To put on a show for the fans. To keep the Dukes Of Hazzard alive. We all loved watching Bo & Luke jump the General Lee on TV.

@brucefixesstuff they never showed a classic car being totalled. You need a better ramp design and landing ramp. You could jump over a boss hogg caddy and land, and reuse the same car. ?

That rope was used for tying up a ship. It's plenty strong.

They built that car out of aftermarket parts. It wasn't a Charger. They didn't wreck a classic. It just looked like one.

It wasn't really. I was safe inside the truck, and the people watching were far enough away to also be safe.

Sorry for your loss. Your grandmother's funeral was more important. It was unfortunate that the timing didn't allow you to do both. Seeing that jump in person might have helped cheer you up a bit after the funeral, even if just for a little while. I'm glad you at least got to see it on video. I have another General Lee jump on my channel, performed by one of the stuntman from the original series, Corey Eubanks, back in 2003 in Covington Georgia where the first 5 episodes of the series were filmed.

They wanted to give us a show I guess. The Northeast Ohio Dukes are people who custom build General Lee replicas and bring them to shows all over the United States, where they put on a stunt show and then jump the General Lee . This was their first time doing a jump in Canada.

It was in Moncton New Brunswick a few weeks ago.

Technically it wasn't a Charger, even though they did a great job of making it look like one. It was a Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercury Grand Marquis (I don't remember which) with the body chopped off and after market Charger body panels welded on to make it look like a real 1969 Charger. Only reproduction Charger body panels got wrecked, not an actual Charger.

@@anthonyking4387 There are pages on Facebook, and probably on UA-cam too, where people do "body swaps" and put classic car bodies on modern frames. That way you get the modern technology with the classic style. Look up body swaps. You might enjoy that. I like seeing what people come up with.
