Newsflash, not everything is in retrospect and still goes on today. The Belmont Report of principles used as a guideline is in place to prevent the unethical practice and minimize potential harm to subjects, but currently includes the unfortunate few bad apples who omit and disregard these principles as remains in contrast in the foundation for even a person's accessible right to health and life longevity due to the exemption in which some subjects (usually at the convenience to the accessible minorities) do not have the right to Beneficence, Respect for Person, Autonomy for consent, and Justice. The impacts in research today seems to be make a legal exemption for the few in the medical profession who are not affected in retrospect of studies and facts, keeping the static non accountability and non transparency as part of their perceived reason for the program, project, or study. The few bad apples's actions speak volumes in direct contrast and in direct contradiction not only to the Belmont report of principles, but to the abuse of power and position that could even go against one of their own in the medical profession, making the right to self care even less accessible for subjects. Because you cannot see, measure, nor validate in fact, does not mean that unethical research not integrated with one ounce of the Belmont Report of principles does exist even up to today, because it does.
