Box HSPU

The box handstand push up is a GREAT way to build pressing strength while inverted. This is a great scaling option to "deload" the body and work towards the goal of a strict hspu against the wall. If you'd like a more organized plan to learn this skill, so you can CRUSH some handstand push ups and not sure how to train them, click the link to access my program. performanceplusprogramming.com/sh...
Push-up

A quick view of the push up, most commonly we would see this hollow back and tricep push up in gymnastics and calisthenics training.

Hollow Single Leg Lift [With Scaling]
Hi. If I feel my blood running down to my face is it normal with a stance like this?
Another great video!!! Thanks Pamela.
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback. 🙏🏼🤸♀️
Thanks for all the tips Pamela! What do you suggest to boost our mobility/flexibility especially in the arch position?
so glad it's helpful. check out our program written by Dr of PT, Zach Long...Its perfect for your issues with kipping performanceplusprogramming.com/shop/thoracic-mobility-overhaul/
@@pamelagnon thank you Pamela!
How does this push up variation helps?
The hollow body at start and end fire up abs and bring more tension to body for more strength and control.
🦾❣️
Thanks 😊
Fantastic
Why do we need hip flexor strength for this movement?
Awesome!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Brilliant, giving this a go!
Can you do one of these for ring muscle ups? 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Great idea. Definitely
🤩 can’t wait thank youuuu!
Any advice on how to rotate over the bar? I get stuck under the bar?
Perfect thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Nice video, thanks Pamela. How many reps and sets would you recommend? Cheers
Thank you. It depends on your fitness level and what you’re pairing it with…if I’m doing as accessory work I tend to start with 5 sets and make sure I can hit the same reps each set (so set one you’ll leave about 30-35% in the tank) - rest approx 45-60sec per set or I’ll pair it with pull-ups and that’s my “rest” from the Ring work
@pamelagnon Hi Pamela, thank you for the Infos. I ll do It exactly as you suggested. I am using calisthenics and rings to improve my strength for climbing as a lot of exercises are very similar to climbing moves. Hope you are having a good time around Christmas. Take care
Perfetto tip
Thank you 🙏🏼
What muscle you got up you said?
This is just showing the drills. Not the actual ring muscle up.
Wow thats impressive!!! +sub how old are you?
Thank you for this tutorial! I learned that I was looking up too much and it was causing my back to arch. After implementing what you said, I increased my handstand hold time to 5 seconds and I have better control of my body. Thank you!
Glad it helped! Fantastic news!!
Nice
I just tried this and the feeling is incredible! It felt so good and I didn't even know I could do it 😅 thank you for posting!
Nice
can i improve?😮
Struggled with these this week. 😢
Thank you for the explanation, I was looking for something like that, I finally found you ❤❤❤🎉🎉
I am so glad it was helpful!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Looking absolutely amazing
Thank you so much 😊
@ I just was totally honest ☺️
Getting your head over the bar is a pull-up. The next progression is chest to bar….followed by hips to bar and over to complete the bar muscle. Your arms essentially are not doing the work, as the movement requires decent back strength (lats). What she is demonstrating is actually a “kipping” bar muscle up, which uses a swing and momentum to propel the mid section to the bar. Once there, a standard dip is used to lock the arms. Performing a BMU on the rings is significantly harder as the bar being a “fixed / stationary” apparatus makes it easier to complete the movement. The rings are unstable and require decent core strength to keep the rings stable, as you propel yourself to the dip position (top of the movement). Your arms remain mostly straight as practical but obviously they will bend as your body gets closer to the bar. What’s interesting is the BMU is generally just a gymnast’s way to mount the bar or rings to perform their routine.
Me encanta!!
Veru useful video. Theres some drills i never seen before in others youtubers tutorials wow
Happy to hear that!
Jajajajaja 😂😂😂
hello miss! thenks for your recomandation! i appreciate!
You're so welcome!
This is crossfit your feet are starting the movement where it is at your back to work
You are the best!!!❤
CrossFit…a chiropractors favorite sport!
What do you do if you fall out of your handstand?😂
If I can’t get my knees to my elbows what’s the progression? Negatives?
Been struggling to learn these for a while now. Going to try looking at the feet! I also think maybe my core is super weak or something. I can’t do the v up too well and my hamstrings are super tight.
Your videos are great ! Do you have any for learning pullover? I can do it if I jump off the ground but not from a dead hang. Thank you 🙏
So this is basically a glide kip where you glide in from above the bar? Looks cool! I am working on the Glide Kip now. Once I can do the Glide Kip, is this pretty easy to learn?
Just got my first kipping bar muscle up! I definitely want to work on strength tp get a strict one as well. Everyone said it already but just to add: this is the most educational video I've seen out there, for like, anything. You can see how well you know the skill by how well you can explain it in detail and in words anyone can get.
Thank you so much. So glad it’s helpful. Congrats on your Kipping bar muscle up top
Very nice 😊
💪🏾👑
Nice move!!!
Amazing session…I fully appreciate your telling the “ why” in your instructions… As a Masters Athlete I’m excited to know that this exercise will help me with my HSW & HSPU …! These things have repeatedly derailed me in the Open and Quarterfinals…I’m hopeful that this will be the blueprint for success… Thank you… Tjake4life
thank you!

How to annihilate your rotator cuff 😂
