This interview is part of a series of videos that explore the lives of psychiatrists in Pakistan. It is a brain child of the student psychiatry interest group (SPIG) at The Aga Khan University.
Pakistan has a total of 400 registered psychiatrists. This translates into an alarming ratio of roughly 400,000 people to 1 psychiatrist. With an ever growing demand, this is our attempt to encourage the doctor of tomorrow to consider this wonderful field. In this interview series, we introduce several of Pakistan consultant psychiatrists and try to answer questions about the field.

To launch this series, Dr Ayesha Mian, talks about her 15 year experience in the field. Dr Mian is the Chair of the department of psychiatry at the Aga Khan university. She is an American trained physician who specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry. She is also the Dean of Students at the university.
