Honda CT 110 Engine Rebuild
Переглядів 7714 днів тому
Managed to "save" an old CT110 from the rubbish tip. This video is of the initial tear down and inspection of the engine. Engine was destined to be cut up, due to looking worse for wear being left to the elements for many years. Closer inspection, it was evident it was worth saving as the piston and bore looked in good condition. Replacing all bearings, timing chain, points, clutch plates and a...
Suzuki K10 Cut-Away Final Assembly

Finally finished the cut-away of the Suzuki K10. I'm glad I started on a 2 stroke engine with a lot less moving parts. Now it's completed, it goes straight to the "Pool Room"!

Motorcycle Engine Cut Away - Suzuki K10
Переглядів 117Місяць тому
Part 1 of the engine cut away of our little Suzuki K10 - 2 stroke engine. As all cutting is done by hand using power and air tools, the edges will need to be sanded and a lot of cleaning of surfaces after all parts are finished.
Suzuki K10 Engine Clean
Переглядів 207Місяць тому
Engine dismantled. Covers and cases cleaning and polishing. Next process is to wash all internal parts ready for "dry" assembly to mark out which areas to cut for the displaying of the internal workings. A lot of thought going into it as we cannot make any mistakes. New bearings going in, purely for show on crank shaft. Maybe new piston if we can find one.

Not really a restoration, more a preservation. Some new parts added due to age and wear, but mostly original.
Suzuki K10 Engine Tear Down
Переглядів 79Місяць тому
From our "Barn Find" we saved the engine for our next project. Our long term plan is to create a "cut-away" display engine. First step is to free piston from barrel. Then complete tear down, clean, polish and start cutting up engine covers. Stay tuned, it could end in disaster!
Motorcycle Barn Finds
Переглядів 2312 місяці тому
We picked up 2 "Barn Finds" to get the motors and a couple of parts for stock. One is a Suzuki "Bearcat" I believe. 80cc and was sold in Australia as a farm bike. The other is a 1980 Honda CT110 postie bike. Both engines are past their used by date, but we have plans the dissect them into cut away displays. Our first attempt at such an undertaking. Stay tuned for further updates.
Yamaha SRX 250 Two Steps Back

The twin carby set-up worked to a point in the higher rev range but would not run at low revs. Refitted original carbies with reduced sized main jet in main carby. This ran smoother but still issues of running rich, perhaps causing plug to foul up which in-turn causes cut out of engine at idle?

Trouble with original carburetors which led me to try a dual carby arrangement. Yet to try it on the road as we need to tune a bit.

An update of our CT110 preservation build. Nothing fancy about this build. Simply make it usable and function as it should. Fitting new parts where needed for safety reasons is a must though.

Honda CT110 Complete Clutch Assembly
Great video fellas, thank you very much! Will definitely help me with my con rod replacement, cheers
Thanks. Took me a few days to rig up some device to hold the crank under the press. The fun starts in the video doing the crank alignment! LOL
Would absolutely love to know what song that was lollll 😂😂😂❤
Pink Floyd! What else.
I just bought one and I was wondering if you have to prime the head when you give it an oil change im not sure and I don’t want to be wrong and ruin it.
No need. Change oil and the oil pump sends it around the engine. Get it warm first. There should be residual oil in the top end so no damage when starting.
@@motorcyclerestomagic8070 thank you so much that’s what I needed
Interesting project. I suppose someone has to do it..
Ever since high school I wanted to make one. Our metalwork teacher was a keen motorcyclist and he suggested it, but I was trying to finish school on a good note to become a printer!
@@motorcyclerestomagic8070 I can barely remember high school.
Is this going to be a lamp for your desk?
Here in the UK they were B100P and really popular, I remember Motorcycle Mechanics magazine recommending them to pretty well everyone who wrote in for buying advice, they were affectionately known as Bloops
I think this is a B100P but the engine number simply states B100. Thanks for the comment.
Yep, a Bloop. Had one as a loaner for students on an ACU/Surrey County Council motorcycle training scheme I taught on in the mid '80s. Never had any problems with it, though it was years old.
Mine was blue, it was marked as a 120, not a 100, but it looks like pretty much exactly the same animal. Shit! We're old! That was 50 years ago. Does it have a 4 speed straight down gearbox, with Neutral at the top? That led to a bit of confusion, until I figured out what was going on, I can tell you. Now try a British 'classic' right-foot change, one up and then 3 or 4 down, with a heavy wooden clutch. Again, it all makes rather good sense, once you get used to it, but ~ Like a reverse pattern / 'race shift' on the left foot, it's not too bad if that's the only bike you ride, but if you ride that and then try to ride a 'normal' bike ~ you're in a world of trouble. I have not had the joy of trying to ride in the USA or any place they drive / ride on the right, but I'd guess that's the same only more-so. Something that's the habit of a lifetime, suddenly you've got to do the exact opposite, and if you forget for 3 seconds it can kill you, and quite possibly other people too.
Thanks for the info.
Can anybody say me how much oil consume dt175? I need to understand one tank oil (0.9 liter) enought to how much trip? I own 2006 model dt175
Can I stop the pump ? Just premix my gas ? Any idea what ratio ?
Yes, it can be removed. Manufacture a plate the cover the hole leading into the engine worm drive (from memory). Or simply leave it connected and take off the cable leading to the pump from accelerator cable junction. Mixture I recall somewhere at 25:1? But don't quote me. Go to a Facebook site for DT enduro's perhaps.
ua-cam.com/video/r5JUX99QBnQ/v-deo.html Here's a start. Lots of youtube clips available.
Love you video. I’ve got one I’m trying to sort out in the UK. I learnt to ride on one in Australia and bought an import one here as a project. Mine does a very similar thing. My plan was to ride it and see if it improves as I too have checked everything.
Thanks Roger. I don't ride mine enough. Had it for many years and just start it in the workshop and maybe a quick 5k sprint around the block. I suspect it needs a good thrashing.....lol.
Stai proprio bene di quella motoretta😂😂😂😂
Think the Bultaco Pursang is the most beautiful bike ever built.😊
TROP BRUYANTE POUR TOURNER EN VILLE ........PARFAITE POUR LE PARIS // DAKAR .
Hi do you have a decent wiring diagram by any chance, restored mine, but electrics/earths are shot to bits
Email me and I'll send you workshop manual. alozsan@hotmail.com
The baby brother to my 71 model 87 350 Pursang.
tengo una y quiero venderla enduro 125 año 1980 buen estado
Cool
where did you get the leopard print seat? looks mad
It's just a piece of material the owner glued on. Close up it looks ridiculous! Soon to be covered in suede leather as it's going on a prospecting bike to stop a sweaty crutch!
This bike would have been kind of competitive in 1974. CR125’s were $795 that year. Thus, not many Bultaco’s on the starting line. Twice that price as I recall. I saw one, once, in 1973. I saw a Maico 125 that year as well, rotary valve. Always wanted one of these Pursangs. The carb looks like a period correct 30mm Mikuni. I think they came stock with an Amal. Almost everything during that timeframe had the rear shocks moved up on the swing arm, for about 6” travel. This bike is stock with a little over 4”. Moving the top mounting location forward in addition to moving the bottom mount, by cutting and bending the frame, and then relocating that shock mount, gave a little more travel, but it screwed up the air box enclosure. It did make the rear a little more progressive in initial travel due to the shock angle being closer to what the original design was. You could reduce the shock travel an inch, or you could use the stock shocks and increase the spring rate and change the dampening, and just live with a steeper angle on the front end, which actually made some bikes turn a lot better. We all had a couple inches of extra seat foam too to make the transition from sitting to standing easier. So whoever had this thing probably did not race it a lot, as it is essentially in stock form. It is in nice shape. They sound glorious, that I definitely remember.
Thanks for the info. The bike was originally from USA and bought into Australia. It was raced in the US but I'm guessing just club runs perhaps if all the shocks etc are standard. Real sad to see it gone.
Coming up pretty good there young fella!👍
Thanks Phil.
Thats what i call rare we never recieved these bikes in australia because we had to put up with what the unions brought into australia and they denied us the beauty of bikes that came from europe
Big money for these classics.
Valuable bikes.
This was my second motocross bike.
It was sad to see it go.
Looks good Al , just buy new parts if old ones are shitty .
Parts should arrive this week. Fork seals, sprockets, chain, globes. All good.
CT 90, How old is that?
1991 Model. 6 Volt. It's actually a CT110. Cleaned off some crud and found engine 105cc and VIN code plate.
@@motorcyclerestomagic8070 yes thought so. Not sure Aus post used 90s They used cub 50s in the early days.
And I thought mine was rusty...
the fire blue, its sign was good..?
Yes. When it turns blue it is burning fuel correctly
What was it you hammered on to get that screw/bolt out?
Hi. It's an Eze out the goes over the Philips head. I just tap it to get a grip. As you unscrew bolt it grips the bolt as it has reverse jaws. Like standard easy out but works on the outside of the bolt.
Got it. Thanks for the quick reply. Happy Thanksgiving. @@motorcyclerestomagic8070
Great lighting and easy to follow along. When I reassemble my clutch after new oiled plates it won't spin one way and not the other, won't spin either way. Stumped
Not spinning one way is normal as it locks within the centre splines. It take a little effort to make it turn the other way due to friction on the plates. I won't "spin", it does have drag so it should turn one way only.
@@motorcyclerestomagic8070 Strangest thing, but I could only make it work *without the 2 small springs ..just using the 4 full length springs it works fine. I can see why people leave them out 🙂 Thanks again your video was such a great help!
Why not just tap a smaller thread into spindle and leave protuding original ??.
Well that spindle holds the right side stand so need to be decent size. Besides that I don't have large dies. Just thought using same size bolt would be best. 30min job without buying new die.
Very good instructional video.👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Am I really seeing a rubber hose clamped to the head pipe? That was a dream bike of mine at 11 years old, when they were new. That's when I fell in love with the Pursang, the 71-72 red and silver ones. I now have a 71 M87 350 Pursang.
Yes. A rubber connector hose. I also scratched my head.
Oh yea the ST was definitely a improvement over the 1000S with the shorter pipes , rear sets , & wheels & discs off the GSX1100 but the one area it was let down by Suzuki cost cutting was not having the incorporated dash with the fuel / temp & clock ,from the first model seems picky wanting a clock but once you had it working with the tripmeter , it was easy to work out long distances between fuel stops, Australia’s out back Petrol Stations in those days were few & far between , you did a great job mate ,that engine came up a treat , looks like you polished the covers & painted the cases . very schmick job , very sharp. 👌
If I remember yes, polished covers. Painted casing. Covers were polished at factory, then clear coated! Stupid idea coz the clear coat turns yellow.
What is the idle engine rpm ?
Around 900rpm?
Thank you... What about spark plug number and the gap ?
My brother raced one👍
I dont remember Kawasaki making a KZ250, a Z250 yes but not a KZ250, enlighten me.
I was told it's a KZ250. Maybe only in Australia? Where are you from?
Do you remember what Main and Pilot jets sizes you used? Love your bike!
Sorry I don't. Far as I recall it was standard jetting.
Would have been cool if you showed any of the connections
Sorry. Pretty basic connections with bullet style. Any splicing is soldered in. Thanks for watching.
What would this service be called? I've got an old XL70 seatpan that's on par with this one I need fixed and idk if fiber glass is my skill set haha 😅
Start with a small area. I used the seat foam for a mould, but have saved seats with holes in the metal pan by covering with fibreglass. If you stuff up, just grind off with flap wheel.......wear a mask!
Once a bull freak always a bull freak
Terribly Nice!
Stunner well done, love the green trim on the seat.
Very nice car, I have it in Thailand.
Has the divider wall on the ports been ali welded,,,?? Cheers
Can't tell you, Sorry. At a glance it seemed to be in the casting????? It was years ago and the bike has since left me.
Lindo trabajo amigo mío... Excelente!!! Estoy resucitando un KZ250A. Aquí en Vzla salió a la pista el año 1986. Necesito el piñón loco del sistema de arranque, es decir el engrane que funciona entre el arranque y la cremallera... Me puedes ayudar??? Quien puede ser que lo tenga?? Agradecido por cualquier información!!! Saludos
Google the part. Check E Bay.
Is this really a dt175? Look more like an rs100/125
Yes. 175cc. .5 oversize piston fitted.
EXCELLENT WORK !!
Thank you. Nice guitar!
Wow. Very beatiful bike. Congratulations Long live for the old spanish motorcycles
The Bully is beautiful 🤠🐕🦺🏍👍🏻
