One of the reasons the episode with Richie's dad worked , was none of the characters forced him into conforming or changing his views , they just called him out. Richie's dad realised him being an ignorant racist had nearly cost him his son's life and that Robert and Virgil had helped save his boy . Point is he made change by himself . Also something very endearing is even knowing Richie's dad's a racist , Virgil doesn't hold it against Ritchie- infact he encourages Ritchie to go back home to his dad , because Richie's safety and wellbeing come first.

The original Proud Family tackled racism better than The Proud Family reboot.

This is a nice video, I found this looking for Static Shock. Though I got one gripe: I think the term you meant here is prejudice. Racism is the systemic oppression of a group of people through government systems. Prejudice is the word you are looking for.

Another thing that makes it worse is just how in your face Velma and Proud Family are about it. They are literally treating every subject by saying the word and it's definition like flashcards. The Static Shock episode really follows the lesson of "Show, Don't Tell," and the situation in that episode feels natural and accurately portrays how a situation like that would actually play out in the real world. It makes the message more applicable and understandable to its audience.

The ‘gay’ couple in the proud family is just a prime example of how Disney is absolutely clueless about those types of relationships…because they keep treating them like they’re ‘different’ or ‘special’, they’re not. Love is love. As well…NO COUPLE gay or straight would EVER act like that. You can rest assured if one person tried to guilt and shame another into feeling or thinking a certain way…you can bet that relationship wouldn’t last long. That’s not how unconditional love works, you don’t force or try to fix your partner…and there’s literally nothing wrong with the white guy, it’s the black one that’s obsessed with thinking he’s automatically racist just because he’s white…which is Disney and what few followers they have left mindsets in a nutshell.

The proud family is definitely not going to tell people that white people were not the only ones that had black slaves native Americans had them and so did other blacks. Because back then everybody took advantage of slavery not just white people

I wonder why a country like Japan which has a population that is about 99.9% ethnically Asian does not have this problem. Maybe it's because they know different people simply are not meant to be put together. And hey, their population is not dehided like in USA.

what i like about the discussion in 3:46 it' s also Adults having this talk. it's just two people having a conversation that we happen to be listening to, not "this is dialogue to how people how people are racist" that the other shows did sadly. the superhero show did a great job with showing how to tackle racism in a realistic way if i happens while you're around and i wish that was done more. that's a good way to handle it for a kids show. not just list off all the bad wrong stuff without givng an answer or ways to fix it. that's just...making people sad or giving them an altered idea of how the world is.

While I wholeheartedly agree that race swaps are lazy copouts, I will say some character changes aren’t exactly a bad thing. I’m not too familiar with Amber, I will say I do like mud MJ a little more than comic MJ because they are kinda doing their own thing with the MCU which isn’t a bad thing. I am interested, do Americans know that half of white European countries we have today were under occupation of other Europeans, Asians and Arabs. Also they were systematically massacared (For example: Armenias, Greeks, people from latvia, lithuanian, estonia, Poland, Caucasus, Ukraine, Serbia and etc.) Moreover some of the white nations were under occupation of Muslims, because of the west and I never seen any liberal from west where they preach about white discrimination and occupation from the past

What’s ironic is that these kind of “anti-racist” (but actually anti-white) messages will only make people more racist. It will make non-white people more hostile against white people and it will make white people more hostile against non-whites. You don’t fix racism by labeling an entire race as evil, that’s racist.

Man I grew up loving to watch Static Shock and miss normal shows like that. We used to be a country.

Static shot was the coolest superhero. I remember as a white kid watching the episode when he goes to Africa and he talking to Richie on the phone. He said, “it’s great here, everyone I see looks just like me. Is this how you feel like.” That quote stuck in my head for the rest of my life and really makes you think of perspective. All these DEI clowns just spout useless racist trash against white people and put us on the defense. You aren’t thinking of other people when you’re on the defence. Static shock actually made you empathize.

its really simple. the people who wrote static shock arent racist and actually want people to see each other as equals. the people who wrote louder and prouder ARE racist/racial grifters who benefit from perpetuating racial grievances politics.
