Things have improved, the FIA at F1 level events have for some years now, not let just anyone sign up to it without experience. You also can’t go trackside unless told to do by race control now, which has its good and bad points, safer and reduces the risk of an incident involving a marshal, but negative because if there’s a driver stuck etc you have to leave them there. Club events are still just a free for all tbh, common sense plays a role and you’re always paired up to watch each other’s back. Still, the worst thing you can do is fall over on TV 🤣
