Interesting. I received a new car out of the blue. I actually saw a listing someone had online and they had literally found this car after moving into their new apartment a week ago and the cat came to their window and they took it in but it didn’t get along with the other cat so they wanted to give the stray cat away etc. I can’t help but feel that the social media app I was on was that bridge for this cat to find me. Why? Idk.

Does anyone have any insight into caregivers having dreams about the person they are caring for before they pass? This segment is speaking of the dying but what about the person that is doing the care. I was a caregiver to someone I knew, living with early onset. When she transitioned to memory care I continued to play a huge role in her life focusing on her social wellbeing. I took her out all the time. A few months before she died I had a dream that while I was attending to another client that she went to the door and was trying to turn the knob to get out. I looked over at the wall and their was a map on the wall with the emphasis in the dream the title which said Grass Roots. by the time I turned back around she had got the door open and began to run. I started running after her call her name and she began to run faster and faster out of reach so I stopped running and she disappeared.

I adopted my puppy spontaneously because he was so cute and sweet, I just had to be with him. He turned out to be VERY needy and codependent. That’s exactly how I was when I adopted him and have only recently healed this aspect of me a few years ago (he’s 14 now). I realized quite a few years ago that we matched each others vibration when I adopted him. I’m a firm believer that there are no accidents when it comes to our pets. ❤ Edit: I should add that I studied why he was so needy and how I could help him be more independent and I learned that if I react to his neediness (with love and kisses), it teaches him to keep being that way. So I had to recover my own neediness in order to help him!! And in turn he’s done that for me in other areas (he helped me get sober!)

I have been listening to your podcasts for sometime and have always felt that you are so wise and so dedicated to help humanity in this D&D arena❤ I have no idea why I am so called to work with death & dying, as I worked on the other end of the spectrum ( moms & babes) for nearly 30 years! I feel like this is the areas I need to focus on at this point in my life❤️💐blessings and thanks to you Karen

when my sister passed May 16, 2024.she was in a Nursing Home due to having 3 Brain Tumors and the local hospital ended hospice care. and when she was still very lucid and even able to us a phone. Visions, she seen of different people enter her room it always happened after visiting hours. but she would call us the next morning and tell us who was there that night. she called one morning and said Jesus entered her room and sat down and talked to her. she couldn't wait to tell us all about it. she said she could not see his face but said it was him. and sometimes she would ask why certain people had not visited her. Who had already passed on and we would tell her that they would be there they were busy or sick and the moment and would eventually come. a Hospice Nurse came in about twice a week, from a different town but all the nurses gave my sister the best care and love because she did not put up with any other patient's bull and they loved her because of it. could never ask for the greatest love and care they showed her

This is such a beautiful way of putting it. I am a nurse and so I see things differently. But my family was so scared of the morphine when my grandmother was dying with lung cancer. Unfortunately, she died an awful, stressful, dyspneic death. I had to step out the last 3 weeks of her life bc they would not medicate her therapeutically. She was not talking or really opening her eyes at that point so I said my goodbyes bc I knew that she had already slipped away. The body just needed to give up. But this is such a great way of explaining it. ❤

My mother died from cancer at home. She got to where she couldn't swallow the liquid pain medicine her doctor prescribed but he wouldn't change the order. My doctor prescribed morphine by injection and my girlfriend who was a CMA was able to pick it up and administer it. She gave my mom have the syringe and we placed the rest in the fridge for later. My mom passed away the next morning. I was thankful that her last hours were spent as pain free as possible thanks to a caring doctor and my awesome friend.

On interpreting death bed visions of famous people like Steve Jobs saying “WOW” , what was the “WOW” of the famous Rogers & Hammerstein ? Many people cry when listening to Edelweiss song of the Sound of Music & do not understand WHY? I think I can explain WHY……. I did some research on the life of Oscar Hammerstein II as I also lived in Manhattan & studied at Columbia U where he got his law degree.... I am able to interpret what was really on his mind....I made the following comment on UA-cam To better appreciate the meaning of Oscar Hammerstein’s Edelweiss lyrics, one needs to know that he was dying of stomach cancer when he wrote the “last song for the “Sound of Music Musical”. It is the last song because the early audience of the Broadway Show of this musical asked “ Why did all the family of Von Trapp sing but the Captain did not sing?? So Hammerstein was asked to quickly come up with the lyrics that would accompany the melody Mr. Rogers would right…a farewell song melody… I believe Hammerstein dying of cancer is imagining himself transitioning from farewell Earth to Hello…into “his homeland heaven greeted by a beautiful white flower every morning” Imagine it is the end of winter in Heaven & the first flower of Spring in Heaven's homeland is this white flower happy to greet him……” “May you bloom and grow Bloom and grow forever... Edelweiss...Edelweiss... Bless my homeland forever...(Time does not exist in Heaven, Edelweiss blooms FOREVER!!!) From Wikipedia..”Richard Rodgers felt Captain von Trapp should have a song with which he would “bid farewell “ to the Austria he knew and loved.[1] Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II decided to write an extra song that von Trapp would sing towards the end of the show.[2] …. Edelweiss" is the last song Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote together; Hammerstein was suffering from stomach cancer,[3] which took his life nine months.

Dr Wyatt, thank you for this insightful and uplifting interview with Danielle! About your question whether to adopt a dog due to your travel - There may be a wonderful option! Did you know some animal shelters and rescues offer a program where dog lovers may “check out” a shelter dog so that it can get a much needed break from the stress of kennel life? Such brief respites of a walk, car ride or simply play time, have been found to help lower the blood pressure in dogs, be more calm, and more adoptable. The pups greatly benefit from the one-on-one attention and extra TLC too! I personally witnessed how heartwarming and life changing this program is for the dogs and participants - myself included! Staff often quip they can’t tell who receives more joy from the experience - the dog or the human? I hope this offers a wonderful way for you to share your love with dogs during the moments you can “paws”. 💖

Up until two years ago, I had three pups. My elder dachsie, raised from a tiny, tiny pup, and two rescues, both arriving with some pretty major issues. I have learned so much from all of them, but after my AmBully got frustrated with her, and bit down too hard, causing irreparable injury, I lost my little girl at age 15. She knew, and somehow, I knew that the day it happened would be her last day. She pranced around the garden with such freedom and joy that morning that it worried me. It's like she understood what was to happen and was okay with it. I miss her every day, but I think my AmBully "sees" her hanging out with us. For about 10 days after her passing, I could feel a sensation of her licking my face and arms the way she always had, as if to say, "I'm okay! It's great over here!" My little appendage still visits. I think to make sure I learned to forgive tragic miscalculations and to love her big brother. I couldn't explain, but I've always thought they had their own agreement. I've never said it to anyone, but I felt that message coming from her one day. She's still like a guardian angel. A tiny, but mighty...guardian angel. 💖 I have so many wonderful memories, and I'm making more with my two boys. But some days I miss her the most. She was very, very special.
