Sorry it didn’t go so great. This video pretty much confirmed my fears about this show. I’m a vendor and applied for it, but after I saw how much the space was on the invoice ($650 💀), I quickly decided against it. They expect way too much for a show with questionable attendance like that.

Okay the elevator door clip was too funny LOL. How awkward! Also - please drop your background music titles! I think your choices really add to the vlog and I know I recognize some of them but I can't seem to place them...was the last one from Kirby Lost World?

Omg I bought from your friend beside you on day one! Yeah the issue was they didn't even advertise or clarify where the artist alley was aside from a small sign! I was frustrated too because the main floor I thought was artist alley but it was just full of re-sellers and I felt sad for wasting my money there instead of the actual artist ally...so I had to limit what I bought

Wow, I live in Houston and had no idea that this was even happening. I have been waiting for an event like this so I can buy goods - especially stickers. I guess they need better marketing because my brother nor my friends, who attend these types of events more often than me, did not mention this one.

hey there! im a staff member for this event and i want to express some sympathy towards your way. this past experience was definitely out of the ordinary compared to the last few years, and AH has certainly been on a rocky road towards getting its footing here in the city. our marketing being subpar is totally something the event is trying to work on, and that fellow staff members on our team have advocated to put more muscle and effort into so we get more folks talking about it! i really hope for the best for your future events and that if you want to return to Anime Houston it will be a much better experience

Sorry it wasn’t a good convention for you. Back when I used to do AA at anime cons, it was always irritating being at the mercy of the conventions lack of organization and advertisement. I did AA for fun so it wasn’t a big deal if I didn’t sell well but I always felt bad for my fellow artists who did need to turn a profit when a con was dead. I hope your next experience is great and you sell out! 😉

I made 500 bucks. The first year I made like... over 2k? There was also a bit of behind the scenes drama that kind of went down this year. Not sure how Anime Dallas will go or if itll be better but I really have loved this con through the years. I want to keep supporting it as much as I can I just hope that whatever decisions theyre making they at the very least hear us out and try to push advertisement a bit more.

My friend and I went Sunday when I saw someone’s IG posts about it. When we got there we were confused because it said the venue didn’t exist yet and almost drove off until we spotted cosplayers outside. And once inside we couldn’t figure out where the AA until we stopped to ask someone carrying some prints. I’m surprised more people didn’t come out especially for the VAs but I think that just shows there might have been a lack of advertising and the new location? I only knew it was going on because of that one artist posting about it on IG. I attended last year and that one was so crowded! I saw more posts about it going on from artists so I knew to stop by.

I haven't vended at conventions for long, but from the information I've gathered, Anime Matsuri is the best Texas anime convention, at least by attendance

Will you be posting a vlog about your EVO experience? Very curious about that event from an artist vendor experience.

thats a huge shame that the foot traffic and how facing the walk gave all the vendors on that row a disadvantage. you'd think that the con would maybe consider turning those tables around so your backs would face the walls instead but idk thats annoying. Also $29 for parking !? thats highway robbery!!

Also there wasn’t that much attendee compared to past years. The new location, AA requires a badge to come in, and all other stuff made it so Afest wasn’t as good as previous years. They should of ended the con at the old location instead of this new one that is so far from the old area ;v;
