Barnesie's on the FORM of his freakin' awesome life here make no error. I saw Cold Chisel over here in New Zealand at The Dunedin Town Hall on Saturday September 24th 1983 and they were on FIRE. I was 19 and about a month away from turning 20. I also saw Chisel play Broadwater Parklands in Surfers Paradise as my wife and I were at the 2015 Gold Coast 600 V8 Supercars Event in Surfers so we just had to check the gig out. I actually believed Chisel were even BETTER than when I saw them in 1983 go figure that if you will. Wow did Chisel deliver that evening. Something like 20 standard set list songs plus 3 #1 encore songs, followed up by another 5 #2 encore songs = 28 songs in total - how good was that?! Now I am a complete left leg hemipelvectomy amputee i.e. my entire left leg plus hip and pelvis has been amputated as a result of my near-death motorcycle accident here in New Zealand in 1990 when I was 26. V fortunate to survive after getting septicemia [blood poisoning] in the remaining part of my left leg. After I fell off my motorcycle at high speed attempting to round a bend in the open road I slid in to a farmers paddock concrete fence post and instantly amputated my left leg at the knee. Spent 3 weeks in Intensive Care Unit of 2 hospitals and 101 days in total. So that evening at Broadwater Parklands as soon as Chisel began playing I stood up on my one good right leg with my elbow crutches and never sat down for the entire gig. My short was soaked in sweat. One of the best gigs I'd ever attended. My wife bought me Barnes' autobiography 'Working Class Boy' for my birthday and then his follow up 'Working Class Man' - absolutely awesome reads both of them. But hey Chisel isn't only Jimmy Barnes. I've always loved the entire group members. I bought the original 'Barking Spiders' album on cassette tape when it was released however somewhere along the line it has gone awol. Probably chewed up in someone's car stereo head unit. And so here I am. Thank you uploader badoge69 and thank you Cold Chisel - keep rockin' hard!

Anyone there on the night know if Chisel appeared to have multi track recording equipment running? A Live Tapes release called Barking Spiders 2: The Enmore Strikes Bark would be pretty cool. More seriously, the band sounds in great shape but Jimmy sounds in better voice than on the Sydney EC Live Tapes release and the rarities played here would make it an incredible addition to the series

My wife and kids booked this show for me as a birthday treat. When we got to the stadium we found our seats were up very high behind the stage and all the lighting scaffolding, couldn't see anything. My wife apologised profusely as she had no idea of the seating when she booked. I told her not to worry, at least we will still be able to hear him. While waiting for the show to start, two young Ladies who looked like they'd just stepped from a Paris fashion show walked up the centre aisle, looking left and right. One of the young ladies approached me and said they had tickets they didn't need and would I like to swap them for mine. At first I thought they were trying to scam me, but we decided to trust them and they led us all the way back through the stadium exits and doors, we finally walked out on the main floor, they led us to row 9 from the front and dead centre and said" There are your seats, here are your tickets, can I have yours please. " That was the best ever surprise and we had the best show I have ever been to. One of my friends later told me that it's something Billy does at all his concerts.
