They weren’t bland - there was inbuilt tension and the stakes were high because we already knew she was dreaming about commitment and he was commitment-phobic. So every time Chandler actually took another step in commitment, and every time Monica sacrificed her perfect fantasy for a messier reality, it was so beautiful! ❤ People loved it because the writers didn’t have to make up tension to keep it interesting, it was built in - so they were refreshingly loving and positive! 🥰

Wow, this video is underrated.

I give credit to Matthew Perry how their storyline was defined. There was a story that he is supposed to be hooking up with someone after that Monica/Richard thing. They have already rehearsed but he has a change of heart. He said America will never forgave him if he becomes unfaithful to Monica. I guess he is loyal thru and thru and possessive if you may say because he becomes very jealous of Monica. He doesn’t want Monica flirtatious. I love the character of Chandler!!! Loyal, Honest, loving and generous.

No, I DID NOT love the Rachel/Ross writing disaster. I always considered Monica/Chandler as the writer's apology to the fans over what they did to Rachel/Ross. They turned them both into the biggest asses and losers of the 1990s sitcoms.

I think I'm the only one, but I call them #Chanica as it sounds much prettier (plus I like to go against the majority lol). After my beautiful #Chanica got together... I remember looking back through earlier seasons and particular episodes always made me wonder if Chandler had always had feelings for Monica. Before they got together, I couldn't help but notice throughout the show? The way he looked at her, how close they were, they knew each other's secrets, had ultimate trust in each other, they'd hold one another, the way they held each other in the episode where Janice asks if the group almost did anything with any of the others, Chandler suggesting they marry and have a baby when they're 40 when he's terrified of commitment? Then he asked her if she'd date him in "The One At The Beach." AFTER they get together, we even find out that Monica had a major crush on Chandler when they first met. That he was the driving force behind her losing weight, then he sees her a year later and forms an attraction to her (it annoyed me that we found that out AFTER they got together, but I guess either they didnt think of that, find it relevant, or didn't wanna leave any breadcrumbs or hints. I'm SO glad they kept these guys together. They are one of the best couple's on TV, EVER! THANK you to the writers for listening to us fans and delivering us, not only the best couple? But delivering us from the ANNOYANCE/bordering on BORING and selfish couple of Ross and Rachel. OMG, I think, again, I'm one of the only fans who loved the idea of Rachel and Joey. ANYTHING to get away from the toxicity of Ross and Rachel, that I felt became forced, rushed, predictable, and boring in the end. #TEAMCHANICAFOREVER!

The weird thing is that even though the writers had not plan the couple, they did write Monica and Chandler being close together and having moments that would suggest something might be brewing in the previous seasons before their hookup. In season 1, Chandler suggested that they'd get together if neither of them were married at 40. They shared secrets together that they didn't share with the others. They also often sat close together. Monica watching Chandler sleep. Looking at those moments, you'd think the writers had planned it.

They are so gay, even the Director of Luca thinks its love!

I think this skips over the fact that most men have both a soft side, and an aggresive side. Both are portrayed in media. Look at capitan america crying for Bucky, or Kratos mourning for Faye.

The best couple of the whole show. Phoebe married too fast and the Ross-Rachel are acting like teenagers immature. I like discover Monica and Chandler before having kids, they really changed positively. Great idea to put them together. I only regret that their relationship begins with a hot night instead of discover their feelings.
