Can you make a template for a 25 foot radius pdf as well? Or can anyone else share a 25 foot radius pdf with me? Is there any issue using plywood instead of mdf? How far below the router sled is your router bit depth? Do you just need to cut a little bit below the router sled? And thank you for sharing the pdf for the 15 foot.
how can i find this exact picture of the figures you printed? I can't find exactly that
Sorry, I don't have this file anymore, but I'm pretty sure this is it: images.app.goo.gl/LyZcbWZc3uYhM4FH6
hey there! you made a great figure, but I'm interested in how the head with the drill is fixed.. I have the same small lathe and everything is very similar to yours, but I want to make a drill head like the one you used when drilling the hole.. I saw that the part that goes in is in a cone.. but how is it secured so that it does not rotate while drilling the hole?
check my pawn video, I talk about it
Cool! You have plans of this binding jig you sell?
Hey, no, I'm not selling any plan, but my jig is just my version of many other similar on youtube,
Another great video, Mathieu. Merci beaucoup! I have learned a lot watching you work and I think this will help me avoid a few mistake as I continue my first build. Question re Trujillo (which I am using on a uke build currently) : did you need to buff after drying? And if so, by hand or using a wheel? Thank. John in the Ottawa Valley.
Hi, not I did not buff the finish. Some people do, but I decided not to and I really like my finish like it is.
Bonjour Mathieu.
Bro you are awesome!!! I was wondering how I was gonna get one of these! It’s looking like I’m just gonna make it now! Rock on! Good work!!
Thanks, glad my video could help you !
Very entertaining video. Awesome job!
thanks!
What if you want to make the binding 2 tone?, ie with two separate bindings? Since you are committed to one dimension??
Mathieu- you've inspired me to build my first guitar...thanks so much for putting this content out there! Question - what steps did you take to modify your Dremel circle cutting jig? Did you drill out the existing pin and enlarge the hole to fit a 3/16" rod? Or something different?
Hey, thanks for your comment, I’m glad you find my vidéos inspiring! As for the circle jig, I removed the pin and actually welded a small piece or metal tubing with an inside hole of 3/16. Hope this helps!

Incredible
Well worth the wait. They are beautiful and sound as good as they look.
thanks!
Congratulations Mathieu!! Excelent work
thanks!
WoW, Amazing guitars, very pretty. I don’t know a oiled can do a shinny fisnish like that. Looks like clear coat on it. Great job. I’m hope you do a sound test video. Great job Mathieu! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful.
Thank you
Two very beautiful guitars Mathieu. I can't wait to see them with the tru oil finish, and finally hear them being played.
thanks!
the controler can be homemade?
A few steps to go and they will be playable guitars 🎶🎵 i stay tune
I'm curious. Why on earth did you use such massive threaded rod? That had to be really expensive. Also, I love the idea of using plasti-dip to treat the ends. Great job!
haha, I could probably have gone with smaller rods, but the top is quite heavy so I didn't want it to wobble too much and it really wasn't much more money that 1/2 or 5/8 rods.
@@magimat Excellent! Rock on.
I was expecting that the sound top would have a dome as well like the back plate. Is there a reason why?
you're right, most tops also have a very little radius, like 45 feet radius. It's not really sound related, more of a structural feature to somehow prevent the top to move with humidity, but I decided to skip this part for my guitars. Didn't want to make another dish!
I've tried making a Knight. Rather than make it out of one piece, I cut the horse head out of a rectangular blank on the scroll saw. I first cut out the profile of the horse head, and reattached the two slices of wood that I removed using double sided scotch tape. I then cut out the obverse image, and removed the excess wood. This left a rough carving of the horse head, and then i finished carving it with both hand tools and a Dremel. I then turned the base of the piece and glued the two together with a dowel in the joint. It's also possible to turn the horse heads as a bowl, with the front of the head on the inside surface of the bowl, and the back of the head on the outside. Then you cut out slices of the bowl for each of the heads, and again finish with hand tools or a Dremel to add the final touches. A separate base is again turned and the two parts are glued together. You can make the Knight in one piece as you did, but out of a round stock. Hold the dowel in a wood compression clamp to make the saw cuts.
Hi Mathieu. I am starting my first acoustic guitar today and found your channel. Great job and great information to help people doing the same. I want to say Thankyou for taking the time to share your experience and knowledge. It is a huge help and also entertaining. Merci beaucoup from Australia.
Thanks Pete!
Looked pretty heavy on the water but extra time to bond well!
As you glued 2 MDF plates , can we route 25 feet radius on one side and 20 Feet on other side, instead of making different plates?
I guess you could do that, but the center could get pretty thin
@@magimat i measured the Gap, it will be 18mm at center between 28 Feet and 20 Feet radius disk on both side, if we route in both side, pl suggest.
Great job Mathieu! New steps was the key for a good playability i think. Lowest string action with no buzz. Which strings you will be use on it ? Maybe it is a little bit too early for that Choice 😊
Bonjour Mathieu.
Bonjour Mathieu, thanks for posting these amazing videos. I am a little behind you in terms of building, and so the binding router guide and this video were very useful for jigs I need to build soon. There are a few of these videos on UA-cam, but in my opinion, yours are the most informative for beginners. I love the time-lapse portion followed by the discussion. Take care. John near Ottawa
Thanks! Im really glad to hear that my videos are useful for you. Thanks for atching.
Another great work! Like your choice of woods, this necks look pretty good.
Thanks Patrice!
Can’t really see what you’re doing!
funny, can't really see your comment either!
Can you possibly tell us what your blank size is for each piece? 😊
hi, it's been a while, but I think all my blanks were about 2"x2" at beginning.
So glad I found your videos. I have been looking for someone who turned an entire chess set. Thank you so much.. Your work is beautiful.
thanks!
Yesterday I used this approach but instead of an electric router, y used a router plane. takes more time, but less of a mess with dust, because each pass peels thick strip chunks of mdf. Either way, it is fun and good way to save $90 per dish.
your method for cutting the kerfing on the bandsaw is brilliant!
love it
Great!
Wow! Magnifique! Trop hot cousin!
Great project and great tutorial!

Really useful! Thanks for posting!
Hi There. I enjoy watching your nice videos. I would be interested in purchasing an acoustic guitar mold. Would you be interested in selling one? I would be interested in an OM (Orchestra Model). Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you. I really love how you added the cork on the spreaders to protect the sides. You don't see that too often. You are indeed passionate. Have a good one and cheers from Toronto.
Excellent!
Very cool! Good Job Mathieu 👍🏻
Impressive. Love the connection to your home security system.
thanks!
