The Peninsula | Now Open in Downtown Columbus
At the convergence of Downtown’s central business district and the historic Franklinton neighborhood, The Peninsula brings together the best of all worlds - just around the bend of the Scioto River.
Already on its way to becoming a lush, urban oasis, The Peninsula will have something for everyone: miles of waterfront views and pathways, acres and acres of parks and community greenspaces, conveniently connected bike trails, easy access to Scioto River canoeing and kayaking, and close to Downtown’s most popular places, happenings, and events, and steps away from Franklinton’s arts scene.
After the successful opening of Phase I, which includes 230,000 square feet of premier Class A office, 330 top-of-the-line residential units, and a 198-key, world-class boutique hotel, the time is right to move forward with Phase II. The Peninsula’s second phase will deliver:
150,000 sf of new Class A office space
A minimum of 300 new residential units, featuring a 20-story tower
A 120-key hotel
A 40,000-square-foot Pins Mechanical Co.
A signature grocery store
A 400-space City-owned parking garage

This is gross ignorance by property developers who have no idea what a city is. Par for undemocratic Columbus.

There will be affordable units included in the development with 10% of apartments reserved for those making no more than 100% of the area’s median household income (AMI) and another 10% for those making no more than 80% of AMI.

Great to see this awesome project finally break ground. I'd love to see videos of the construction like this every week. It's great to see progress being made! Can't wait to start seeing the 8 and 11 story buildings rise up over the trees while passing on the highway.

Of course Columbus Underground would think it’s a very impressive video. 🙄 With “new to the neighborhood balconies” 😂 and fake crowd noises what’s not to like? Oh, just the boring design and the fact the city and state designated it an Opportunity Zone so real estate developers will get a tax subsidy.

I gave up everything necessary to leave. The people who run it are very good at plastering a pleasant picture over a decaying, crime-riddled mess. Drive ten minutes west of there, and you'll be in the slums.

So amazing! It is amazing to see how Columbus is changing! Now that we have the Scioto Mile, I wonder what will come next, since Columbus is the 15th largest city in the United States, in fact, it is bigger than Washington DC (not in the metropolitan area).

I spent a while hanging Christmas lights on the east shore of the river. Yeah, it's a pretty area, if you can ignore the occasional insane hobo wandering around begging. Because nobody in charge will do anything about them.
