Yes, in the early 70s and 80s. I was factory trained Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, BSA, Husky, ect. Worked in dealerships for a dozen years or so.

It is efficient, quiet albeit heavy. I seldom ride less than 350 miles each time I ride, noise is very fatiguing. That bike has 76,000 miles on it and my ears don't need any more damage.

Thank you, I checked them every 15,000 miles, and they were always within spec. Be aware that Kawasaki calculates how much the valves will seat and how much things will wear. NEVER ever set the valves on a Kawasaki before the prescribed interval or you will have tight valves. I was a factory trained Kawasaki mechanic and I went to Kwak school on the original Z1, and they were very serious about that.

Yes, both up and down.

Those videos are at over 6000 feet altitude. At sea level it lifts in 4th. And with the new Supercharger gear it will really start to lift a altitude.
