I have been competing in USPSA since 2010 and the videos shown here are snap shots in time of my shooting sports journey. I currently hold Grand Master classifications in Production and Limited division. DVC!
CAPS UTAH • July 2024
Match number 4 in the books. I could have done without the rain but it was a good learning experience while using the new sighting system.

No expectations today. Just wanted to see the dot move up and down. Was surprised to have got master class scores on three of the four stages. The grind continues! 💪🏽

Besides the brutal 100° temps, today was a great day on the range! Today was all about experiencing the optic and making sure my gear ran in a match setting. I have a lot to learn visually when it comes to these dots and look forward to seeing why everyone has moved over. We go again next weekend! @vudoogunworks priest @olightworld osight

I gave in and decided to get into the pistol dot game. Ran about 250 rounds through it today without any issues. More tests and matches to come! 🤙🏽 @vudoogunworks @modernwarriorsut @PFIDude @olightworld

After not having touched my pistols for 3 weeks, it was great just to be out. Decided to just go for it and see if the vision could keep up. The gun handling wasn’t as sharp today but kind of expected it. Something is in the works… maybe a dot gun coming soon!

Looking real sharp! 🔥
@@vmanshooting Thanks dude. I’m trying.
More Squatting at Caps....You did well buddy
@@derkhopkins They would have been squats for you! 😜
Amazing well done.
Crushing as always! Bummed I missed match. Looks like a good time
I’m trying dude. This dot thing is killing me!
That's with factory ammo!!! Jesus Christ, that shoots flat!! Mine is on order. How long did it take to get yours?
@@Wolfen6 I got lucky and found this in-stock online.
Movement + strong hand and weak hand sounds like a good test!
@@kevinizatt I didn’t have the dot during weak hand initially. Something I’ve been working on all week.
Does the slide to frame fit have any wiggle?
@@airmann4673 None. I was surprised when I first picked it up and now having over 1k rounds through it, it’s still just as tight. I have handled a couple of other vudoo priests locally and they do have a slight “wiggle”.
I cant find any info on Cache practical shooters anymore. Their website doesnt exist. I used to go to these but cant find anything else. Do you have any info on these matches?
@@prestonclawson5635 This CAPS match happens on the fourth Saturday of each month. Search “CAPS” under matches in Practiscore and you can sign up there. I’m not sure what happened to the old Utah Shooters website but assume they have transitioned to social media platforms for announcements. I’m not on those popular social media sites, so I’m not certain. I just make sure to look up the match in Praciscore and sign up each month. I hope this helps. Hopefully you can start making it back out. 🤙🏽
How you liking your Vudoo? I have been very impressed with mine.
@@Adam_B_Shooting Really liking it so far. Just broke over 1k through it this weekend and haven’t had an issue. Now if I can only figure out this dot thing. 🤣
@@LeoDeLeon707 dot is the way.
Fast AF in limited. You’re going to be a demon in LO.
@@KurtisReed We’ll see. This dot thing is weird. 🤙🏽
Going full send on a stage is so fun and often results in better scores ironically, provided you hit the target at all. We're capable of more than we realize sometimes. I have to say the craziest example was at a PCSL match a while back. Last shooter on the last stage of the day decided he needed to get out some match frustrations and went "Iraq Mode". Sent so much lead downrange that several RO's came running from other squads, thinking something was wrong.
Is that the new vortex red dot Leo?
@@n8valdez256 No, this is the olight osight. 🤙🏽
Hold up just a minute! You're switching AFTER Utah State, right?!
Hows that olight running?
Awesome👍 , I was thinking about getting one of these but I heard it's a long wait
Why would you put an osight on it?
For $200, it was worth testing.
Did you get the heavy version?
Yeah, it’s the heavy version.
@@LeoDeLeon707 I was eye balling that, you’ll have to let me pick your brain on it next match
It'll be cool to see you compete in LO!
YAAAAAAY. FUCK LIMITED
Limited is still fun. Just hard to stay motivated when nobody is shooting it.
Ngl the Olight looks clean on it but man is it a subpar optic.
I’ve seen the mixed reviews. For $200, it is worth trying.
Great aim
Well done Leo!!
Thanks Mark! Hopefully we see you see? 🤙🏽
👏👏
Looking sharp and solid bro !
Thanks dude. I think my iron sight days are numbered though…
is the prize table by finish or by drawing??? they give guns away?......
Random draw for all prizes. One thing that draws folks to our state match. If I’m not mistaken, over 15 guns were given away last year.
👏👏👏
That a 1911? It was mostly a blur
A double stack 1911. Essentially a 2011 but not from Staccato.
Is that tool-less guide rod failure common?
After talking to others who have experienced this or have seen others experience this, it’s not a matter of if it happens but when. Even though I have about 18k rounds on my pistol while using it, I will never use one again.
@@LeoDeLeon707 I appreciate the info. I've been running one on the LO Staccato but I'm still under 10K on that one. I like the ease of assembly/disassembly so I got one for the SS 1911 I'm about to start using, but hadn't considered it as a failure point. I guess I'll have to pick up EGW or two.
@@UncleZo I’ve never had one fail but knew it was still a consumable part and expected it to fail at some point. If you decide to run one, maybe changing it at 10-15k would be a good practice. Doing it is just tough to do when they are $100 versus a regular guide rod being $30-$50.
@@LeoDeLeon707 Again I appreciate the info. Changing them out around 10-15K sounds like a plan and $30-50 is more appealing. Anyway, good chooting!
hot dayum bro hahaha. good stuff
dirt nasty. good work
Crushed it!
Well done bruddah! Long time no see since IPSC Nats! - Edrick
Yo! It’s been way too long! I hope all is well!
Well done Leo!
I hope you’re doing well, Mark!
👏👏👏👏
What are you shooting with ?
A gun built by D2 Customs out in PA.
👏👏
Solid 🔫
Finally Somebody realizes this song is tuff 😅
American cops in Detroit 😂
난 볼 때마다 이 연습이 얼마나 구린지 느낌. 차라리 눈을 가린 상태로 표적의 위치를 모른 상태로 시작하면 실전에서 좋은 효과를 불러오지 않을까 생각됨.
Gran trabajo!!!👏👏👏
Muchas gracias! 🙏🏽
👏👏👏
Is it worth it to go back to take the activator? I’m not sure what the rules are, but would it be a FTSA for the swinger? 🔥🔥 runs as always. So much control
It probably would have been worth it. I got a miss on the steel, 2 misses and a FTSA on the swinger. All good though. It was a fun day. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Looking good on the steel. Looking like you were robbed on the swinger stage.
@@LeoDeLeon707 haha damn, brutal.
@@kevinizatt I lost the calibration and it happens. I had another stage I completely bombed that kept me out of contention. We go again next weekend at LTD!
Why did you only shoot one round each at the double swingers ?
I shot 2 shots at each swinger. It may have looked that way cause I shot the 2nd swinger at the very end.
Hey man, really like the channel. How long did it take for you to make GM? Any tips would be appreciated.
First off, thanks for watching! My first GM card was in production and it took me just under 5 years. After I made the switch to limited, it took me another 2.5 years to get that. My biggest piece of advice for anyone shooting our game is to seek out knowledge, take classes and most importantly, have fun!
no transitions?
Not this time. I wanted to isolate the shots and had one target for each hand out to about 15ish yards.
👏👏
im trying to get into limited, but waiting for a reloading set up to gradually land in my lap 😂
Great job! Always awesome shooting with you. Hopefully see ya SLPSA match soon. Ray
