New Project 7 x 12 x 6'6
I'm building this camper for my wife and I. After 20 previous builds, she says we're keeping this one! I suppose it's about time.

DIY 90 Watt Portable Panel
Переглядів 593 місяці тому
I've had these panels in storage for the past couple of years, so I decided to make a portable set from them. The main use will be to charge my 299 watt hour power station, which powers my wife's work station when we're traveling.
The 7 x 12 Family Camper Is FINALLY! Finished

This is a follow up to a video I posted 2 years ago. Between supply chain issues, health issues and scheduling, we finally got a chance to install the correct windows and finished this build off. I've added a link to the original video in case you want to check out the rest of the build. ua-cam.com/video/YndpuT8eA9Y/v-deo.htmlsi=Wv7qOmDUvWj1UIqn
Yakry Y25 Rear View Camera
Переглядів 895 місяців тому
I previously used a wifi direct system that connected to my phone for a display. It worked ok, but each time I out of reverse and back in again, I had to do the connection process again. With the Yakry having it's own display, that is no longer an issue. Here is a link if you're interested. amzn.to/3QkWZdQ
7 x 14 Custom Toy Hauler Conversion
Переглядів 6285 місяців тому
We built this with the idea of being able to get a large sized ATV inside and still be able to sleep two in a dry, warm/cool place. The open floor space is 66" x 150", so there is a lot of room for your toy.
Back To Work Finally!
Переглядів 1357 місяців тому
After almost a year of back pain and hip surgery, I was given the ok to go back to work. The trailer walls were insulated before I my body gave up, so I figured I'd start with windows so I can keep it closed up on these cold winter days and still see what I'm doing.
Looking 5 years Back - My First Cargo Trailer Conversion
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Рік тому
With no idea how to do it, I decided to convert a cargo trailer to a camper to use when I was working out of town - the old "I hate hotels" thing. I read everything I could, watched every video I could find and went for. It was basic - shore power & city water, not a boon docking trailer at all. But it worked for me, and eventually, for the couple that bought it. It was the start of a whole new...

Grandpa's Camping Cabin On Wheels

A guy bought this trailer to take his grandson's camping. He didn't want to spend a ton of money, so he found this used one at a really good price. He wasn't concerned about "pretty" as much as he wanted practical and easy to use. I think we got him there. Below are links to the major items I used if you're looking for parts for your own builds. This camera will work wonders for those of you that tow trailers. It will make backing up to hitch the trailer to your tow vehicle so much easier. My video isn't great, but don't let that deter you from considering one of these for your tow vehicle. This was built for a guy who rents golf carts at rodeos, fairs, horse shows, etc. he wanted a place that he and his customers can be comfortable in all types of weather. Because he will be hauling carts in it, he did not want the walls painted or the floor covered. Here are links to the things I used in the build. Emergency Homeless Shelter (EHS) Ramp To Side Swing Door Conversion
Cool design!! I like the basic camper amenities with the focus on cargo space. I was thinking about DIYing something similar, but I really don't have the time to do it. How much do you sell one like this for?
Thanks for checking it out. If you email me at tinytrailers4bigasventures@gmail.com I'll be happy to go over costs with you. I don't like to post them here because the trailer in the video is set up a certain way and priced as such. Some people will think that price is the same for any build and it gets akward sometimes.
Nice job my friend. I'm talking about the temp setup. Lasted more than a year. A lot of folks get leaks on permanent jobs sooner than that.
Thank you
Nice. Good to know.😊
Thank you
Good work my friend. I'm glad your feeling better.
Thank you. Me too.
Nice job!!
Thank you
I'm trying to find a video were they do this the other way around tho.. open doors into ramp..😂
Search "barn doors to ramp" in the UA-cam search bar. I just did and found several videos.
I have a magnetic one similar with the same way to setup but but the name of the camera isn't showing up in my wifi network. Any idea why?
When I connect, it shows as "car" then some numbers. It doesn't show as Green Yi or camera.
Very functional, well done 👍
Thank you
Wait, so the fridge runs at .8amps, but what voltage? Amazon seems to have only 120v versions that use about 40w when normalized. Do this model run on 12v, or does the inverter read .8 amps at 12v?
So what this video needs is a wide shot of the entire interior. All of the shots are close in and its hard to get a feel of what you built. Although the close in of each part is excellent. Just want to see the entire interior.
Are you selling them….How much are they
Mo, I just build them out after the customer buys the trailer. The 5 x 8 cost her about $7500, including the trailer.
Nice job 👍
Thank you
Can you keep camera open for say 30 minutes so in long use?
I think it will stay on as long as there is 12v to it.
Id like to see it open in the back. Not sure how it is a deck. 6:58
I didn't get any pictures of it in deck mode. They use 2 of the pyramid type jack stands to support the ramp and they have 2 camp chairs to sit on. She did get magnetic screens for the side door and ramp door openings.
Very nice. I have a bluetti dedicated to my cpap
Beautiful build and something I'd be interested in! I sent an email a few days ago.
Thank you and I'm sorry, I don't recall getting an email. Resend it and let m we know what you're looking for and I'll get with you for sure.
Good information. Did you realize your plate # is on the top right sticker?
Oops. Didn't catch that. Thank you
The WiFi signal is poor. Can it be improved
You could try to extend the antenna (the short wire) and see if that helps. Make sure the antenna is not right next to or touching metal.
Great video. I just sent you an email.
Beautiful thing you did for your brother. God bless
Thank you. Fortunately, he's got himself into an apartment and headed in a good direction.
I love this video…very informative! I’m getting ready to convert a 6 x 10 into a second unit for my hotdog cart business. Do you have a tutorial on your built from start to finish? I’m really interested in how much did it cost to insulate a trailer of that size.
Thanks for checking out the video. I don't have a tutorial, I just get an idea, draw it out and build it. Based on today's cost of foam board insulation, it should cost about $200+/- to insulate with 1" foam board.
@@TinyTrailers4BigAdventures thanks for your quick response! Also, that’s good to know on the insulation…sounds pretty reasonable.
Thanks I'm gonna use some of your ideas
Thanks for checking out the trailer. Good luck on your build.
Did you connect the red wire on the camera to the brown wire on the license plate light then ground the black wire on the camera to the truck frame?
I believe so. It's been a while since I installed it.
Great solution. Thanks for sharing your process and result.
Awome work! p.s hope u kept the beard :) Have a great summer !
Mine connects fine but will not show the image. I got it to work 3 times in about 100 trys over the last 6 months
Try deleting the app and re-installing it. It should be the Joy Trip app. Also, be sure the little "antenna" coming off the camera cord is not really close to or touching metal.
Thank you SO MUCH for doing this video. I didn't get much from their instructions. I have trailers too!
Thanks for checking out the video. Glad it helped.
Would you do mine?
I'd be happy to, but I couldn't get to it until next fall. I'm working on one now, then I have to have a hip replaced. If that time frame works for you, reach out to me in August and we can figure it out.
I installed and hooked this license plate camera exactly as the directions no matter what I do,IT DOES NOT WORK
Try connecting to a constant 12v source, uninstall & re-install the app and see if it will connect to your phone. If not, contact the manufacturer. I did not connect to a back up light, I used a license plate light. When I used a back up light, every time I had to go out of reverse and back to reverse, I had to reconnect the app to the camera. Now, I just turn on my lights, get hooked up & turn lights off. A bonus is that at night, I have a rear view camera if I want to use it.
@Tiny Trailers 4 Big Adventures I have it directly inline fused to the battery ,,,I've installed and reinstalled the app 5 times checked all my power sources, did QR code 5 times, I did everything and nothing happens.... Should it not be inline fused ?
@@The_Hollywood_Mission - I don't see where a fuse should make a difference. When you open the app, do you get a message to connect to device wifi? When that message comes up, you should confirm it, turn your phones wifi and connect to the network that says "car something or other". Connect to it (it is a wifi direct connection) and the camera should work. If not, contact the mfg. BTW -Have you checked your inline fuse?
@Tiny Trailers 4 Big Adventures I have checked my inline fuse and it's good, i used a test light and its good, when I hit the confirm to Wi-Fi I don't have anything that comes up showing CAR,only my 2.4g and 5g network
@@The_Hollywood_Mission - The only thing I can suggest is remove the camera from the vehicle, set it and your phone side by side, connect camera to a 12v source and see if your phone reads the camera. If not, contact the mfg.
What the name of the witch you used or which one do you recommend?
I don't recall the name of it, but it was the smallest 12v winch that Harbor Freight sells.
Don’t understand having batteries inside, to off gassing fumes into the trailer
Thanks for checking out the video. There are 2 floor vents under the bed to allow air flow for the batteries. AGMs are designated safe for indoor applications with proper air flow.
Good build, was wondering the completed weight of the conversion.
It weighed 3300 lbs when it was done.
Simple trailer build, but very nice. I especially like the cedar tops.
Thank you. If I was to do it again, I'd put a sink in the big counter top, delete the sink in the bathroom and put a floor to celing cabinet in it's place. More storage is always a good thing.
I think you talk to much in your video's. 🤣 Seriously, I like this CTC much better then my first build. I enjoyed the video buddy. Keep them coming.
@cheapwanderer9218 - Thank you. I can't believe it's been 5 years since that build. I'm still sore from up & down the ladder doing the Henry's on the roof.
@@TinyTrailers4BigAdventures For an aluminum roof would you still recommend that same Henry’s coating?
@@gerrycollins9409 - Absolutely. Tropicool is silicone based and is more "flexible" as the trailer goes down the road. My only issue is the cost - $100+/- per gallon. I've also used Henry's 587 Elastomeric coating. It needs toouching up every few years, but at $30/gallkn (Home Depot), it's a viable alternative. Whichever way you go, prep is the key. Follow their instructions and you'll be fine.
@@TinyTrailers4BigAdventures I have the same opinion only I use Blackjack 1000 from Lowe's. I touch up every year but mostly because of the insulation value.
How well did the polyurethane hold up for the countertop?
I don't have the trailer anymore, but I built an end table out of thecounter top cut off and it still looks great.
Hi @tiny trailers 4 big adventures, this build is amazing just wondering what is the metal that you install around the door frame?
The metal around the side and rear doors is the original factory door trim. When changed the rear door from a ramp to a side swing door, I got rid of the ramp frame, built a new frame to accept the ac and re-used the original aluminum skin and trim.
Thank you for the quick response 😀
What is the final interior height? I'm looking at this and trying to figure out if a queen mattress half a foot wider would fit well (were both over 6' tall as well)
Interior height was 6'3".
@TinyTrailers4BigAdventures wow! I don't need to stand up straight but I want to be able to stand up and change clothes pretty well and have enough space to function! Thanks.
Very nice. I like the handle configuration. It looks sturdier than an RV handle, easier to use for arthritic hands, I bet.
Thank you. It works really well. I wish I could take credit for the idea, but I got it from another UA-camr - Camp And Camera. It makes dealer with non-RV doors much easier.
How did you vent the AC? Where does the water from the AC drip drain?
The intake & exhaust goes through the floor. The condensation goes through the floor as well.
@@TinyTrailers4BigAdventures Any pictures of how you did it?
@@mikestone9129 Send me an email address and I'll send you pics of the whole process. tinytrailers4bigadventures@gmail.com
Sorry - didn't hear what brand that fan was?
It is a Heng's Vortex ii insert. Here is a link to it. amzn.to/3IQkMPR
You might get away by using a small microwave oven. I have one that uses about 600 watts I even used it in our sienna. You could also turn off the refrigerator until you are done microwaving. I have a cooler/freezer that runs on 12 or 24 VDC. I would think you would save battery by shutting down the power inverter even at no load the inverter uses power. Of course the AC unit would drain the batteries real quick. I think the best thing would be to run everything on battery power if you can afford the 12/24 VDC appliances. I like your work especially the walls and cabinets and the ceiling. Thanks for posting. 73
Thanks for checking out the video. They 90% stay at places with hook ups. The other 10%, they use a 2000 wat generator. The solar was designed to run the fridge while the trailer was being towed, the vent fan, and lights. The microwave is a 700 watt rated unit but it actually draws 1100 watts. The ac draws 500 watts and along with the microwave, runs solely on shore/generator power. There is not enough room on the roof to put on enough panels nor did they have the budget for enough batteries to run the ac on solar. The tongue & groove on the walls and ceiling give the illusion that the trailer is bigger than it actually is and the light color keeps it from feeling like a cave. I'm working on a plan to be able to make the sofa/bed system in a free standing unit to be used in bigger trailers.
@@TinyTrailers4BigAdventures cool I was looking for a lightweight trailer but it has it's negatives. This trailer would be good with a mini van and then you would have more roof space and battery space as well but with all solar installs flat on the roof is not very efficient. 73
Oh my goodness, the amount of storage space and countertop space is amazing! Good layout and such a clean design. This is really, really, REALLY nice! Thanks for the tour!
Thank you for checking out the video and the kind words. That trailer was a fun project.
Great work, what brand windows are those and where can we purchase? Thanks from NE FL
Thank you. The windows came from Shed Windows and More. shop.shedwindowsandmore.com/shed-windows/
@@TinyTrailers4BigAdventures Awesome ! Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
is there any way for green yi saved wifi to connect automatically to a powered-up camera?
I honestly don't know. When I have my camera powered up first and open the app, it always asks to be coneected to wifi. That may be happening because the connection between the camera and the display screen (in my case, my phone) is a wifi direct connection, not a true wifi network connection.
Nice job! Well done!
Thank you. Appreciate the kind words.
I really like your build and got a few ideas for my 5×10 trailer from your video. Thank you .
I'm glad you found something that could help you. Any questions, just ask.
What did this weigh when completed? Tow with a small SUV?
1580 lbs
1580 lbs
No fair. Someone's gonna have to sleep in "the crack in the Earth!"
We both know who that will be.
That's one pretty little trailer awesomely built, I would love to live in one 😉
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words.
Nice build! How do you keep someone from locking you in?
Thank you. Once a lock is put into the flip latch, the bar can't go down far enough to hold the door closed. We have tested this onseveral trailers and even 7 year old girls can open the doo with no problem.
