    It's funny because if I went against this guy today. He would lose. I was going through some real life stuff prior to this tournament also I was only 17 at the time. So yeah. I will never lose again when I come back. And I'm not being nice believe that.

    Poor refereeing. The black guy had the right idea backing away from that. You can see his though process was, "yeah we're not doing that." He just needed to circle ass-in-the-air until the guys got tired, but the ref basically told him to engage, rather than just warning him of his proximity to the edge of the mat.

    • @Ebenezer563
      @Ebenezer563 4 роки тому

      You're not allowed to back away and refuse to engage your opponent if they have gone to the ground. If he didn't engage he would be disqualified

    Traditional, period accurate Jiu Jitsu would realistically work much better, because it was a complete and practical fighting system, one that included strikes as well as grappling. It was taught and used in the context of something that needed to kill someone who is trying to kill you, not as the sport it is used as today(which includes the UFC). Unfortunately, the traditional, practical form of Samurai's JJ no longer exists. Modern japanese JJ is more of an art form than a fighting style, and BJJ is strictly a grappling sport.

    For all the cunts saying "oh this won't work in a real fight" and "not good for self defense", well no fucking shit. That's why BJJ is primarily a sport. If you wanted "real world self defense" then learn a strike oriented martial art like boxing. People really need to learn to differentiate between what's taught as a sport and what's taught as self defense.

    Sad. That's just non realistic. I'd like to see bjj competitions with punches and kicks. Like mma but with Gi and protections maybe. A bit like sambo but with punches in the ground and more time in the ground. I don't know, i'm dreaming but, that would actually be good for the art, maybe two kind of competitions, with and without punches.

    there hasn't been "persecution" of latvians since the days of the USSR, & he's too young for that. if you've seen him in 2 street fights in the time you've known him he probably invites trouble - which might be why he "fled" latvia. the fight example that you gave is assault on his part. i've trained with the various baltic region "special forces" for years and they're nothing to brag about. other than that... he played the game within the rules and won. good job.

    You were painting a good portrait for him until you mentioned he picks fights at the street because someone touched his girl. What a sad thing to hear. He seems to be a good purple belt and, as such, he should know fighters keep fighting at the mat.

      @nickyboyjiu-jitsu3612 11 місяців тому

      What are you talking about!? Pretty sure if someone was touching his girl then fighting that guy is actually justified lol what kind of world do you live in where people randomly touch a mans girl and not expect to have a fight!? Youre mentality is unrealistic af dude lol gtfoh
