Strange World S1E13 Age of Reason (Series finale)
Strange World is an American television program which was translated on ABC in March 1999, before the network cancelled the program. The remaining ten episodes produced subsequently premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel in Spring 2002.
The series was created by Howard Gordon and Tim Kring, and starring Tim Guinee, Kristin Lehman, Vivian Wu, Saundra Quarterman, Arnold Vosloo and Peter Wingfield.
Since there are no official releases nor plans for one, and since this TV show is almost completely forgotten, I decided to upload it myself, in the best quality I could find. It is worth it (the series, as it is, is complete, with a proper beginning and end).
Synopsis:
Captain Paul Turner (Tim Guinee) is a doctor for The United States Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), who suffers from a rare form of aplastic anemia as a result of exposure to chemical weapons during the Persian Gulf War. USAMRIID major and old friend Lynne Reese (Saundra Quarterman) lures him out of his sickbed with the opportunity to bring justice to others suffering from unethical uses of science and technology. Unknown to his superiors, he is periodically given a temporary cure for the symptoms of his disease by a mysterious woman (Vivian Wu), who is a double agent of a shadowy organization that may be trying to thwart the goals of USAMRIID. Confused, afraid and not knowing whom to trust, Turner tries to piece his life back together again with the help of his girlfriend, Dr. Sydney MacMillan (Kristin Lehman).
Age of reason:
Turner's dependency on the drug as well as the goals of the shadowy conspiracy are revealed in this finale, making it akin to a miniseries.
I would still have watched a second season of this. I thought it all was pretty good (except the episodes too far from medecine, which I feel is the strong theme that made Strange World different).
The series was created by Howard Gordon and Tim Kring, and starring Tim Guinee, Kristin Lehman, Vivian Wu, Saundra Quarterman, Arnold Vosloo and Peter Wingfield.

What a nice series! IMDB reviewers see this as better than X-files, and I agree. The stories are better thought out. Unfortunately, it didn't have the fanfare and hence didn't go beyond one season.
Cool never watched it
I don't get it. Was the Burke buy creating baby clones of himself thinking that he can continue to live through them? I mean, obviously, that's not true or else identical twins wouldn't have separate minds of their own.
I like this one. Thank you
Oh no! They've revealed why putin and other leaders never leave there crap or DNA when visiting foreign countries. We've known designer diseases have been around for years.
7:59 20:46
Love this. It is definitely a lot like the x files
Wow that was incridable. To think this was made 10 years ago!!!! Great show. Are there anymore seasons??
Basically the wife continues the mission- missing holes on all this for him.
LOL warned about the iraqui bunkers hahahaha Nato and the united states gave and sold those weapons to iraqu!
Is there a second series? Addicted now lol great series ❤
The audio dubbing is exceptionally batty.
Top. Merci😊
She's going down with no protection. She's an idiot. And how did the surveyors miss that huge hole?!
Interesting music except... It reminds me of a British soap opera's opening credits music. Kind of "Downton Abby"ish. Still... What's wrong with that. It adds to the disconcertedness. So, a good thing I guess!
One thing I'm really liking about this series is that of the four main characters, three of them are women.
Great show 👍
Here we are some 25 yrs later, and how much has come to fruition?! They always seem to announce their plans ahead of time!
But our own govt fauci poisoning world with bioweapons
Fantastic series great actors
Can assume this would be the primary basis for the geopolitical forefront seen in earth final conflict? Indo Pacifica China war etc
Está en español la serie? Gracias.
The human being is the feeding species for them they.
Also check out "Jake 2.0" wherever you can find it.
I wish you'd made these at higher resolution. I don't mind 500 meg per episode for a good show at 720p.
The quality of the uploaded videos reflects the best quality available. There is no 720p source. There is no Bluray release, there is no DVD release, there is no VHS release even. All that publicly exists are these VCR-ed video with poor bitrate, poor compression and poor colors. No one knows the series. No one cares. If you want 720p from these, do it yourself. You will only worsen the image. Good luck.
@@HathnamedWell, 720p is one thing. But the recordings I made in MPEG-2 (native DVD format) from satellite are clearer, in a larger frame without enlargement resulting in pixelation. 720 x 504 or something, I think. And a pretty good bitrate too. The show itself was apparently produced in mostly low-light situations, it seems. I recorded them in segments, from commercial break to commercial break, so that eventually I can edit them together clean. I started doing that because I found in the past that just cutting out the commercial breaks from shows recorded as a single file might introduce problems in the playback.
@@skiptoloo9506 You made recordings of this show? In better quality? If so, you should upload them here, or share them otherwise. It is a completely forgotten show, and if it has no fans to maintain it, it will eventually disappear or be rendered unwatchable by youtube compression. I don't have the source recording, these uploads are from a source I found on the Internet. It was difficult, too; and there may be no other source (well, except maybe on closed trackers). I checked. For example, the source file which I uploaded for The Pilot weights 284 MB (of which 34 are for audio), and has a bitrate of only 800 kb/s.
@@skiptoloo9506don’t watch then
Someone should pick the series up again! It is a real threat
I love u 🤣🤣
Twilight Zone was (often) thought provoking, X-Files was suspenseful and Twin Peaks weird as heck. This show has nothing compelling in plot or episode concepts. The characters here are flat and less interesting than Mulder and Skully. The connecting storyline is bland compared to Twin Peaks. But that doesn't mean it's a bad show. Might just mean I'm a snob when it comes to low budget scifi.
Wow
Interesting. This show is from the 1990's. 2021-22, I ran across an (articles) about Resturants in Singapore that are participating in cells grown in tanks as meat protien . FINE RESTAURANTS. No pricing on the type of meat protine growth to maturity, Resturant kitchens to table service. 1 of the goals was to entice vegetarians, because there is no mind or consciousness in the protien product being served - in a visually asthetic pleasing appearance and taste. I know everything costs money$$$. It takes space, feed & care to raise what we eat. Laws about humanely raising any livestock for market meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, even how they are hunted - all counted here, USA, ENGLAND & ....(not everywhere still Great #'s of pice of shit floating canneries) Great efforts gone into keeping breeding stock Alive) so that we are able to stop extinction of species. So yes, there is, and has been technology for Many Years. We are told it's still imperfect for organ transplant. (???) Production for food. (???) Cloning has been around a couple of decades works well. Takes the same time as growing the original. Protien cell growth? No stats in the article, very vague, I had the impression it's multiplying without form, the only concern was how to use it in presentation to EAT & Taste Good. Truth - is Stranger than Fiction. There are places that Don't stub their toes on Rulebooks. USA has shared the knowledge & advancements we have made especially in Agricultural practice & procedures. When we ask for certain Countries, "Have you advanced, have anything new in these fields?". There is No Answer. No comments,. A prickly & pissed off USA for sharing. Human Nature. Is what it is. Can't change it, proved again & again in History...as well as Now. After all, I would give serious considerations to growing a human organ for serious money for someone else to use. Don't believe i was ever able to give up a baby, being a Serrogate Mom,. it's not about money for me. But people have & are doing this now, giveing a great gift of Joy. Yes I could grow & and donate spare parts & new parts for myself & Family members, if we needed them. It's about high quality of a healthy life.
I suspect this show was canceled, not because of lack of interest nor for funding. The show was exposing, unknowingly, what Guh'ments and NGOs were/are actually doing.
Strange how what was Science Fiction, is now Science, Fact.
Thanks for putting this up mate. This was before X Files and a lot closer to the truth in so many episodes, too scary to be a hit.
The X-Files premiered in 1993, seven entire years before this show ever even aired.
Hi, fellow Millennium fan. We are racing toward an apocalypse of our own creation.
@@HathnamedI wish that show was available for streaming
28:15 can someone explain what Axferd is ???????????????
It's a psychiatric care clinic for Oxford dropouts, often accepted for the use of Cambridge students looking to complete various units in the field.
This is exceptionally well done! I’ve never heard of this series and now I’m addicted! ❤
Some of these are pretty good.
That little foreign woman is so hott. Where can I get one. Sometimes, it seems like something is missing in the script. It also seems like they couldn't afford a decent light bulb. Every scene is almost pitch black.
Breaking bads Tuco Salamanca
This was such a good show and Ty for uploading 👍👍
Great program
WOOOOW
Wow . I never knew such a good show was around back then. Missed treasures.
Missiles in Iraqi bunkers🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣where dafuq were they when us invaded iraq????
I'm a freak of The X Files but this show rocks. What a pity that there is only one season 👽
I remember watching (and loving) this when it first aired. I recall it being presented as a "limited series" right from the start, which I thought was odd as I'd never heard that phrasing used for a TV show before. So either it was never intended to be continued, or they knew before hand the show would be cancelled. Considering it has a real ending, I suspect it was just meant to be 13 eps all along, though it does make me wonder why it wasn't simply marketed as a "mini-series" in that case? Odd piece of TV history. In any case, a big thank you for uploading this.
This was not intended to be a miniseries. However, seeing as it was unpopular both with the public and the channel, the showrunner and the writers decided it wise to conclude the series by an episode which could be viewed either as a real (downbeat) finale, or as a cliffhanger. This comes from oner of the sources I read (see the pinned comment). If you watch closely, Paul is not yet dead by the end, so presumably the next episode would have seen Sydney and Lynn teaming up and finding another dose of the cure. Could have been exciting, I enjoyed Sydney's character, it was somewhat different from the cliché girlfriend in other series.
The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan. Good flick!
Found this show by chance. good all the way through with quite a say guest stars throughout; would recommend to anyone into sci fi or the peeps that have an open mind.
Third episode... I'm thinkin' homie needs to start carrying a firearm. Just sayin'
Nobody else here got the reference? Azrael's seed is that of a fallen angel. Look it up.
Seriously; thank you so much for uploading this! I've been searching for this series on and off for a decade now and have never been able to find the entire show.
