Landing on an (almost) Aircraft Carrier!
Good episode Alan! The repeated play splicing/editing was a nice touch. Gotta get down to Buffalo Ridge! The right turn on short final into 16 reminded me of the approach to Snow Hill 👏
Very similar but not as sharp although you have to loose altitude quicker due to the trees right off the end of the runway
great video, the low approach looked a bit tight in the tree line, but that was probably just the lens effect. Love watching your stuff.
Thanks for the kudos! It is pretty tight with the trees but it was a perfectly still day so no concerns with downdrafts
Do you have 2 planes?
@@hackerzol Yes. The Beech Sundowner and the Taylorcraft
@@bigorangebird7499 Nice!
Nice! I too love to find grass to land my 1946 Champ. I fly out of Eufaula Alabama and enjoy exploring with the Champ. When you flew through Alabama a year or so ago and landed at Ware island in the middle of the Coosa River, I called Mr. Meyer’s the owner and traveled there myself. Super fun!
That was one of my favorite trips ever and Ware Island was one of my favorite fields!
Glad to see you helping Mr. White. Not a doubt in my mind that you would be though.
Thank you.
Great video, a Funk and a T-craft banging around the mountains hitting the grass strips. A friend and his wife (now dec.) would take theirs each year from San Diego to Coffeyville Kansas for the Funk fly-in.
The Funk is a great plane and very capable!
Did you weight the stuff when you were loading your plane?
Yes. Every item was weighed and added up for all of the aircraft
Great work and great video. I am an old sailplane pilot but seeing these powered flights makes me want to do that as well. Nice of Boone to leave some trees on the end of the runway or maybe it is the golf course's fault. I do want to commend Samaritan's Purse as well for the amazing work they have done. For people like me, wanting to help but don't know how...send them a donation...you can do it online in seconds.
Samaritan's Purse and also Operation Blessing both of them doing spectacular work along with soo many other people. Incredible.
Great work!
1. FEMA does have the people for search and rescue. They don't have boats, small helicopters, pack mules, communication, food, and so on. 2. FEMA has a contract that takes care of all of that. They sub everything out. 3. The people that volunteer most of them have the experience to get back in real bad places. 4. People from all over the country come in to help so people can get back up. That has been going on for a long time. It took b 10:10 ush over 7 days to get help in New Orleans. That want be the last time.
That's all true. The governmental response is always slow to get up and rolling. That's where neighbors helping neighbors come in.
Bravo, one and all! Job well and beautifully done!
Some angels do have wings
I guess I'm Angels do have wings
Stuff like this reminds me why this country is the best in the world
Amen!
Praise God for the air beneath your wings and the heart you showed with others for our fellow man just to try to fulfill the beads you could. Congratulations and God bless you all. Well done!
My hubby and I were watching your video.. You parked next to us N432WW in Johnson County, TN. When the black Hawk was there. We had just finished unloading our plane with supplies. My husband flew 29 mission 6,800 lbs out of Statesville NC. We are located in Asheboro, NC. It was such a humbling experience as well as educational. I flew with him this particular day to witness the love that WE the PEOPLE were helping WE the PEOPLE… Thank you for taking you time and plane to help!
Thanks so much. 29 Missions? WOW! Y'all are great people!
Spectacular!
BRAVO ZULU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED….GOD BLESS YOU ALL…THAT SHOWS THE WORLD THAT GA IS ALWAYS READY FOR THE CALL!!!!
You bet! GA folks are the best!
Thank you for doing this! I live in Asheville and our town was smashed by Helene! I fly out of Rutherford (FQD) and have a Super Musketeer. Great to see your Sundowner and how you used it for this!!
Are you a member of the Beech Aero Club? I feel for you in Asheville. You were hammered hard!
My heart just swells with pride watching you and all these good people giving so much of yourselves to help complete strangers! That’s what it’s all about!! May God bless you Alan and all the others! You are the backbone of America and God’s hands and feet here on earth!!
I live in Orange Beach, Al and flown into Dauphin Is., many times. It’s too freakin cool. I watch your channel regularly. Love the information you share. Thank you One quick question: I have an opportunity to buy a TaylorCraft in very good condition and wondered if you have preference between your two planes? Thanks
Great job every one ! God bless you all! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great content. High production value. Keep rolling the camera and flying blue skies. 👍👍👏👏🇺🇲🇺🇲
Pretty safe bet all those planes can’t carry what one c130 can.
And where are you going to land the C130?
Pretty safe bet that C130 can't service dozens of stricken area airports all at the same time!
@@metalman69201 Not at the 2 airports I went in to!
@@bigorangebird7499Is your plane a Musketeer or a Sundowner, or neither? That color combo and checkerboard pattern is pretty practical if you ever went down, heaven forbid.
@@tebelshaw9486 It's a Sundowner.
G.A. pilots are the best during emergencies!!! Witnessed it during Hurricane Harvey.
You bet! GA folks are the best!
Thank all of you for doing Gods work. May God Bless From Rocky Top, TN.
Proud of you dad!!! ❤
Christian America at work!
You've got that right!
Thanks for your part in helping those in need. I have to say that showing the inmates helping with the disaster relief was the most interesting part of the video because you are the only UA-camr that I've seen show this kind of help and it should be shown on the news to let people know that anyone who's able can help. I pray that this will show people how unnecessary looting is if they would just ask for help when they need it. I've watched videos of the potential looters carrying weapons and trying to inspect aid when they didn't have authority. Maybe they should be wearing the orange suits instead. Bless you and all those who helped. I am not able to do any more than pray because of health issues, but I love encouraging videos and yours is definitely doing that.
The inmates were so happy to be there helping. It was very heartwarming to see. They especially were proud to meet with the soldiers from the Blackhawk helicopter.
JESUS Saves.
Praise be to God for the awesome gifts He has given to all of these pilots so they could help others....
Biffle was on his UA-cam channel the other day thanking All the people who helped with planes and helicopters bringing supplies!! He wants to honor you guys. Check out his channel for info. Great job!!!❤❤❤❤
General aviation does not get enough credit for all they have done, and all they do during times of disasters like these! Our little airport in Lincolnton NC has been flying up some supplies also! Didn't realize Samaritans Purse had their own Blackhawk helicopter! Learn something every day!
I didn't either. I think they were actually contracting with the owner.
Solid work. Rad bird!
great landing ! mtn air can be tricky.
No crazy mfer trying to arrest you for offering help like in Lake lure?
Get out of the way of the professionals !! Stop being a hero your not
What professionals? Didn't see any on any of our trips other than Samaritan's Purse. If they were actually there, volunteers wouldn't have to do all of the work. Oh, and thanks for calling me a hero. I would have never done that myself!
Oh, and my flight into Boone was at the request of the County Sheriff.
@@bigorangebird7499 You did a good deed no matter what an idiot (dave) writes on yt.

Outstanding dedication thank you for your willingness to help all those in need !
BEAUTIFUL! Nothing like people coming together to help those in need. No questions asked. And you hit that caption on the head : Landing VFR, Taxiing IFR was right hahahaa. Beautiful image of the runway on final.
That was a very interesting landing!
I couldn’t fly a load on Saturday but took about 300 lbs to northeast Tennessee on Sunday. About 6 other planes landed while I was there.
They were busy!
Well done bud!
Very heartwarming grate job.
I got my PVT SEL back in 1981 in a Beech Sundowner N6708R, great little airplane. Nice to see one on UA-cam. Great work!
Thank YOU and ALL the over volunteers !!!!
Thank you for your efforts.
FEMA does not do their job. ELON will cut that also, and rebuild.
With all the BS going these days, it is so refreshing to see all the good that actually is going on, a HUGE KUDO to all the volunteers in this operation. God Bless all
Wow, this is really great. I hope to be able to do stuff like this soon. I just passed my check-ride last Friday. I'm based out of KLUA, we flew to KSHD for the takeoff and landings. That runway goes for days!
Wings of God Great job
Thank you and all the pilots that participated and all the volunteers that helped you load and unload.
