Cool! I didn’t know the trails were open when it was covered in snow! Eat video! I was in Ranker but during July.
Much more confidence on that narrow, snow-covered bridge than I’d have! I’ve crossed the Nisqually glacier, up near Paradise. In the summer🙂
It was beautiful to experience in the winter-I usually only experience it in the summer because winter road closures make the drive so long! And yes-confidence comes with experience!
Fantastic Richard. I've done some rock climbing in this area but never made it to the Oak tree. It's on my list.
It’s a bit pathetic that I have a favorite oak tree, but the regional oak stands are fantastic. I really enjoy watching the climbers scaling the Tieton andesite flow when I hike there, but I’ve never tried it myself. Hoping to learn how-but quickly becoming too old, lol!
K and L are pretty spectacular too. But this was so nice. Good video.
How do you get there

@ thank you
Nice virtual walking tour. This video gives me a precious experience as if I were walk there! Thanks to your work. I hope you have a lot of good things this weekend.
what state are you in?
Eastern Washington
Thank you Prof
Beautiful! And can you also post the full video without music?
I’m working on a video for the White Pass Nordic Trails that will have no music-but it’s a couple of weeks out. I’m skiing every trail in the system first so that I understand it clearly.
Thanks so much Richard. Enjoying this snowshoe trip from my desk at 5:30 a.m. I could feel the chill.
One of my favorite winter hikes.
What a sight 😊
Wow! Beautiful. The best part, no mosquitoes. Lol!
Definitely a plus, lol! Left the mosquito nets at home for this one!
Great video.. I’m getting crampons or something similar and hiking to Muir around August…
It’s a tough hike, but it was worth it.
At least there are no mosquitoes at this time of year!
Agreed! We’ve been through there right after a hatch, and if you don’t have the right equipment, it’s miserable, lol!
Awesome video looks beautiful but tough
It’s not too bad, actually, if someone has already broken the trail. If you go up after a heavy snowfall and are having to break trail, it can be really tough.
Little avi danger??
None-the route in on this hike doesn’t have any spots that have enough gradient to pose avalanche risk. It’s a go-to for us when avalanche risk is high regionally.
@ like they are this weekend. Good to know. Thanks. Love the vids
Thank you, sir! You can also transform your x and y values in polar coordinate system, which'll result in 4-r^2 rdrd theta, where r changes from 0 to 2, while theta changes from 0 to 2 pi
Thank you for this
Nice hike! Could a mountain bike navigate the trail from Moore Point into Stehekin?
Much of the trail is in the Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness, so I believe mountain bikes are prohibited on the Lakeshore Trail. If they were permitted, I would be very comfortable biking that stretch of trail.
Living in the Northwest, I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely have to check out more of the canyon trails
White pass is so fun!
Wonder what it’s like to hike in the other direction??
Significantly more difficult--there is a net elevation gain between the lower and upper trailhead.
This is one of my 2 favorite states 😍 Very beautiful video!
Really great, thanks
Lots of snow what a beautiful day
The snow is early this year and it looks like were going to pick up another pretty sizeable snowfall within the week.
Great hike. It’s nice being able to do winter hikes in fall. The trails being nearly deserted is great too. I tried to do Maple Loop Pass on the 4th but too much snow so just went to Lake Ann.
We didn't see another person on our trip--it is always fabulous to have the trail to oneself! The early snow, before it's so deep that you need snowshoes or skis is also excellent.
Nice! Thank you for sharing.
I love the tombstone so much, 1am studying and this saved me a ton of time, thank you so much!
That was a great plan B. Such a beautiful area.
I was feeling a bit grumpy about it, but then it was just fantastic.
Amazing fall colors!
Thank you for the adventure. The views were just so beautiful & calming. We have just come into our Summer over here, high temperature & Thunderstorms. But we only have a few places light yours ,all along the East Coast,& in Tasmania. Wishing you all the best in your adventures,Elaine from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Beautiful
Ty for the great refresher!

"Get outside!!"
Yep!
Handy stuff 👍
How were the mosquitoes?
This was mid-August and there were none.
Looks like a tough but great day
Great views, but I had sore legs the next day for sure!
@@richardswearingenoutdoors I bet but always so worth it
Awesome video probably one of the most difficult hikes in Yakima county , the only one I did there that was more difficult was a hike into Devils Washbasin lake dropping down from Bear Creek Mountain across the shale fields the scrambling up Devils Horns about 600' to the lake.
I ve been eyeing that washbasin I bet not a soul either Brute hike i m sure Love off trail but she punishes
Thank you for making this video. Goat Rocks has been on my list for awhile. You did such a great job filming the scenery and narrating. Bravo!
What a beautiful video! Really helped to see this section. Well done!
Look at all those new tree starts at the beginning of the video. Love it!
great hike. good job guys
