oh, pippin has a beautiful scottish accent
Honestly the absence of Tom Bombadil and changing it to Arwen which saves Frodo from the Ring Wraiths are acceptable changes mostly because the two characters not in the movie as a result were mostly expanded universe bait. Tom Bombadil is from Unfinished Tales and Glorfindel is a nod to the Silmarillion.
i wish movies still did this. Extensive behind the scenes and clips of filming. It creates a whole community and connects with fans to see the magic and how its made. It creates an appreciation for the medium
In this movie they had wizards, orks, talking trees and dragons, but no blacks, no asians and no muslims. Of course the anglo-saxons loved it!
Kiran the small double is hilarious ❤😂❤
Is this the real documentary? Or just clips strong together
I read fast and loved these books, to the extent that I read them too much in my early teens (9 times in a year) and gave myself verbal indigestion. I was unable to read them again for years, but then I saw these films and they were perfect. Wonderful interpretations, and the actors were ideal. No need to miss reading them any more!
My god, they are so young. I feel like I grew up with them
I read the books way b4 hand, therefore I had to get used to the difference between them. I know there is absolutely no way to cram everything into the movie. All the bad guys were made up with my imagination. Then going to the movie much later on, I had to get used to the actors and parts that was missing ( book wise). I keep the complete set of the books, and I've got 3 CD sets of the complete movies. ❤
Ya'll have no idea what depths this story stems from lol.. Tolkien has like 12 different books written around the history and full story of middle earth. It's the most fantastic fantasy that I have yet experienced. Hope Ya'll enjoy the journey!!
THE REAL SECRET BEHIND THE SUCCESS was you take the biggest cult property in the past 100 years, find the cheapest hack director you can find, and then spend three years convincing EVERYONE it was finally going to be done right. THEN you take all the nerds and sell them on the advertising and pr, and every millennial kid on the planet that never read it - tell them it's as important as shakespeare and get them to watch it uninitiated. That's how you turn hackey shit into CINEMA GOLD, AN INSTANT CLASSIC. Morons pre-sold on the importance of something watching shit, while having no judgement. Sorry but it's still fucking garbage. You have no taste. This is shit.
When I watch LOTR I cry af, I wish it was real
7:14 watch this without context 😂
I could have watched a whole film set in Hobbiton. My favorite part of the films. I would love to see what happens with Samwise and his wife.
Sean being Elijah's Sam is incredible cute :)
christopher lee talks with such calmness, sophistication and wisdom. one of the greats, I was pretty sad for a couple days after his death.
53:51 Here I am randomly watching this unknowingly also on the 17th of January but in 2025🤯☝. Gandalfs first scene

test
4 min in 🙈🙈🙈 poor Sam the bitch
I always thought Sean Astin deserved an Oscar. His portrayal of Sam was brilliant.
The chainmail guys are made me laugh so much 😂 they been doing it for 5 months then cuts to them in the bubble with a hostage 😂
I wish they didnt skip over the making of the bridge of Khazad-Dum
2:04:25 That is the funniest thing I've seen.
Why did you stop there? 7:44 With the characters? Then transition to the audition? Can you pls upload the whole thing? And where did you get the first clip of the video?
I wonder what the percentage of people is who fall in love with Liv Taylor immediately after seeing her and hear in her speak. She’s like an actual angel.
Still believe someone out ther in the world has written the final Chapter
Young Elijah was really handsome...And i'm a lesbian, so it is a huge compliment...
1:59:19 where is this cat closeup footage now and why is it not in the video oO
Bombadil is important to the story of the world. Great adaptation, but they F’d up by not including him.
1:41:44 SO he did wear wigs!!
I’d rather watch just the making of the Lord of the Rings once than watch all the soulless movies of today multiple times.
Man I wish I could forget and re-watch all the movies allll over again !
Viggo mortenson looks so weird without the majestic long dark hair and facial hair!!
Viggo telling the story of him in the canoe with Frodos stunt double makes me laugh out loud every time. Viggo is such a wonderful person ❤
The best there is, the best there was and the best that will ever be
The logic of video editing is not entirely clear. Sometimes speech is interrupted, sometimes video fragments are repeated (for example, the joke of the three hobbits). However, I watched it completely. A magnificent film, my eyes almost never dried out with joy
Vigo is a terrible actor- all he did was smile on his close up some cheeky trying to look sexy 😭🤮
Please someone being back the love of film making
It`s crazy how good they can imitate each others voices.
Can’t get over how much love and passion they had while making this. A lot of challenges and everyone seems to push through and mostly happily.
0:47 BOOMSHAKALAKAAAA
This is a crime at 360p
"he seemed to be the only man while there was two woman POUNDING at him " fkn hell dont take that line out of content huh 😅
The warmth of this behind the scenes, the calmness of it, it's something that leaked into the movie itself and you can see that, maybe less phone times and a more detatched from internet life, that's probably what it was
lord of the rings is a prime example of rewriting scenes to fit the moment and how to do it, unlike the shocking work of the new star wars
Sean Astin being a real-life Sam is kind of amusing
i miss the way the world used to be. In movies. The authentic feelings of just having a good time. This always brings me back.
25:36 there’s wizards
Is that Lewis Capaldi at 14:37 ?????
