/ 9800 Gt this are great cards and cheap. soon my PC from 2015 with GTX 970 will be a retro Computer:) it's the newest PC what i have now^^

I have spent 20€ (shipping inclusive) for this GPU and I had luck. X600 XT wasn't a fast GPu it's a 9600XT with higer memory clpck speed wih PCI-Express Interface, but it's definetely faster than a X600 Pro. But this GPU is hard to find for a cheap price because its pretty rare... The performance of the X600XT is close to the Geforce 6600 (non GT) Be aware there are many fake X600 XT on ebay or other used shops, in reality there are only X600 Pro, because they don't have the right GPu and memory clock. I recommend only buy this card if you can find it for a good price and i would ask the Seller for more details of this card.

yes you are right. in 2004/2005 gamers were satisfied with 30-40 fps. If you get 40 fps or more it was really good. With 60 fps and more itw as incredible. Today 60 fps is too low for many Gamers^^ they need 120 fps or more... I can't do anything with new games anymore except for a few exceptions

@@retro4fun358I think they don’t *need* it honestly cuz my friend plays on 120 then complains about 60fps for like 5 minutes and he already adjusted

of course, even a Radeon X600 Pro can run Crysis. Not well but its playable at 800x600 Low.

Only one music isn't from this game Wisin y Yandel - Sexy Movimiento 8:36 - 11:35 But Calle Callejero from the same artist are inculded in the Scarface OST. Back then Athlon64 was a great CPU for PC Gamer It was cheap with a good performance. Atllon64 3700+ performs better than a Pentium 4 3,6 GHZ in PC games. Intel was better for Apllications like Office or Programs

@@retro4fun358 I remember when fraps took 15-25 fps from my GPU at the time. Computing is OP today. GGs dude.

@@StephenOBG yes recording with Fraps took a lot of performance unfortunately... but couple of months ago i have bought a capture card finally. And now i can record old graphic cards at old games well. But its not perfect because the FPS Loss is still there but 1-2 FPS in few games. Even Fraps can steal your FPS with only showing the FPS..

In the future i will not put backround music in games (only if the game or benchmark Tool doesn't have any sounds or music) Now i have the right audio cable to recording sound and music too:) I am not happy too that i couldn't record the original sound and music of this game. With the next cards it will changing. I understand your criticism and you are right. But it's not really about the music, it's about showing the FPS​​in the game. MSI Afterburner works only with older Geforce cards well. With ATi there are more problems... The other problem is that MSI Afterburner consumes more Ram than Fraps and it decrease your FPS. But even Fraps can steal your FPS in couple of games.... like Splinter Cell 3 i have noticed in 2 Settings.... But Fraps needs less Ram Usage and it works well with older cards like Geforce 2/3/4 or Ati Radeon 9600 etc. The Capture Card can steal your FPS too in few games. The Difference can be 1-2 FPS at most.... I try to prevent the FPS Loss but it can be Tricky.

I could this game playing through every time^^ one of the best Tony Hawk game ever. The Story Mode is a bit short this is sad. But it makes so much fun. 2 Level more would be amazing. THUG 2 Remix has 3 Level more (Santa Cruz, Kyoto Japan and Casino) Casino is one part in American Wasteland^^

Tut mir Leid für die späte antwort. Ich habde den Kommentar erst jetzt gesehen. Leider habe ich keine Timedemo dazu... Ich habe mal versucht eine aufzunehmen, doch die FPS Warte waren beim abspielen der Timedemo deutlich schlechter. Das ist auch der Grund warum ich für UT2004 keine Timedemo erstellt habe. Aber wenn du Deathmatch 12 Bots einstellst und die entsprechende Map auswähls wirst du es gut selbst testen können. Ich würde sogar sagen das bei Spiele wie UT es sogar am besten ist die FPS Anzahl in 1 Runde Deathmatch zu testen. Ich habelediglich in zwei Spiele selbst eine Timedemo erstellt: Half Life 2 (3 Timedemos von mir aufgenommen) Call of Duty 2 (Ebenfalls 3 demos) Falls du interessa hast findest du die Timedemos unterd en folgenden Link: extreme.pcgameshardware.de/threads/timedemos-fuer-half-life-2-call-of-duty-2-retro-spiele.641111/ Ich bin dabei die Spiele mit einer Capturekarte mit den jeweiligen Grafikkarten aufzunehmen damit man nicht nur die FPS Werte immer sehen kann sondern auch die Benchmarkszene. Aber es ist wirklich sehr aufwändig. Aber gerne kann ich extra Videos machen wo ich nur die Benchmarkszene von mir zeige. Natürlich ist es nie 100% gleich da leider viele Spiele damals keine Timedemos hatten und ich so gut wie möglich versucht habe das die Szene möglichst gleich bleibt und einigermaßen reproduzierbar ist. Die Games welche Timedemos haben ist die Reproduzierbarkeit nahezu 100%. Die von mir gespielten Szenen 90-95% denke ich etwa, es kommt natürlich auch auf das Spiel an, aber besser geht es leider nicht. Ich versuche es so gut wie möglich zu machen. Man konnte soweit ich mich erinnere auf einen erweiterten Kader zugreifen. Das heißt man konnte die Mannschaft so erstellen wie sie zur realen Zeit wirklich war. Auf Weltklasse richtig schwer zuspielen erstrecht wenn man Mannschaften wie Marokko oder Paraguay nahm.

Die WM an sich war auch ein Klasse Turnier. Ronaldo, Zidane, Bergkamp, Zamorano

Welches andere Spiel meinst du UEFA EURO 2000? Ich finde das FIFA 2000 schon besser aussieht als FIFA 98. Generell sehen viele PS1 Spiele die im Jahr 2000 rauskamen am besten aus (die große Mehrheit zumindest) .
