Oh, yes, Jesus' peace. The peace of now worrying if you have some unconfessed, unremembered sin that's going to toss you into a hot hell. The peace of now panicking if you do a double-take or if any thought crosses your mind that's "sinful." Peace enough to be anxious whether you're reading your bible "enough" or praying "enough." Are you doing enough church jobs to keep god happy? So, so peaceful. And then the preacher says give until it hurts and then give more, and you worry peacefully about trying to find another dollar in your non-existent strapped budget. I left that "peace" after decades of it and I'm now much more peace-FILLED and compassionate both with myself and with other people than I EVER was as a Christian. Would never ever go back.

My granddaughter turned 20 on the 6th. She was born on my mother's birthday. I was so upset with 2, they where in no position to bring a life into the world at that time. Funny, I prayed for a very long time to wake my son up and be an adult. He gave us a baby and on my lunch I went to the cemetery to see my mother. I knelt down and cried. "Mom, you orchestrated the birth to be today to soften my heart." It certainly did, so blessed
