    I really wish that I had watched this video and saw the truly unbelievable and unbearable amount of static that this grinder produces on the lid, glass catch bin and honestly the whole front of the grinder and all over you our counter top before I had ordered my Km5 grinder! Don’t get me wrongTechnivorm makes a totally awesome brewer. In fact we own a KBT 741 and just purchased a KBGV brewer and they are perfect!! With that said, I will also say that the grinder is very well built, and in fact the quietest grinder I’ve ever heard but…. Trying to deal with this kind of mess day in and day out that this grinder produces every morning is just unacceptable and unbearable. I returned the grinder. please believe this video, there really is this much mess and even more!!

    I just ordered this grinder on Saturday for espresso, along with the Ode 2 for pour over, upgrading from the Eureka Crono & Varia VS3. I’ll be grinding into a portafilter, so the only thing that truly bothers me is the dial indicator, even finding a way to cover the hexagonal end would’ve been so great! I’m looking forward to seeing how it does in the cup! Which is what truly matters!

    Pésima compra. Filtrar ahí es complicado, es delicada, es costosa, los filtros no son fáciles de conseguir y puedes hacer lo mismo o mejor con un v60 .

      @@ghostup101 just water :) a small amount of moisture on the beans helps reduce static during grinding and leads to a more even grind.

    Is this grinder only for espresso?

    • @johndough4422

      Works for all brew methods. So far I'm doing espresso around 17 clicks and pourover around 75 clicks. I'm sure it will also do French Press and cold-brew just fine.as there are 90 "steps".

    I was at a coffee shop recently and this machine was in fact pretty quiet. I was impressed. Quieter than my Kitchenaid espresso grinder at 76db.

    I am looking for a simple espresso machine, where the process of making an espresso the water never comes in contact with a piece of plastic or aluminum. Do you have any model that complies with that?

    • @ChrisS3617
      @ChrisS3617 Рік тому

      The only one I can think of that isn't a professional lever machine like an all stainless or copper/brass La Pavoni (and those are like 1000 USD on the low end.) is a Flair PRO but it has a pressure gauge that looks to use some plastics. Though the contact would be very minimal. The Flair body is made up of cast aluminum but all the brewing parts are stainless steel. But if you want absolutely zero plastic or aluminum I would recommend a V60 pour over setup. you can get very nice glass and ceramic V60 brewers and brew into a similar material container. Otherwise your looking at a cafe or professional grade machine as far as I am aware.

    Hi @explorationcoffee I have the upgraded version of staresso sp 200 bought last november. I realized that the pump has a crooked tip. I see yours has it too in this video but no close up shot to confirm it. The pump tip of SP 200 mini from your other video looks straight. Is this a possible defective product?

    I have the older one, it was little cheaper. It uses both pods and ground coffee. Pods are the way to go if you are going to make several shots. ( saves needing running water and much less mess ) A kuerig EZ scoop like you use on refillable kuerig pods works great for filling and tamping loose coffee. Staresso should make an optional immersion brewer designed to fit the fill tank. If you want to use the sp200 like the mini version, you can easily leave the bottom part behind. I brew the coffee into the cup from the 16ounce Starbucks Stanly thermos I use to carry hot water. They should sell extra glasses as well. I did find a set of glass espresso cups from Amazon that will work. I got those as a back in case I break the original. If I upgrade it will be to the sp300

      I have the old model and the Nespresso pods do not work consistently. Many times the pod is not punctured properly, either the holes on the wide foil side don't go thru or the bigger hole on the narrower side. Have you found it to work properly all the time? I really want the pods to work because I want to use it for travel. Once in a while a pod will puncture right and the coffee is great. But it take a lot of tries. I'm trying to figure out what may be wrong with it but I don't see anyone else reporting problems.
