Don't know if you're still monitoring this thread or even still own this car, but as for lack of ad support, in my opinion, since it costs lots of $$$ and requires a large budget to broadly advertise and since the typical demand for this type of a car is comparatively low compared to the demand for other body types, the ROI on a roadster not branded Porsche is quite dismal. Therefore, I believe that accounts in large part for the lack of corporate support to promote the 124 Spider.

I have that same model and it is a very comfortable with the air conditioned seats, very peppy in traffic, and very easy to pull in to street parking. One thing that does concern me is that the sensors will freak out my gauges and cruse control. It’s mysterious.

I drive a 1991 Miata for 30 years - I am now passing to my kids and wanted to get the ND Miata - but now I think about the 124 Spider. Question is, should I go with the Abarth 124 or the "regular" 124?

Easily one of the coolest looking sedans on the road these days, the designers really went for it and it turned out stunning. Having said that, not a fan of the aftermarket pinstripes, especially if it was done by one of those dealerships who do it to all their cars as part of pre-showroom prep and then try to pass it on to buyers as one of the "extras" to justify a little higher pricetag🙄

I am about to buy this car, just had my test drive. I had a blast, such a pleasure to drive. I also find it beautiful, although some people hate it. Itt is more elegant than the MX 5 imo.

Not to throw shade on your parade, but the red interior trim screams; Designed by Walmart! But, if this is your taste, use the remainder to trim your air vents and then don't forget to get a red vinyl steering wheel wrap. A better trim than the red would have been using chrome accents. Whenever I am walking through a Walmart parking lot, I see so many interiors trimmed in these Amazon products from China, and it saddens me that so many people have such cheap taste. Treat your beautiful car to a better grade of upgrades.

i absolutely love the look of the 124 spider.... it looks 'classic' to me!! i did have a '95 miata once..... but sadly sold it. enjoy your car!!

Owning a MB slk with a manual transmission, I see where your coming from loving the car as any small convertible is a blast, and a manual is just the cherry on top. I am looking to update the slk, and slk's/slc's are automatic only, so that leaves mx-5 and the 124 in the small convertible with a stick shift that are reasonably priced.

I researched it and i do not fit in it.

Thanks for the highly informative video. You may have talked me into replacing my NA Miata witha "Fiata!" I do like the styling, and I did dismiss it due to the Fiat engine. I note though that the joint venture with Mazda is irrelevant to the engine reliability is it's a Fiat /Chrysler engine, yes? [Can't bite my tongue -it's "doctoral" not "doctorial".] Cheers!

I have the stubby, which is definitely an improvement. I believe the door trim looks awkward and is unnecessary. If door gets nicked I use sandpaper and white touch up paint. Very simple and unnoticeable. I think the trim cheapens the interior, so would not use it.

I bought a '21 Sonata SEL 2.5 back in Nov of 2020. It now has 62k miles and still drives like new. One issue repaired under warranty in 45 minutes. A noisy bearing in the electric power steering motor. Otherwise just maintenance

I've owned a 124 for almost three years. I like the car, but my criticism of it is still quite long. 1. The cabin is too cramped and especially for the passengers. 2. The stock headlights are terrible and to change them it's a nightmare having to take off the wheel and remove covers to change bulbs. Whoever designed that needs firing. 3. The stock infotainment is basic. I have had to do a software upgrade to make it look and work decent. 4. The 'leather' seats are not actually leather, but cheap faux leather that wear very badly on the bolsters. 5. The rear wind deflector is less than useless. 6. There is not glove compartment and few areas for storage. 7. The oil cap can get stuck and difficult to remove. 8. The ball joints on the suspension (Mazda part) readily fail and I have had to replace them after 26k miles. 9. The headlights are ugly. 10. The stock exhaust is pathetic for a sports car. I have had to upgrade mine to a quad Ascari sports exhaust. 11. Something not quite right about the looks. It doesn't feel premium. 12. The car can get scuttle shake over bad bumpy roads. 13. The turbo low down can be very laggy and you have to drive around it. 14. The Fiat badges are embarrassing. I've changed mine to Abarth and scorpion ones. 15. The silver pillars around the windscreen make it look like a dated Chrysler crossfire. I've had mine painted.
