If you have high miles and change transmission fluid always add this even if no problems but never do a actual flush.
Modern engines that have not missed an oil change and dont burn oil dont need any additives 👍🏼
This is Amazing! What are the dimensions and do You have a step by step video?
Does that go on before or after oil change
4.6 Ford 480 thousand miles and still running smooth, one bottle of Lucas every oil change since new
That was the dumbest test I’ve ever seen
It’s literally just base oil thickener. The high milage has some seal swelling agents in it. If your oil is too thin from age or dilution just change it. There are absolutely no Lucas products that are required. They’re all just bandages for simple problems that need remedied correctly.
Yall think itll work on 2016 nissan maxima? I have a jugger code p17f1
It is a band-aid for a really bad problem.
This is absolutely a paid promotion
Or… idk change the trans fluid???
One thing to note is- this doesnt actually fix the vehicle and isnt meant to. The problem is still present. This is meant to help a limping transmission last a little longer.
I can honestly say it stopped a leak I was having and fix a minimal slip between 2 and 3 gear.
Amsoil tested this. Take it with a grain of salt if you wish. They concluded that oil stabilizers do prevent friction but they cause the oil to become so viscous at cold temperatures that it can't flow, which is just as important because a cold start causes the most engine wear. For me, I'll keep using them in the summer, but I'm gonna remove it every time I change my oil before winter because you may need that lower viscosity to protect the engine. P.s. don't use it in modern turbo aluminum block/head OHC engines. It's much better suited to classic cast iron pushrod engines.
I used this in my Titan, and it shifts amazingly now
Good test
I was just told not to use this stuff by my transmission shop. Something about metal shavings in the transmission and not to change the fluid either
I agree Oil treatments aren't needed in today's synthetic oils However every engine builder knows higher viscosity oil equals less wear and more runs between engine rebuilds! 3rd generation engine builder and mechanic.
Less wear to an extent then it becomes more wear. Also 3rd gen engine builder, drag racer.
Whatever happened to drain, check fluid for burned up friction disc chunks and filter change?
Good for you and when it gets cold and it’s to thick to get up to the bearings in a cold start the bearings get scared up Lucas is snake oil nothing more it makes good assembly lube but that’s about it
Price not bad at all im getting my hands on this!
If you have metal shavings in your fluid, don't waste your time and money.
I used it over 20 years ago on a 1992 GMC Sierra that I owned. There was nothing wrong with the truck. It just had high mileage, about 200K miles, so I wantd to try Lucas because I heard it minimized wear and prolonged engine life. The truck had a 5.7 liter V8 engine and it was quiet. I used it as directed on the bottle. 1 quart of Lucas with 4 quarts of oil. When I started it up after changing the oil, the engine started making a ticking noise that it had never made, so I turned off the engine and checked the oil level. The level was fine so I started it again and it started ticking again. I thought it would go away after a few minutes so I let it run for about 5 minutes. The ticking never went away so I drained the oil/Lucas combination and refilled with only oil. It ticked for about 15 seconds and then it stopped. What happened is that the oil was too thick and not getting to the top of the engine so the valvetrain underneath the valve covers was not being lubricated. I never used it again. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use it but it's your money and your vehicle so do what you want.
Yup. Great for protection, not so good for pick-up. Especially if you're using it in cold climates.
Your results are typical. It’s literally just a base oil thickener.
@@thatairplaneguy Yeah, if you use it as directed, I think it's thicker than 20W-50 oil, because I did this on a sunny 85 degree day. I'm glad I didn't do it in winter when it's below zero. That mix would've had the consistency of lard.
I’m not against Lucas and their products. I’ve used the power steering product. But to me when it comes to the transmission product, I’m not speaking negatively about it but wouldn’t have to use it if the Transmission fluid was changed when it was supposed to, even in the sealed transmission, and yes sealed transmission fluid can be changed, I’ve done it several times before
And to this day none of the vehicles I have done to this day don’t have any issues
I was really wondering about this stuff and now I know it will probably help my issues
This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen.
Good stuff. Just don’t use it on modern cars because it will clean so fast that it’ll clog up the catalytic converter
Hahahahaha even if it did use some Cata-Clean
It works!
So far, it seems to be making a big difference in my 2003 chevy trailblazer with 200k miles. My transmission is slipping. It all depends WTF is wrong inside your tranny. If your tranny doesn't have broken parts, or the clutches are too worn, it might make a difference in the valve body (sticking valves) and help a bit with slightly worn clutches. And it might be a band aid too. Eventually, your tranny might fail completely unfortunately. I just want to drive my SUV to the park down the street and run errands close by.
It worked on my 1981 Ford F100
I will try
It’s actually bad for the oil pump it stresses it makes it work hard
i want to become a mobile mechanic have tools but dont know where to start and how to get clients.
Its pretty easy just keep helping friends and family word will spread fast. Almost too fast and your tools demands will increase quickly because people have so many different needs.
Lucas stabilizer begins as 60 weight base oil and equal amounts of calcium and zddp ; around 900 ppm . It's great stuff the last 1000 mi of an oil change
If you need it for 1000 miles then you just need to change your oil 1000 miles sooner.
You’re probably just low on fluid
Marvel mystery oil does the same if not a better job
Everyone saying don’t use this stuff I absolutely right.
Now, let's get that car sold for $4,000 😂
How often to put that in?
I quit my job today I am 20 years old, I got tired of feeling like a slave even tho I was getting 40$ an hour and have gotten hired twice the owner is very annoying when days are slow also threatens to fire when you don’t wanna stay late after work??? Even tho time is 9-5 I’m just really trinna make it through these new journey anyone has any advice for me?
$40 an hour is amazing at 20!! It had to have been real bad if you needed to quit but that’s just part of working your way up is swallowing your own pride and getting through the tough times even when you have bosses bitching at you. But if anything you could get hired on to a different shop because of your experience
It says on the bottle no recommended for cvt and duel clutch transmissions. Use for only light duty manual transmissions
What should I use for rough shifting?
Your modern oils have all the attitudes. You need if you take that thick loop is put it in a pot and heat it up, you see what happens to it. It gets thin it doesn't stay like that. As your motor beats it up, it cuts the molecules into piece of that's what these modern oils try to stop You don't have to use any of that kind of stuff if it's an old motor and it's warm out and you wanna try to quiet and down a little bit? It's okay
So you tested it after you put the battery back in and everything?
Yes!
@@CarOps sorry if that was a dumb question
I miss the old Ford ACs. They blew really cold air compared to the new stuff.
Aye bro would 2012 kia rio have the same thang? My ac only gets cold when a window is cracked open. If all windows are closed the AC blows hot air, but crack the window bout 3 or 4 inches and it'll get cold. And I can't figure it out at all....
Your music makes you seem ignorant
What if the ac only works on high. Same issue basically?
Yes!
@@CarOps thanks?
⚠️This is the procedure for my vehicle. Every vehicle has its own procedure.⚠️
Waaw nice test good way if thinking out the box. Never thought if testing it what way. Lugas is great amd also marvel mistroy oil. Love then both from the old school.
