2011 KIA fuel vent valve
How to replace a 2011 Kia Soul fuel vent valve. be sure after you've disconnected the hoses the electrical connection and the bolts that you turn the valve body counterclockwise to release it from the side of the mounting hole. Dealer said you have to remove the gas tank to take the valve out... not true... also if you have any problems with putting the bolts back in but the one bolt on the bottom and first and then do the top they are a real pain in the butt but they do go in!

I wonder if this is the reason I'm having trouble filling my Kia soul with fuel. It just started getting below zero here in Alaska. Since then ......I can only trickle gas in or it will gush out onto the ground. So annoying. Did you have similar problems.....is this how you knew it was going bad. How did yours react when filling up with fuel??
just played with mine today fill tube from gas cap was rotten letting salt water shit block everything solid couldnt put gas in it took it all apart blew air cut of rooten pipe put rubber hose vent hose next to fill hose
How did you manage to reach the bolt on top ? I can reach it with the socket but my ratchet wont fit because of the trunk boby part :(
You use a small socket wrench and a flexible shaft head to get to that bolt. You can't use the standard socket wrench it's got to be the small one, now when you do put that bolt back it's going to be a bit tricky so you got to do it with your fingers until it threads on. Seriously, it only took me about 45 minutes to do it and I'm not a mechanic. Good luck to you!
@@robertfaulkner7152 thanks for the fast reply, i guess i need a set of flexible head wrench now 🤣
@@joemama-nz1bt No not really. You could go to Walmart and just get yourself a flexible socket drive shaft. I picked one up for a few dollars.
if you live in the rust belt, there is NO part of this job that will be easy.
@@edwardjames6070 It's probably easier than you think. The only thing that might have a little rust on it might be the bolt head but there's no metal and the way that these kia's are made I don't foresee a problem getting the bolts out.
Thanks for the info, but how do you know it was the problem of canister vent valve rather than canister itself?I got code p0449 on my Kia soul 2011, I was wondering if it was the vent valve or canister which cuased the code?
Because I took it to the dealership, paid the $90 diagnostic fee, they told me $600, and I fixed it myself 👍
Thanks! The two 14mm bolts lowering the tanks helps getting to the hidden 10mm bolt.
Glad it helped! Why pay the dealership $600 to remove it when you can do it for free!
