@@DonTrishLayne I grew up around the same town Ronnie Sox Is from . I’m 56 and remember riding by his shop . He’s a celebrity in that area to say the least . Ronnie was like Richard petty . He ran what he knew would win that season . There’s a lot of art around locals in Burlington NC . Most popular was the early 60s when he was running the old 409 chevys

Thanks for the great explanation!! The car had 5:43 gears in the rear end which are so low that the car had to run at higher RPM. I’ve already replaced those , rebuilding transmission and. Looking into the engine issues…
They are light weight springs for the fiberglass hood.
