Can I put a 2011 R18 motor in a 06 Honda??
@@LtSnipe37 yes definitely
@@codycarlson9441 Thank you buddy I appreciate it
Thanks so much bro foxwell worked
NICE! You are set... I have a short story.... I was a on off tech and then got a shop at 35 years old.. I only had a GM Goodwrench like 350 piece set and I was worried, BUT I made tools, ran to the harbor, lucked out at autozone but I did it.... I fixed cars no shop could... SO, my moral of this is that you are there and I want to see you in 10 years with that same box in your new shop, I promise you theres only 1 way.... HARD WORK!...
The color is fire 🔥
You've got a nice setup for the home, glad you don't feel the need to buy the "Best" products. Only thing I could suggest is maybe the Vessel JIS screwdrivers. I just used the #3 JIS philips on a WR426F and what a great fit with no hint of slipping under heavy load. Wish I had these back in the mid 80's when I started wrenching on my Suzukis. Not sure if they even still use philips on newer vehicles but if they do....
I have a Astro ai mk4 multi meter with backlight button from Amazon $45 bought that and a 18-25 pc electrical testing set
The tool creeper is a great idea. Never saw those before.
Lol looks like you have more rachets than sockets
Definitely perfect set up for a at home diy guy. Could use a cordless ratchet tho. One of my favorite tools.
Look into tekton man better quality and cheap price
Sounds like you quickly noticed and admitted the Quality difference in the Snap-on Ratchet vs the HF-Icon Junk….the is even more quality in specialty tools built by Snap-on vs HF-Icon. My motto is to find the best tool for a reasonable price and invest once, such as my favorite (Carlyle from NAPA) which is competitive priced with NO hassle Lifetime Warranty. NAPA has stores all across the country and they offer great service.
Can I ask why you don't like the icon ratchets? I have a ton and like them more than any ratchet I've ever used. I've never used a snap on one so maybe thats what I'm missing out on.
How can I differentiate between the 1.8 and 1.6 in civic 2006 8th gen
Very nice setup my man. Glad to see somebody that actually has a brain in their head. Somebody that doesn't have to have the most expensive tools to actually work.
@@larrydudgeon2846 thanks my man!
@@codycarlson9441 I buy budget friendly tools myself and I work on cars all the time. Building a US General tool box, Frankenbox
There's going to be a 40% for the icon ratchet this upcoming August. I didn't see you had triple square and 6 points as well. Sockets I do cheap out on haven't had a problem with it, and I abuse them with my impact stubby 3/8.
If you like Snap On ratchets, try a Koken. The backdrag is incredible. Not cheap but worth every penny in my opinion.
@@Ninersfanatic79 I’ll check it out. Thank you!
I’ve been pretty happy with my HFT stuff.
Nice box. I been wanting that box. It's worth it for what i do. Diy weekend warrior. I could put all my tools in one box instead of 3 small tool chests. The drawers in my tool chest aint big enough for some of my longer wrenches and prybars.
My man swapped an engine on the road… DAM GANGSTER 👏👏👏👏
Get some decent impacts, and you will start to use them more.
Nice box/ setup !
I love the blue
That blue always looks so amazing in pics and video
Yeah honestly it looks so different then the stock photos on their website
Nice toolbox man i always go to hf when there a deal or a coupon i never pay anything full price anymore lol
I bought the Icon semi deeps recently for a similar reason. Really liking them
Cool setup 👍🏼 keep it going thanks for sharing
looks like u never used ur tools bro
@@vplacio hahaha yeah they are too shiny for my liking too. Lots of them are newer so need to put them to work
How long did it take you in total if you know?
@@AtoriKushina probably like 12-14hrs total but took my time
All that money spent on Icon snap ring pliers, picks, extensions, and you cheap out on cheap torque wrenches😅. Just admit you're a HF fan boy, lol.
@@marioj3766 hahahahaha😂 I do agree
I want to try the icon torque wrench. Ready to retire my tekton one!
But has a snap on ratchet, so now icon ratchets aren’t cool enough. Lol
I've found out that the quick release on my ratchets is a must. I reach for them more consistently than my non quick release ratchets.
Why do people judge? Why do you have to be a fan boy of HF if you have a bunch of tools from there. Nothing but a POS. 🤦
Buddy buy a decent torque wrench and always torque to spec. Thank me later. Good video
This !
Nice box and set up.
Is the JDM still running okay? I’m working on my girlfriend’s car and I’ve mostly heard negative things about imported engines. Thank you tons for your videos I couldn’t do this without you
@@Antique_Loft I appreciate it. And yes it’s running great. Haven’t had any problems.
THANK YOU BROTHER, I APPRECIATE THIS.
how long did the removal and swap take total?
@@Colin-gl5hc mmm I’d say like 14hrs in labor time. But not unreasonable to get it done in 8-12
@@Colin-gl5hc starter took the longest for me. I’d recommend taking the intake manifold off before. Way easier access that way
Did you torque up the Crank Bolt I can’t find the torque specs
@@Omarvro1 I didn’t torque it to spec but used a decent amount of force
Your rush duel dark magician girl looks incredible! Where did you get it?
Where did you buy the jdm motor from? Looking for a replacement rn
Redline JDM in Ontario CA. Highly recommend them
Nice and simple explainer, cheers
I’m about to buy one and try it on my car let’s see if this actually works
It will. Haven’t had a single issue in like a year
My block is crack 😢
Do you think this is close enough to a 2013 Honda civic that I could follow along and it still be applicable?
Definitely!
Just curious why you went with the jdm one? I just bought a Honda stream that has the r18a are they not known to crack? Thanks
Good helpful video!
I like it! Just started re-collecting my childhood collection again. Right now I'm working on the PS1 games, next I will go for the N64 ones (I didn't have many as a kid, only like 30 or so). For N64 I'll probably just go for CIB versions since mostly they are all $100 or less minus a few titles
Thanks so much
How the motor crack? Where? Anything u could do to prevent it?
At the casting lines in the back. Most crack in the front. It was a manufacturing defect
@@codycarlson9441 i bought a used 07 and it has 240k miles on it.. im wondering if that defect has already been taken care of by now or im living on borrowed time...
@@BACONNWRAPPED Idk why he didn't reply because that's a great question. But at 200k plus miles I'm sure that engine is fine. Barely breaking in for the R18.
Hey Cody I’m looking to do this swap as well. Also in CA. Were you able to pass smog with the JDM motor?
Yes it will pass smog. Just use your stock EGR and you’ll be good👍
did an engine swap on my 2010 tsx recently. Resting rpm was 1.5-1.8k. Found this video after much searching. Gave it a try and boom it’s idling at around 800rpm now. Thank you so much!
