What a great video, and you deliver very much detailed information that I appreciate. So you have moved to Seal Beach. Do you feel it was easy to feel welcomed, or did it take time to know people? Maybe you know if there's any boutique that sells t-shirts with Seal Beach logo or coffee mugs, things like that, and who ship to Europe? Maybe it has a website that I can order from. This is something that would mean so much to me since Seal Beach has been close to my heart since I was a little girl, and it's in my dream to one day be able to visit it. Lived there for 20 years,very Hot in summer, have to commute for everything, high taxes to pay for those schools. The most conservative city in Southern California. Much better quality of life after I moved away.

Something you mentioned that many may not be aware of but is extremely important: In California, property taxes are based on the price paid for the property. This is not the case in, say, NJ, where property taxes are based on the “assessed value” of the property. For example: in NJ, if you and your neighbor have identical homes, but you bought your home in 2024 and paid twice what she paid back in 2014, your assessed value would still be about the same. Therefore, your property taxes would be about the same. In CA, however, the assessed value = the price paid for the property. Thanks for bringing this up.

Not 100 percent wave like Texas is. In fact Texas waves the property tax amount in increments no matter if it's 10 percent or 100 percent. Cali doesn't do that.

I’m planning ahead as I will turn 55 in 2 yrs and your videos are very informative and I appreciate the education; however, I have questions or if you can make a video about buying at Leisure World while you are trying to sell your home and how that would work. Of course, I need to sell my home first to get have the available cash but I need it to work hand and hand so I don’t loose both ways- could you explain what’s the best way. Thank you so much!

Just another beautiful beach, nothing special. That is about the best thing in Seal Beach. If you can park on Main Street it may be nice. It may have small town feel there but away from the beach just another Orange County city. Leisure Workd a perfect place to retire. LMBO!! I wish it was as good as you make it sound. I have lived here for 10 years and 8 months.

My wife and I own a house in north San Diego and are always talking about selling our house and moving 30 min north to Temecula for retirement. Temecula is awesome and we go there all the time with friends! As a side note our favorite restaurant is called The Gamblin Cowboy, amazing rib eye. There are so many wineries, restaurants, hiking, it really has it all. We love Temecula!

Not close to being the most expensive city! San Jose and all the cities on the Peninsula between SF and San Jose, also all the westside Los Angeles cities, NYC.

You can live out here for free almost if you make contacts with the right families...No one bothers you out here except In a thrift store..lol ..besides that you can find everything in this area food groceries cheese factory winery RPX jumper play place...it's good the trolly car goes by sometimes.big ass Macy's furniture store vintage mode but modern.

The Governor epitomizes the slick talking, sleazy, back door dealing, imposter politician. The state is burdened with layers & layers of beurocracy & regulations so yeah a home for $500K is better than LA or OC & now SD is a sh_t hole like a little LA. It has been a great place to live for yrs but ..... we're out. F__k Newsolini

I grew up in L.B. I'm 54 now. I got the hell outta there 25 years ago and do not regret it at all !!! The ridiculous home prices are nuts !! The crime is nuts !! The homeless problem has become a complete nightmare!!! Traffic!!! Geez the list goes on and on ... my wife and I live on 56 acres in Montana with beautiful mountains surrounding us ... I wake up to the sound of the streams close by our home . We would never move back to California or North Korea as we now call it .. good luck to you all !!!
