Amazing, I want to go check this place out. Waiting on a Friend is one of my favorite Stones songs. Tattoo You is their best album, in my opinion.
i miss the grittier nyc of late 1970s early 80s
I was 15 and working my first summer job at my grandfather’s company on Wall st….id take the subway from my dad’s place on the upper East side….my friend and I were all over the city going to concerts, riding the subways,in and out of port authority, scoring nickel bags, going to concerts at the Garden etc…the city was one big playground for us….good times.we somehow never ran into too much “ trouble “ although we certainly tempted it!
Thanks i always loved that video. It showed the stones as humams who cared for one another.
Thank you for producing such an interesting topic and video. You asked the viewers for a suggestion to do another Then and Now video ? I think a video about the original Record Plant East or Hit Factory locations would be interesting.
I was sitting in St.Marks Bar and Grill with my girlfriend when someone came in with cameras and asked if we could vacate for a little while. Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts rolled in and bought a round of Beers for the 10 or so people in there and we all stepped outside and watched them film the video.. Im somewhere in that crowd shot outside. Waiting on a Friend is my Favorite video by The Stones for Obvious Reasons.. New York in the 80's was an Amazing time in my Life. You Never knew who or what you would see walking down the block, especially on St.Marks.. Thanks for your Video, brought me back..
I was 14 when that song came out, and the first time I heard it, it blew right into my soul. I have no idea why, but it made me even then very melancholy, it seemed nostalgic even when it was brand new. To this day, it still takes me somewhere else in my spirit... to the past, to long times gone, to my youth. It makes me even more wistful now, a bit sad at how fast time has gotten away. Few songs have the power to truly mark the passing of your years and retain that same power on at both the early and later parts of your lifetime. This song has that. I truly love it.
It all looked so much more atmospheric and earthy back then. Starbucks - such a shame.
Hay ciertos lugares que no deberían modificarse. Gracias por mostrar ésto
Great job!. Please keep it up! 🙏🏼
Peter Tosh and his band mates are the dudes on the stoop.🎵🎸🎷🥁
So cool,love the Stones
This was really great.
Thanks, I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
i went into the St mark Bar and Grill for a couple of beers after seeing them in '89. I was half expecting them to stop by for a post concert drink!
I was at Shea Stadium 🏟 for Steel Wheels too...As far as the Stones walking in, certainly weirder things have happened at St. Mark's Bar & Grill then that 😆 🤣...
Thank you this was really great to watch! Liked and subscribed! Thanks again! Please keep them coming!
Thank you! I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
Wow, were those fans nuts??!! Booing Prince, he's SUPER. Too bad Mick and Prince never did a song together. Nice video. x
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed it! Yeah, a Mick and Prince duet would have been nice to see...
Wow... that's sweet. A real fan.
Thanks! I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
Really professionally, well done David. I'll send you a DM on some trivia on that movie that is personal to me and my wife.
Thanks, I'm pleased you both enjoyed it! I look forward to receiving your DM...
A really fascinating and interesting video. I love these now and then videos and photos. I would have been really interested to have seen/heard from some of the 'extras' in the video to get their insight. Thank you for your work into producing this video!
Thank you! I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
Nice job, thank you! It's my favorite movie.
Thank you! I'm pleased you enjoyed it!

Thanks! I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
Greatest Stones video, with such soul. I’m guessing; still after 40+ years; Peter Tosh, Max Romeo, and who sit with Mick???
Thanks! Pleased you enjoyed it!
Thanks David for another educational & very interesting video. I’m watching in San Diego & have never experienced the neighborhoods of New York. I also enjoyed your Taxi Driver video, then & now on the streets of New York. Is there any chance you’ll make some more videos? I’ll subscribe, just in case you do, as I think the two I’ve seen are superb!
Thank you! I'm pleased you enjoyed it and hopefully gave you a sense of what it's like to be on the historic and iconic streets of NYC...I'm in the process of writing, investigating and trying to obtain permission to have access to several locations...The next several I'm considering are a myriad of different subjects, so it's good you subscribed...
Excellent video
Thank you...I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
Love it! Where can I find this version of the waiting on a friend?
Dave Milone at Alpha Wave Studios, Whippany, NJ
Thank you for this. My 16 year old daughter loves the "WOAF" video and loves the behind the scenes photos that eventually emerge online. This was compelling for her.
Thanks! I'm pleased you both enjoyed it!
The belmore cafeteria was also a great place with some good scenes.
Indeed, it was, but not much to see or make comparisons to today...
Also know the cab driver office from the beginning is demolished. 57th street between 11th and 12th ave.
That's right! Unfortunately, there's not much to see or make comparisons to today...
Thanks. I grew up in alphabet city at pedro ibizu Campos plaza on Avenue c losaida Avenue and 13th street. Saw Deniro filming the movie Flawless with Joel Schumacher and Phillip Seymour Hoffman on 13th and Avenue B.
Wow! Great memories!
Who is that dude in the window?🤔
Not sure...
I heard he was a producer. 😊
a fashion designer,Keen was his last name
Great video. I had no idea they filmed at the Physical Graffiti building.
Thanks! I'm pleased you enjoyed it! Yeah, they didn't give us a broadside view of the building in the video...
Great video drank in St . Marks Bar and Grill in the 80,s with my friend Ray Kennedy R.I.P.
Thanks! Pleased you enjoyed it! My sincere condolences on the passing of your friend...

Yeah using a magnum to destroy a female pussycat.
Beautiful and well made video,. I love all things '81&'82 as well having seen both Wembley Stadium shows June '82 and Slane Castle gig a month later. Thank God we have all the shows to look back on ( I have Hampton, Let's Spend The Night Together and Leeds Roundhay Park all on Blu-ray, the very best of times 🕺🥁🎸🎷💎🔥👌☘️🇮🇪
Thanks! I'm pleased you enjoyed it! So fortunate you got to see those shows...An auspicious time in the Stones' history!
Love this! Watched with a big smile on my face ! You got yourself a new sub (121). Really looking forward to seeing your channel grow as I'm sure it will ❤❤
Thanks! I'm pleased you enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to posting more content in 2024...
Keith Richards clocking the stage rusher with his guitar.
I believe that incident was at their Hampton, VA show in December...
Excellent attention to detail!!😮
Thanks! I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
I was at the concert that booed Prince off stage… George Thorogood and the Destroyers opened, along with Jay Giles Band… Prince sang a bad choice song and was lucky to make it off the stage…The crowd threw everything they had at him, even tennis shoes…😵💫🙃
WOW! How things would change for Prince though...
"Bad choice song"? What was it? A GG Allin cover?
great and very interesting video. Thanks from the Netherlands
Thanks! I'm pleased you enjoyed it! The Netherlands are on our bucket list to visit; it looks like a beautiful place!
Very cool vid! Can't wait for the next!
Thanks! Pleased you enjoyed it!
I think Billy Joel's "A Matter of Trust" may have been filmed there, or a few doors down too
Billy Joel and his band perform A Matter of Trust in the basement of a building located at 23 St. Mark's Place in New York City's East Village.
So awesome. Thank you ❤
Thanks! Pleased you enjoyed it!
9:55 Disagree. Travis is not unhinged when he shoots the armed robber in the convenience store. Travis is cool, calm, and collected when he shoots the unhinged armed robber.
IMO you don't have to be flailing and screaming to become unhinged! However, that's what opinions are all about...
So Travis is in a store and an armed robber is pointing a gun at the owner, demanding money, and acting like a lunatic. The store owner and Travis are supposed to fill up his bag with money and wish him well?! Travis turns the corner in the corner in the store, the assailant begins to point the deadly weapon at him, and so Travis very quickly killed him. Cool, calm, collected and 100% justified. The way the narrator setting up this clip talks, you'd almost think he was suggesting that the armed robber, brandishing the deadly weapon, is the victim!
It's also a vigilante movie. Travis is unhinged because after this situation, his destiny is to become murderous towards certain outlaws.
I live in the Lower East Side , went to that bar to wait for my friends . What a memorable time . Of course the Stones song with that year and time. Great video .
Thanks! Pleased you enjoyed it!
Great I used to work in the area 20 years ago at a holistic pet store going to McDonald’s st marks x burger in my lunch break and couple of times at st marks bar to listen some bands NYC
Well done ❤thx
