Peggy Lee helped define what it meant to be a female singer songwriter and her cool captivating voice continues to inspire me along with so many artists including Joni Mitchell, Paul McCartney, Michael Buble, Billie Bilish and many more. However, as I took a deep dive and learned about her life, I realized that her story was largely forgotten, so it's been my great privilege and joy to create this show. - Alice Leon
Peggy Lee was a creative powerhouse, directing her life and career on her own terms. Best known for such songs as "Fever,", "I'm A Woman," and
"Why don't you do right", she amassed over 100 chart entries, 13 Grammy Award nominations, and in 1969 she received the Grammy award for Best Contemporary Vocal Performance for her hit "Is That All There Is?." In 1995, she received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

This is a great catchy tune that should be on the radio every Christmas season. I have a signed copy of "The Girl on the Box" CD which contains Regifting. I met Alice years ago at a small ski lodge in New York. Very friendly and talented woman. I think if this tune had a professional video with lyrics for people to read as well, it would go viral on Facebook, etc.

What a joy . . . to have this band gifting us with such sensitive stuff. Just a tinge of Beatlesque cadences here and there. Great production. Love when Ali digs deep into her vocal range to deliver that whispery rasp on her low notes like in the very last line of this song and in the hooky title lyric in This is It.
Why Do I feel like I am busted every time I hear this song. This should be a big hit for sure.
I really enjoyed this. A great video for one of the best new holiday songs to come along in quite some time. Well done. (This song also features the best usage of the word "crap" in any holiday ditty)
