    Holy shit!! I just got a X5 DH3 few weeks ago, have not shoot it yet and watching this I dont know now if I want to!! thanks God you did not got injured. Seems like a double charged round if that is possible on a 9mm or at least overcharged; did the ammo company paid for the handgun?

    • @therightgun
      @therightgun 3 години тому

      Yep. Both sig and freedom agreed it was the ammo. If you listen to Sig haters it was Sig covering up another issue with the 320… regardless fm paid for my loss. Personally I am not buying another 320. Not hating, just saying. Thank you for watching and commenting!

      Nope. These were new. FM does have reman available but I wasn’t using those. I have bought reman from them in the past and didn’t have any issues.

    By having polymer or striker fired gun , you are cutting corners , go back to basics and get a metal hammer fired pistols .. Accident may still happen , but you are more safer ....

    Great Review Keep up the great work! If you could only carry oje which would it be? I am looking to purchase one and have held the CR920- I have nit held the X. AlsoI have a large hand?

    • @therightgun
      @therightgun 11 годин тому

      Glock 43X is what I would choose. Honestly. For what you get I don’t think the price tag is worth it. I was taken in by the SS look but the performance is on par with 43X. I will say I have the CR920p and bought a regular barrel do I don’t have to carry comp. If you have a chance to shoot them do that too. I think the SS CR920 is snappier than the 43X. Just my opinion. Oh. Just remembered to add… I had major reliability issues with the 920X, go rid of it. See some of my other videos.

    I am curious, What weight of ammo where you using/normally use with that pistol? How many shots of what kind of ammo had been fired through the pistol before this? It looks like you were using the 12 pound spring. When I use 115gr P factory ammo with the 12 pound spring, I notice that the recoil of the slide seems to be a lot harder on the takedown leveler, which is right where the frame failed for you. Edit: I normally use the 14 pound recoil spring, and have had zero issues shooting 115gr. It does shoot softer/flatter with the 124-135 gr ammo with the 14 pound spring comparatively. When was the last time it was cleaned and lubed, how often did you do it? Also this reputable ammo source, so you bought factory from the store or did you buy some from a buddy? My apologies if these were answered in the video. I am not trying to say you are at fault in anyway, I am just genuinely curious. Regardless of any of the variables I noted above, it still should not have done that. The way that sig support treated you seems pretty dirty to me. I am glad you weren't hurt, as those failures can be pretty bad!

      @@therightgun Man, thats really rough! i'm Genuinely sorry that happened. I've been doing some testing with mine and I've noticed that if I do a press check, occasionally I think the barrel edges in the chamber can indent on the casing of the round. Gun being new might have had an issue like that with the barrel, as the tolerances are much tighter when its brand new. That is the only other thing I can think of other than what Sig found with your round being overcharged. Imagine a small dent on the casing on an overcharged round. That being said you should totally be able to do a press check without that happening right lol? Again bro, I am glad you still have all your fingers! btw at 16:33, yeah that missing bit on the right part of the slide support of the frame is supposed to be like that. As for what it is for, only thing I can think of is either a break away point for safety in case like yours, or a lubrication trap or something.

    9mm is cheap is main reason everyone loves it. And 9mm bullet technology has improved but so has .40.. I own several 9mm pistols and.40 I carry a .40 for work and carry a 9 and.40 off work. As a trained shooter the recoil to me is not that much different than a +p 9mm. Both are effective. Training is the key. But for a young new shooter I go to 22L get them accurate and no flinching then move up to whatever. Endless debate but bottom line is your only as good as what your comfortable with and accurate with. Good video

  • @SteveHcutabovehost

    I was shot by a 380 but it didn't knock me down and I was able to keep going. That let me know that you definitely want something bigger for a round if you want something to take someone down. The 9mm does hold more rounds, and that is good, but still you want that knock down power.

    I think it would've been more interesting, or at least more numerically satisfying if the whole 38/44 dichotomy from revolvers carried over to autoloaders. But only if they were made to be true .38 and .44 caliber projectiles, respectively, since "38" meant a .357 caliber projectile for revolvers. As long as case lengths were 22-23mm for the 38 and 24-26mm for the 44, with a standard case thickness like 460 Rowland, there would never have to be another middle ground between those made, nor any shortenings or lengthenings for more or less power. Anything smaller would be reserved for SNS-type pistols, though there still might've been a necked-down wild cat (38 to 32 and 44 to 38, respectively) for either so the velocity lovers could have their cake and eat it, too. Guess that's my 'tism rant for the day, seeya. Gonna go buy a 40, now.

    I also was not a fan of the stopbox when I tried it, but you are opening it wrong. The manufacturers instructions are you have to keep the rubber feet on the bottom on a flat clean surface and press down on the mechanism. You can get it one hand on a table everytime. Coming at an angle with it moving around is impossible. The plastics aren’t great.

    Well it would make sense that the slide stop was out of spec where the follower would trip it or the mag itself prematurely and too stiff of a recoil spring assembly could cause a lighter slide to not cycle correctly and inducing stove pipes and or not allowing the extractor to pull the fired casing out of the chamber so it hits the ejector before the slide returns to battery. Thank you for the follow up video.

    Glad you didnt lose a finger or an eye. I think I would start reloading, just so I could control how hot my target rounds are. If you shoot alot of pistol rounds you can dial them down pretty far which takes any kind of kaboom out of the equation. Of course you can still shoot hollow points and carry +p+ personal defense ammo. The only other thing I thought of...could the 7th round have been a squib with the bullet sticking in the barrel? Im sure your aware that Sig and Freedom have both had some issues, so maybe it was just your day? Glad you are ok.
