    Cool! I didn’t know the trails were open when it was covered in snow! Eat video! I was in Ranker but during July.

    Much more confidence on that narrow, snow-covered bridge than I’d have! I’ve crossed the Nisqually glacier, up near Paradise. In the summer🙂

      It was beautiful to experience in the winter-I usually only experience it in the summer because winter road closures make the drive so long! And yes-confidence comes with experience!

    Fantastic Richard. I've done some rock climbing in this area but never made it to the Oak tree. It's on my list.

      It’s a bit pathetic that I have a favorite oak tree, but the regional oak stands are fantastic. I really enjoy watching the climbers scaling the Tieton andesite flow when I hike there, but I’ve never tried it myself. Hoping to learn how-but quickly becoming too old, lol!

      I’m working on a video for the White Pass Nordic Trails that will have no music-but it’s a couple of weeks out. I’m skiing every trail in the system first so that I understand it clearly.

      It’s not too bad, actually, if someone has already broken the trail. If you go up after a heavy snowfall and are having to break trail, it can be really tough.

    • @richardswearingenoutdoors
      @richardswearingenoutdoors Місяць тому

      None-the route in on this hike doesn’t have any spots that have enough gradient to pose avalanche risk. It’s a go-to for us when avalanche risk is high regionally.

    Thank you, sir! You can also transform your x and y values in polar coordinate system, which'll result in 4-r^2 rdrd theta, where r changes from 0 to 2, while theta changes from 0 to 2 pi

    • @richardswearingenoutdoors
      @richardswearingenoutdoors Місяць тому

      Much of the trail is in the Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness, so I believe mountain bikes are prohibited on the Lakeshore Trail. If they were permitted, I would be very comfortable biking that stretch of trail.

    Great hike. It’s nice being able to do winter hikes in fall. The trails being nearly deserted is great too. I tried to do Maple Loop Pass on the 4th but too much snow so just went to Lake Ann.

      We didn't see another person on our trip--it is always fabulous to have the trail to oneself! The early snow, before it's so deep that you need snowshoes or skis is also excellent.
