I was discipled by the Navigators as a young USAF guy back when I lived in Germany. I had heard of Mr. Swindoll through the Navs and his affiliation with the USMC. Mr. Swindoll did a tour where he was sharing his book "The Grace Awakening" down in a place we called little America. Talk about shooting a missile through the door of my heart. His talk on the book was extraordinary and from that day forward I never let anyone put the yolk of slavery around my neck again. So powerful and everyone who wants to know what "Freedom in Christ" truly is, needs to read it. So thankful that God used you Mr. Swindoll. It was an honor to meet you, talk to you, shake your hand and know, I will get to enjoy eternity with you along with men and women who choose Jesus Christ as the authority over there lives. Thank you for your testimony sir. touched my heart again.

Only heard the first minute and decided to add a comment. I had serious complications after a simple surgery two weeks ago. Post surgery, I spent five days in ICU, but was rushed back a day after being released. I then spent another three days in ICU. I have dear godly friends. However, I have found these spiritual family members send texts rather than visit. Then they say their demanding prayers to the Lord, while grasping my body or via text message. And if they do visit, as they leave they tell me, “You are healed in Jesus’s name.” Heck, I had cardiac arrest. I died. My entire body is recovering. Yet, its recovery time seems to not fit the Believer’s plan. So, the two weeks ago vibrant person I once was now rest in a nursing home’s bed. My current companions are those I see as I try to walk a hallway with my walker. The good news about these neighbors, they don’t demand my healing; they simply greet me, wave, tell me good job, or simply offer a smile. I now wonder, where have we learned this version of Christ? What have our churches been doing??? Churches on nearly every corner in many Western countries yet the Christ-likeness is reserved for some author’s award winning book I have been offered to read, about suffering, as my godly friends suggest I read it to learn how to walk through this crisis. Hint. I don’t need to read the book. I’m living it and I am wearing the tee-shirt. No rant intended. Honestly, the Lord has presented Himself like a close coach and steadfast father that provides me wisdom and a silent surrounding support that can barely be explained. And this has happened at every juncture of this unexpected season: e.g., horrific pain, seeing the scar of surgery, and the weakness of not understanding why I can no longer walk to a bathroom in my room as people must clean me and change my diaper. However, regarding being like Christ, I am saddened by a few of my godly friends who know of this challenge. Therefore, most importantly, I now pray, if I regain my strength, my heart and lungs are still weak, I hope my testimony is expressed through change in me. And the change is not reserved for being invited to share on a podcast or invited to write a book. Instead, I hope to GOD the LORD uses this season to help me show Himself to others, according to His standard, in every encounter I have been revived back to life to experience. P. S. I was revived back to life after two hours of Code Blue actions provided by a very committed medical team. My lungs have suffered, my heart is damaged, and my original leg that received the surgery is desperately fighting to recover without the proper attention it demands. It’s been a wild journey.❤

I like that t-shirt( Faith, Hope and Love). I am someone with an obvious disability that I have not yet received Healing for. My conclusion has me believing that we all will be totally Healed in Gods timing. I don’t even think about my healing anymore personally, I am simply trusting God has His reasons and submit to That knowledge. I cannot talk for those with severe painful illnesses because when I was in that state in the past, I just wanted God to take me home but that painful time has since be relieved.

Reframing ministry is a very appropriate name for this kind of ministry. Helping folks to rethink some core beliefs by addressing some biblical realities we face. A Truth that I was reminded about in relation to the Gospel when I first believed, that Truth that set you free. Oh how the enemy wants to enslave us again by means of forgetfulness. It was His Love towards me that drives me to Love God and his people. I had slipped back to self love that so easily gets us so self focused. This interview has helped me to reframe my perspective back to the First Love.

  • @Barnabas70x7

With over 55 years of dealing with my own disability. I have come to realise that trying to get other people to accept me with my disability is kind of a waste of time. I know, I am in a fallen world and that ultimately one day with my Glorified body the imperfections will be done away with. People are too busy trying to deal with their own struggles. This world will not get better until Jesus is King of all. In regards to your comment of being alone and your friends not coming over to be with you watching a movie and just hanging out together, my thoughts was the business of this fallen world has relied upon these impersonal technology that give caring texts or voice call, but in reality they don’t really satisfy. My belief is that we the (church) need to simplify and work towards face to face interaction with people as communities or in our friendships. I do enjoy listening to these conversations but probably would rather be there in person.

Please don’t take this as some kind of simple solution because I don’t think there is one. As I say this, I’m actually rebuking myself because I tend not to do this, I get too quick with wrong emotions. We need Love.

You said something that rang true with me too. I was helping someone going through something that I had already been through and my advice was what I needed to embrace myself too. I knew the answer I was giving but had struggled to embrace it personally. Interesting how God does that. It was related to The Truth of scripture. Wow- I posted my post then straight away you mentioned Truth that set you free. In my case, I believe it was Gods timing, if that makes sense.
