The Thing The Board Game - How to Play!
I love the silly rat bit
@@jonathanbarron9419 thanks! 🙂 Paul wanted to add the 🐀 to the video so had to figure out a way to bring it in 😂
Hi paul
What’s your Roblox name so I can friend you
Hi cousin 😊
Hello cousin!
Scream. It may not seem like it now but I saw it when it was released in the theater and that opening scene with Drew Barrymore was shocking. Everyone thought she was the lead.
@@huddyrx definitely a good choice, thanks! I think I may have only seen the 2022 version and maybe the first one but there are those moments for sure! all the films seem to do fairly well too!
My Favorite is Halloween!
It’s in the title right, gotta see it! 🙂 nice choice!
Evil Dead 2! Though if you want a deeper cut check out Spider Baby!
That’s two for Evil Dead 2 sounds like something to check out for sure! I’ll look into Spider Baby like those deep cuts 🙂
Favorite scary movie… Alien maybe?
@@manueldominguez9590 an excellent choice! has some really good movies in the series and one of my favorite deck builder card games!
Thanks so much for this video. It's hard to overstate just how helpful it was for learning the game with its odd flow. It went over very well when I taught it after watching this.
Thanks so much for sharing! Glad it worked out! 😊 We went through similar challenges learning it and hoped we could help. If there are other games your having challenges with let us know and we can look into it 🙂
Beetlejuice
@@shockwavemasta haven’t seen the new one yet but we do like Tim Burton films!
I think The Exorcist is still the scariest movie of all time. The satanic stuff scares the crap out of me. Honorable mention goes out to The Omen (the original).
@@thegeester1234 haha yeah that girl with the spinning head is wild, some good choices!
I thought this was an avoidance game? How come she's winning so many? lol
The game has elements of trick taking and avoidance, if you attract no cats each trick you gain is worth 2 points, 1 cat 1 point each trick, 2 cats 0 points but if you attract all 3 cats (the cats run into each other get confused) and you score 3 points per trick, I think she was going for just one cat but I made sure she got 2 😊
@@DiscovertheMeeple lol
I don't really watch scary movies outside of stuff like Ghostbusters lol
Nothing wrong with that, love some ghostbusters too!
Hands down The Shining. Although the TV miniseries is closer to the book (apparently), Kubrick's film is so good.
@@phryas 💯 agree it’s definitely a great one from Kubrick and one of Jack’s best imo, didn’t realize there was a tv series too, very cool I’ll check it out, thanks!
For me it's High Tension a not very known French Horror movie
@@nerode79 looks like a good slasher, thanks! 👍👍
I cannot understand the revealed alien mechanics , do we collectively put up to how many location cards with up to how many alien tokens , do we have a certain nuner of total strength ? Why wouldn't we just use the 2 strength all the time ? Can someone help ??
@@mazevlad2263 each character has a value of 1 strength, so they’re potentially able to beat back a revealed alien (each alien token has 1 strength but the alien can allocate more available strength to their preference) if the alien picks the location the characters decide to go but those players by going together limit the ground they can cover and risk another contagion check, does this help or do you need more clarification?
If anyone is curious how to pick up a copy of this game or other imports I’ve made videos for let me know, happy to share!
Great video, Nick!
Thank you!! 😊
I feel like it's such a boring answer but it might be Hereditary. It's a very imperfect film but it also gets under my skin like few others. My wife and I frequently whisper 'hail Paemon' to each other.
There are no boring answers :) also I see it’s a A24 film so I will be definitely tuning in, thanks, Cheers!
The Thing is one of my favorite "Horror" movies, its such a timeless classic. Additionally, I really like Nefarious (Newer movie)
@@SteadyEddieSC The Thing is excellent and a great board game too! I’ll look into Nefarious, I like checking out Indies, thanks!
Been getting into the A24 films if you’re looking for a newer horror film check out Dream Scenario
Cube 2: Hypercube
Getting Saw vibes looks cool, thanks for the recommendation!
Poltergeist
Feel like I should have seen this already being a classic, thanks for the recommendation!
My fave scary movie is Event Horizon. Most horrors are kinda boring imo, but something about Event Horizon is just deeply unsettling
Thanks for the recommendation, I’m a fan of Lawrence Fishburne, will look more into it!
Congrats Niko on winning Ghost Lift! 🎉 👻
Cabin in the Woods!
Horror comedies is not one you see too much, cast looks solid, will check it out!
Jason vs Freddy
Nice choice! Seen most of the Freddy films think I still gotta check this one out
WHEN EVIL LURKS
@@maxlemay7507 I love a good indie! thanks for the recommendation!
Rear Window. I really prefer old thrillers than modern horror for my scary movies.
@@coolerthanmilk Alfred Hitchcock movies are timeless so good!
Perfect game for halloween 👻 thats just around the corner.
💯 for sure!! 👻 🏠 🛗
The Strangers
Definitely looks spooky! thanks for the recommendation, added to the list
Evil Dead 2 for me.. But I do have a soft spot for trash 90s teen horror like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legends
@@Joe_WS good stuff, thanks for the recommendations! 3 we haven’t seen yet, with Evil Dead 2 I’m sure there’s a 1 :) and it’s all about the nostalgia sometimes 💯
It's an old one but the ending really sets it apart from other horror movies, 1999's House on Haunted Hill.
Btw thank you for a clear HTP video 😊
@@Naru-Makilove it! added to the list to check out thanks for the kind words and recommendation! 🙂 There’s definitely something spooky about a haunted house 👻
Nah, that's not "old". The original from 1959 is the old classic.
You just can’t beat a bit of Chucky and Freddy. Nightmare on elms street and Childs play.
Was recently introduced to Freddy like them a lot definitely a spooky series of films!
I didn't quite understand the acrobat joker. I didn't realize the numbers had to add to 11 or higher. I just put the marker on the top (above the 10). Great game
Yeah great game for sure, glad you’re enjoying it too and the video could clarify some things 🙂
Another great video. This game looks really good too. I'm not sure, Inflation! might just be my favourite of the two, but this games still looks like a bundle of fun. I notice you saying you don't do playthroughs very often, a bit of a shame really, because you really do, do them exceedingly well!
yeah it was a fun game me and my son had fun playing it
Really enjoyed your video! I only ordered this game today, and really looking forward to getting it. Mind you, it has one mechanic I'm terrible at, predicting the number of tricks I'm going to win. I always fluff that up, every single time. Your video was really great, I love watching playthroughs, and as I also orderd Charms, and it has been suggested in front of me, I may as well go and watch that one now.
Thanks for sharing! Predicting the amount of tricks is definitely one of the more challenging parts of trick taking as you can see I missed two of mine lol can’t go wrong with either game, we’ve been really getting into trick taking here so prob will have some more videos out soon for them! It’s nice that these ones are easier to find in the states too!
I'm yet the only with Bloody Mary (don't own that set yet)
It’s one of our favorite sets! Really like Sun Wukong and Achilles in it as well
@@DiscovertheMeeple 4 sets (minus unobtainables) to go here
Your UA-cam channel is so amazing 🤩
Can you do Roblox
Hey!! We focus more on board games but if there is one of those you’re looking to learn let us know!
I like this video👍
Codenames during the holidays is just a must! Fantastic video!
It definitely is! Thanks for the kind words 🙂
@@DiscovertheMeeple Looking forward to seeing more soon!
Love this series! I have a son who is getting into games and is really enjoying finding new ones to explore.
That’s awesome! We love to find new ones too, should have a new video out in the next month!
The pronunciation is "we-lay-ah". I'm playing this game with my friend this week soon. Thanks for the video! I'm going through your video now to get ready for my game
Hope y’all have a blast, we did for sure!
The napkin/mess was fantastic 🤣🥰🎉 (as was the rest of the vid!!)
Thanks Jon! 🙂 we had fun making the video and playing the game!😀
Thanks for the very thorough teach video Nick! One clarification: at the start of each year, the players draw 5 new cards from their decks. So at the start of Year 2, they will have 6 in hand, and 7 at the start of Year 3. In case that wasn't clear to anyone watching.
Thanks for watching and the clarification 🙂 Year 2 and 3 can definitely get built up with those extra cards!
Thanks for this. The rulebook is dreadful and, even with the annotated rules and FAQs the rules remain super unclear, so it's really useful to be able to clarify my understanding ahead of first big play.
Glad it was helpful 🙂 Hope you have a blast on your first play!
Thanks so much for covering Inside Job at the end, I'm so happy to hear your son is enjoying it! :)
It’s a common request from him 🙂 we are all really enjoying it and still need to try the risky missions and extra characters! Thanks for making such a fun game! 🙂
Thank you for the video. You helped clarify a couple of things for me. Cheers.
Glad I could help! I learned a few things after our first play too, wanted to share, cheers!
