Blackie the Wonder Horse swam the Golden Gate channel to settle a bet between San Francisco businessman Richie "Shorty" Roberts and Bay Meadows operator Bill Kyne. Blackie completed the swim between the Marin Headlands and Crissy Field -- with Roberts in tow, nonetheless -- in a brisk 23 minutes.
