Talbot Type M Circuit de la Sarthe Le Mans 24 Hours
On a recent tour (Sept 24) with the UK VCC we deviated and completed a lap of the public sections of the 24H circuit. This was in a 1912 Talbot, a car which pre dates the race by 11 years.

Qualifying from the Race of Champions Xtra event. Unfortunately the gopro had a bit of a fart and failed to record the race. But I qualified 2nd and went on to win the race in an exciting battle. Setting a new personal best of 35.624S

A special evening with some very experienced karters. 22 Drivers each getting 4 10 Laps races. Grids were random draws. Points awarded through the evening decided a top 6 for a final shoot out. In my fourth and last race I started in 4th and finsihed 5th of 5 after an ambitious move into turn 1 that didnt pay off.

A special evening with some very experienced karters. 22 Drivers each getting 4 10 Laps races. Grids were random draws. Points awarded through the evening decided a top 6 for a final shoot out. In my third race I started in fouth and finsihed 3rd of 5. I set a new personal best lap of 35.738 seconds having improved slowly all evening.

Our first try on the new electric karts. We have to say theyre amazing, so much better than petrol for indoor. The boost button is a great gadget. After starting third and falling down the pack while battling, I recoverd to 3rd with 2nd just in sight.

Early 944 noisey gearshifts, cause was found to be failed mounts. "Clunks" Can be heard as the box moves around. But its just as easy to go under and have a look, if theyre orignal, then its pretty certain that by now theyve failed. Getting on for 40 years old.

100% stock. The dampers and brakes were new when I bought it, that was it. Otherwise everything was as Smart made it. Cheers, it was great fun, just like a big gokart
Lateral forces of 1.0 G is not bad at all....for a more or less standard roadcar.
Its very light and has very wide tyres. This helped a lot with being able to tip it in to the corners!

I notice that, despite the common criticism of the Roadster's gearbox, that MX5 isn't getting away under acceleration.
The bos is slow, in auto its useless on a track, it cant think fast enough and never downshifts enough. In semi auto you can learn to get it up the box as well as a manual. but going down, it will refuse to give you the gear unless its ready.
Good job keeping up with that MX-5. Not bad for a 0.7L turbo. Has it been remapped?

I was there in the Abarth 124 Spider, I loved seeing this car out there! I think it's a great looking car!
The 124 sounded mega. Iv got a decent shit of you goin passed. The roadster was great fun, but the boost controller failed about 1030. So the rest of the day I had to stay away from 100% throttle and after 4 laps it would drop into limp mode. Bit of a spoiler. Still got some laps in though. How did you get on?

@@jamesbroad7916 Aw no, sorry to hear about the boost controller, hopefully it's an easy fix. I managed pretty good throughout the day, no issues, managed to set a personal best lap time chasing one of the Lotuses lol.
@@stirado26 I think it is, ive ordered the part. 5 minute job to fit. Ill find out thursday. Sounds like you did well! Are you local to the track?
@@jamesbroad7916 yes, I'm actually only 20 minutes away, so I come here a lot to test out new upgrades. This time I was testing out some Gloc R12 pads.
What tyres do you have on this?
Pilot sport 3 on the front and falken fk452 on the back.

Thanks, the car has a lot more to give. It was my first time on track in it and I was being very careful with the wheels. I was around 1.5 seconds a lap faster this month as I took more risks.
