Classic Albums Live - Bob Marley’s Redemption Song
Nice little surprise at tonight’s show (May 24, 2024) featuring Bob Marley’s Legend album. Bob Marley’s Granddaughter, Donisha Prendergast, came out to start off the show with a brief introduction about her famous grandfather’s message of love, peace & unity and how nice it was to see his music being celebrated 50 years on. She is now residing in the GTA and is Founder & Executive Director of the non-profit group Humanity Ova Vanity. (www.humanityovavanity.org)
The band was lead by singer, Chris Rouse, who also covers Prince in the Purple Rain show, sounded incredible duplicating the vocal stylings of the reggae superstar, Bob Marley. The rest of the band were known point too as usual. Given Legend is a lengthy album, the last 5 or 6 tunes were done in the 2nd half of the show, followed up by a few bonus tracks to round out the evening. Great way to cap of the week and slide into the weekend with some of Marley’s finest work. Irie!

Big Sugar, originating from my home town of Toronto, Canada, has been around for decades now, but tonight (March 28, 2024) has been my 1st opportunity to see them live. Gordie Johnson’s still at the helm and doing a bang-up job. They played from 8-11pm with a short intermission. The 1st half of the show concentrated on their 2nd album, 500 lbs. The 2nd half was a mix of new & old hits from othe...

Classic Albums Live: Led Zeppelin’s No Quarter

The guys from CAL just sending it, with their note for note rendition of No Quarter. Such a great album I was tempted to record every song, but I’m there to watch them live so I don’t want to spend the whole show watching it on my phone, so you only get a couple tunes. If you are able, go see them live. Tickets are often very affordable, especially considering ticket prices for most shows these...

A little crowd interaction at the beginning, song starts at 1:02 if you want to skip ahead to the start of Stairway to Heaven. The guys from CAL knocking out another awesome night of Zeppelin tunes. The 1st half of the show featured the album Houses of the Holy, but this track was from the 2nd half where they do a bunch of other hits from the same band featured earlier. This show was on March 2...

The gang from Classic Albums Live were at it again at Massey Hall performing the AC/DC album Highway to Hell. I’ve seen piles of these shows, but this is the 1st time seeing them try AC/DC on for size. Trying to replicate the vocal stylings of either Bon Scott or Brian Johnson is a pretty tall order, so I’d say the singer tonight generally did fairly well. Was he a perfect Bon or Brian, no, but...

You wouldn’t happen to know the name of the last song played last night ?
I believe it was called Iron Lion Zion
Fantastic concert! Does anyone know who the lead singer was??
I noted it in the description…Chris Rouse!
The song of the ages.
I saw these guys perform the entire double album Physical Graffiti in 2023 at Toronto, Ontario's Massey Hall and they are outstanding, just incredibly talented...a night I'll never forget ❤
I was also at that show. See my other vids for a couple songs from it.
Will look those up. Any idea how to find their upcoming show dates?
@@MeMe-bs3tc www.classicalbumslive.com
@@velcroboy Thanks! Unfortunately only one upcoming date and it's nowhere near me but I'll watch that website 🤘
Not sure where you’re located but the next show at Massey Hall is May 24 when they’re doing Legend by Bob Marley. I’ll be there. Otherwise there are several other shows around the GTA with shows available into next year.
well done!..
Personally i rather listen to hart,'s cover
I just love Led Zeppelin’s music
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've waited all these years to see a Rickenbacker 12 string used on it.
make sure and pay your royalties !!
How many lead guitars dis it take tae change a light bulb?a 100 wan tae say that's easy an 99 tae say a kid dae that better.🤣🤣
nick walsh is awesome, was at this show and the whos next show...amazing ..renewed my love for zeppelin
I played for Robert plant on drums 1985 now I'm 67
You wrote to some viewer :" You’re entitled to your opinion, but if you’re going to be a hater, keep it to yourself ". Totally agree-therefore i keep it for myself ! No hard feelings please
Best Band
Beautiful song
Bem interpretado
Great rendition. Wish I could be in the crowd. Good job guys!
Very weak
You’re entitled to your opinion, but if you’re going to be a hater, keep it to yourself.
It’s a very completed performance. But remember it’s recorded by phone. No backing vocal. No keyboard. Your expectations are unrealistic and disrespectful.
I was at this show - awesome performance all around! The Scene was a real stand-out for me and got the crowd up on their feet. Nice vid 👍
Thank you.
Perfect!
The only way to come close to the record is to add a keyboard player and an acoustic guitar player
agreed. iPhone is good but far from professional equipment. There are keyboards. The guy in the back left is on keys. There’s another keyboard on the far right at the back, but the woman that plays that one is mostly hidden behind the bass player. If the musicians aren’t involved in the song they leave the stage.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written & performed perfectly, as well.
Chris Caddell taking advantage of down time from Big Wreck to play with Colin again. 😊 In an interview with Joel Martin Mastery podcast Chris says Ian Thornley has "cleaned up" Chris' playing a lot.
Awesome!!!!! Another Canadian Gift!!! He sounds just as good as he did back in the day. 💞💞💞💞💞💞
I was sitting behind the guy with the phone great show over 2 hours 4 cans of beer 74$ Colin is at the top of his game .
Great Show at OLG Stage. I was up on the Balcony
Decent tribute band.
The best
Yup. 👍😂
Who are these men of lust greed and glory they do a pretty good job
Thank you from Paris ❤ ❤❤
You’re welcome from Toronto 😜
I wish I Came
Absolutely love this song - always have.
I will love you always! You are fantastic.
Closing song for Bethel NY ( The original Woodstock festival). They were great!!!!!
There's better footage Bethel NY 9 1 23 ( that's how it's listed)
Grew up on Supertramp 70’s were my teenage years
Excellent version, wonderful. My absolute admiration.
This is not Supertramp, it's a band covering (and pretty badly) one of their songs. There isn't one member from any of the original line ups actually playing here. Nice clickbait title though.
Learn to recognize your own ignorance. At no point did this say it was Supertramp. Classic Albums Live (notice each word is capitalized like a proper name) is a group that dissects classic albums then performs the album note for note, cut for cut, for the 1st half of the show. The 2nd half is other tunes from the same band. Now go be a hater somewhere else. Your ignorance is just embarrassing.
I think they are absolutely fabulous I’m guessing there not in the U.K. ?
@@stevenbell7501 They started in Toronto and now have shows in several cities in Canada & the US, but don’t believe they’ve made it across the pond yet.
Obviously 🙄. You need to be moron to have thought otherwise .😮
Not really. The band is called Classic Albums Live, and that's exactly what is in the title. Chill out.
weak as hell in every facet
They have Breakfast in America coming to Melbourne FL in 9 days, love Roger Hodgson and Supertramp, don't know if anyone can "do" Roger's voice? He's incredible!
Go check them out. The singers are both incredible and sound extremely similar to the original. It’s one of the things CAL does very well - finding singers to emulate the original voices.
Rodger Hodgsons the man ❤❤❤👌🏴
These guys are totally amazing absolutely love this band thank you so very much for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed the video. I’m going to see them do Prince’s Purple Rain on Friday at Massey Hall so I expect to upload another vid from that show soon after.
💪💪
Bands not too bad, but the singer just is not up to the task. His voice was great in Slik, probably still would be, but zep is too much for him, the tone is too thin.
I’m sure the iphone audio doesn’t do them justice. You should see CAL in person if you get the chance. Saw another show tonight for Dark Side of the Moon. ‘Money’ to be posted shortly.
There is another Canadian group that covers Zeppelin. They're from Montreal and are called Tangerine. They've recorded a dozen YT videos and done a couple of local gigs. Their musicians are probably a bit better but their singer is fantastically good. I mean more than twice as good. Unfortunately, although they say they're still on the case they've been very quiet for the last year.
extra
Not the same as the old day version JS :(
better !!!!!!!! live
35 years later?? how do you sound luk? this has more gain and sounds fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can only get three right now (maybe 4). Which ones would you recommend?
Assuming you’re referring to the Star Wars Storeyteller ornaments, they all interact with each other depending on which ones you have. When they’re connected together with the power cord (sold separately) they detect each other so they know whose on the line so to speak. They’re all the same cost so I’d say start with your favourites. The Death Star tree topper is pretty expensive - about the cost of 3-4 ornaments. Keep an eye out for after Christmas sales where you can probably get some good deals for use next year. I have another video on my channel of all the Star Wars ornaments running through the entire sequence- about 12 min.
@@velcroboy i have the tree topper. But would like to get 3 ornaments. I'm definitely getting r2d2 as they have extensive lines.
Agreed.
politics aside? Roger has always been very political and has never been shy about it
Just meant whether someone agrees with his politics or not, the show was amazing
@@velcroboy he always puts on a great show. the video and lasers and light show are all very modern and high tech, but for me the core of any concert is the sound, and he always has great players with him and an amazingly awesome sound system. I cannot get over how great his shows sound in person, unlike some other artists who cannot recreate the polished studio sound in a live setting
