Watched the whole video, and it was done poorly. The TSD acronym (Tell/show/do) is always needed when testing or exercise movements are being put into practice. I could go on but suggest doing another video after doing more homework.
Mute the original audio, and do back audio for people to hear what is being said.
I didn't see any explanation of the scoring, as indicated in the description. I understand you can score 3, 2, or 1 (or even 0) but there's no explanation of how to score.
look up "FMS Scoring Critera" . Any pain while performing the activities deems it a 0!
sorry but lots of visible variances from symmetry if you say she had none then that is a huge concern - - initial overhead squat had a huge right leg instability / push from floor had hollowing and kyphotic posture ? this is an amazing tool but not when used like this - unfortunately most trainers you see get through this as quick as possible and don't rely take a proper look - i can see at least 9 visual queues here to address not to mention the upper cross syndrome, lordosis. pronation of the left ankle and right knee adduction issues
Thanks..helping homework:)
“for corrective exercises we will focus on any asymetries.... and any “one’s.” Could you explain what “ones” are? Thank you.
scoring is assessed as either 3,2 or 1, 1 being the lowest score. therefore focus for corrective actions will be on underlying causes of any 1(low) scores where there may have been imbalances or asymetries identified.
That's correct and also, if the person experiences any pain in any of the exercises it's assigned a 0. In that case it's best to contact a medical professionist to assess the problem
I dont know what I have but man lifting my leg up while sitting hurts my lower knee really bad.
Where can I buy in the U K.
Hey. Your vid was informative! I've been trying to research for a instructional video similar to yours that breaks down everything in this UA-cam video! 🧑🏻⚕️Your vid for sure is similar to the content from Doctor Ethan. Thanks a lot for making this video! I have been doing these exercises daily and icing my knees after running for the past 5 weeks and have noticed a considerable difference in how my knees feel!
How is it now.
i trained for years to go at trials but this pain made me fail and i cant reach my dream yet 😢😭
same
I have this disease 4months ago in both knees and it gives me so much pain. I stretch and do strengthening exercises everyday and it not hurts anymore when I play sports although the bump is till there. My tips is use a supporter o patella strap when playing, be consistent in exercises and Ice is the key! Godbless everyone :)
Este negro se la re culio
I do softball and competitive cheer and I have had this for 4 years and I bumps the bump at school and literally like die
lol I know people on their 40s and they have this.
I got this 2 moths ago & im barely finding out what it is. Im 22 & i'll keep up to date how my progress goes for those new viewers. Ive laid off any activity for 1 week. It was pretty bad a week ago before I stopped. I've been rolling for the pasts week.
I'm going to start stretching my things/quads 3 times a day. 2/10
2/19. Pain still exists, although I have been running. If I were to cut down on running I would probably feel much better. Stretching out the quads has helped a lottttt. Significant progress even w/ exercising.
Thank you 💙 this helped me soo much I have this problem so it really helps me
I've had this disease since I was like nine or ten. It sucks having it, thanks for the advice.
I'm going to physical therapy for this and it really helps
Good video i have this problem under my knee but i was waiting for u to start showing me the stretches,ur intro is way to long, just start the video
I'm 12 and I have osgood schlatters disease in my knees, I can't even bend down the whole way
Well, I am 20 and this starts troubling me after about an hour of intensive running (playing football). And on the next day I feel like I have sustained a quite serious injury. I have tried different exercises and if I haven't fully recovered, it hurts to do exercises with squatting, but i don't really feel anything doing exercises without squats ( besides quad stretch). So Is it worth to do squats in this situation (pain = gain) or I should focus on other exercises even though I don't feel any effect from them on my bumps?
I m 20 and have this since I ve been 15 from athletics, i m finished growing so I was wondering why I still can t run as much as I want ? After about 3k of running the pain is back
This disease made a sub 36:00min 10,000m track runner into a gosh darn cyclist! 😡 I hate cycling. I'm not sure what is more painful, running or not running, I miss it so much! I'm 17, so I've got a lot of cross training until I can run again (pain free). Id give almost anything to run again! Also, what terrible timing this is - it's my last year of high school, and my university doesn't have a track team or men's XC 😖 fml.
I've had this since as far back as I can remember I remember my mother carrying me to see the doctor for this when I was around 7 or 8 I remember the doctor saying if I didn't get it taken care of I would have to get my legs amputated I'm now 53 and it only hurt when the Tibia bone is hit the pain is unbearable wish there was a fix I believe my growing is over at age 53.
Sometimes it hurts really bad for me but sometimes I don't even notice it is this normal
its been like 6/7 years that i am suffering from osgood schlatter on both of my knees but i feel pain(sometimes) only on my left knee.....also the bump on my left knee is a bit more pointed than my right knee. Is this normal? And does this mean that the growth plate on my right knee is fused but not on my left knee? pls reply..........
I have this disease I went to a physio and told me what I should do. You have to mainly focus on your thighs. One of them is you lie down somewhere on your back , and lift up you're right or left leg up or down. Don't lift both legs up at the same time one at a time. So so left leg up first which way you want to do it. And when you lift the leg make sure it doesn't touch the floor cos you're not really exercising.
I've got this pain below my knee cap and idk if it is OSD but I've got it during volleyball and I'm 13 , and how long does it last and how long do u leave tape on , days or hours?
to be completely honest there is not a quick fix to this. The pain and inflammation will start to lesson as you continue to get older. Keep icing it and doing the exercises and you may help with the process. biggest thing is you are going to have to learn how much pain you can still do something with and fight through that.
Karate coach from Russia. I don't agree with you. The ice is self-deception. not sore, but not cure. Injury becomes greater. Better make a compress of Equisétum arvénse. It is an ancient method. Find the reason why the disease. Most likely a weak blood flow and proper nutrition. Check the lymph nodes. Maybe a little injury in my thigh. Briefly go through a complete examination and then the treatment is easier to pick up. If you have a good therapist, better Chinese, he will be cured in 2 months.
I'm kinda getting into professional badminton and this really sucks having it on my knee. It restricts a lot of movement. Is there anything other than icing I can do for instant relief during play if the pain triggers all of a sudden. Because karma chooses a really auspicious moment and my knee start killing me right during the middle of a match during tournaments. It's annoying af
Anjali unfortunately there is not anything that will give instant release. what you have to try to do is get ahead of it by treating it beforehand. That includes icing, stretching and doing the exercise prescribed in this post. The pain after a while will be mental because you have a better understanding of what is going on.
Thank you. :)
+Anjali Dilish were you in varsity in high school?
Phantoms Edge I still am in high school but yeah I do represent my school and my state :)
I cant do the last leg workout, Where you stand up because when i do IT My kneecap really starta hurting. Any suggestions?
Lucas, for now concentrate on performing the exercises that you can do. Incorporate the last exercise over time. Only complete reps that do not hurt. You will eventually get stronger and the pain will get less.
The thing that sucks is that it doesnt go away until your growth plate solidifies and you're done growing
Frosty Ace ACTUALLY!!!??!
Frosty Ace you've got to be kidding me GODDAMIT ;-;-;-;
Moons Child hey, I'm just happy that it goes away. Thank God I don't have his for the rest of my left... hopefully
what if I reached my height?! will it never go away? I have had it for a couple years now I am turning 21 soon and sometimes the pain is excruciating and sad to see not much for relief :(
I've had this disease for years and it's really killing me
I feel you. I have it on both knees for about a year now but it's getting better I guess😰
+Phantoms Edge no not really 😢
Trent Watson yea i have had this thing in almost 2 years now and i am starting to get pissed
I have in both knees already about a year and it hurts like hell
i had experience with osgood try non non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, i used ibuprofen 800 mg-1 g a day for a week + rest and it completely went away i really hope this helps because i know how frustrating it is, and stretching hamstring and quads also kind of helped.
I'm really good at football, I play middle line backer and this involves a lot of footwork and cuts and stuff which is terrible on my knees, I need to find a way that let's me play as I used to, I still play football currently because I love it to much and there's no way I'm sitting out, and since this is called a disease and there, from what I know, is no way to fix it its basically a disease with no cure right? Like cancer.. I really love football and I am known as a good player, I am twelve and I currently get scouted by high school and college coaches and I need to show them the real me not the dieseased me what can be done? :(
I'm having the same problem right now 😢 I'm a super active kid and I love gymnastics and pretty much everything but I just got diagnosed with it and my knees are killing me just to go up the stairs. I tried the stretches my doctor gave me and it made it worse. I need help!!! Someone please help. I've had week ankles since I was a kid and I haven't been able to do ANYTHING because of them and they were just getting better and now this 😥😥😥😥
I don't know weather u r talking abt American football or the real one but yea same problem with me and I can't play football for 1 year
He is talking about American football. Middle line backer is a position in defence squad.
does it work for any1?
Yes it does. Please realize that these exercises will not eliminate the pain completely. It takes time for your body to grow out of this stage. The exercises are intended to better allow you to keep moving through this time.
sfxsports00 i need to get rid of it asap cuz i want to join military :/
+Ninja Of The Darkness it shouldn't stop you from joining the military. They know about the condition and know that it isn't permanent.
sfxsports00 great to hear that! And thx for info! :)
I have had this for around 4 months now and it has really been bothering me, recently I have been chosen to play in a few high level soccer teams (districts, etc) , I have been playing through the pain since it started with paracetamol and deep freeze spray. This would be a really bad time around my soccer career to have a rest for 4 weeks? Can somebody please tell me how to stop the pain because I don't want to rest. I am playing soccer mostly everyday as I'm playing for around 5 teams atm! But please how do I get the pain to go down atleast a tiny bit! :((
Timmy, as I say in the video. The pain will get less and less in time. Right now you need to do the exercises and make sure that you ice it often. You will have to deal with some pain for a while.
+sfxsports00 I've been resting for a month and it got better , I just hope it heals in time before cross country try outs
The pain is caused by your patellar tendon pullin on your growth plate it's attached to, the growth plate is soft causing the tendon to be able to pull on it and start inflaming the growth plate, in serious cases in the tendon can cause the growth plate to break under it and cause a broken growth plate, strengthening muscles does not Help, I've tried it, the only way for this to go away is to vigorously rest for a period of time. I have been resting for about 3 weeks as of now. I have been playing soccer 1 time a week just to practice. The pain has now gone down a little and it doesn't hurt as bad .... JUST REST IT HELPS
Hah, 3 weeks? I've been resting for over a 2 months and that hasn't helped one bit. I've compromised a lot for badminton and this seems like a really amazing fruit for it. Rest is definitely a good remedy but I've seen it gives only temporary relief. If what you're saying is true, I believe you stopped growing or something like that.
I dream to be a big professional footballer. But I am suffering this. Now I think my dream die. I am so upset now!
Hong Jack Same, its the most frustrating thing I have ever experienced
i am not braging but i really am good at football this thing really as changed my performance i no longer play as good anymore i really feel pissed off but i never stop playin football though a really suck at it know i feel horrible when i see other 16 year olds guys my age playin football much better plz keep me in your prayer plzzz
red maddox i know the feels. I started skating when i was 8 and wanted to turn pro at 13 but this shit disease fucked me up.
I've had this since I was 10 and it's always in bits and does anyone else's get sore in the cold like outside or sum
I've had this since I was 10 and it's always in bits and does anyone else's get sore in the cold like outside or sum
Hi,I also suffer from osgood-schlatter disease,I made very simple video to show you what to do and what to avoid if you suffer too,you can check the video on my channel
Why do you focus on strengthening the quad here to alleviate pain?
From what I've read and heard, the bump right under your knee cap is attached to a tendon which runs up and attached to your quads. You can actually feel this tendon between your knee cap and the bump on your upper shin. So when you flex your quad like you do when squatting, the tendon is pulling on the bump. The reason why people experience pain is that their quads aren't stretched enough which causes the tendon to be stretched more, putting more pressure on the bump.
I've had this disease since probably last year ( I used to do taekwondo, I think it developed from that) I am also 13, lately I've found its been hurting real bad lately so my mum got me a knee brace and I don't think it's doing anything and I'm thinking about playing soccer next season god this sucks To finish of this comment why the hell are we the unlucky ones!!!😂
Mine started from soccer and my doctor said keep braces off so it doesn't restrict it. I can't really bend it properly and idly had it since 2 months ago when I was skateboarding. It gradually gets better but then I do something else to it. Today was the best I done in soccer without pain! Hopefully it gets better 😀
+Abbie Skyner thank you for your help and well done in soccer😎
+Kimberley Peel thx hope yours gets better
This disease absolutely sucks I agree, restricts me a lot, too, but don't ever say why are we the lucky ones. When you succeed in life, do you ask why me? Just putting it across ((:
Unlucky*
I can't do the one leg squat, I felt so pain! :S 29 years old
5:12 stretches start
I've had this knee pain for a long time and I'm short as heck. I'm only 5'1 age 14/5
I had this bump under my left knee for a while, I couldn't even remember how did it started but I'm pretty sure its because I have been playing alot of sports especially basketball since highschool (2012 grade 8 14 yrs old, grade 11 turning 17 this year). I'm 5'3 where i used to be around 4+ to 5 foot. Last year back in 2014 I can only feel a minor sore then this year I'm starting to feel the soreness (not worst) at the age of 16 but I can still normally jump around or play basketball today, but at this moment I'm just trying to avoid it as a precaution.
I am 30 and have been dealing with Osgood Schlatter's Disease since I was in 6th grade. I'm actually in alot of pain right now. It flares up when I am working out hard. Best advice is to get a Cho Pat strap brace and warm up very well. Ice your knees often!
This video was really helpful!
