Приєднався 7 сер 2021
Welcome to the new Bay Area Dirt Biking channel. My name is Jose, and in this channel I will be providing you with a library of videos and tips for some of the most popular dirt biking trails around the Bay Area. Hopefully these videos will give you a good idea of what a trail is going to be like before you ride it for the 1st time, and help you stay out of trouble.
Foresthill OHV Loop 3,3-6, Shredding on an Ultra Bee and a KTM 450
This video shows you a very flowy, fast, and fun loop trail on the southwest corner of the park suitable for most riders. I am following my friend Scott riding a KTM 450 EXC with my Ultra Bee electric dirt bike. Enjoy the video!

Ballinger Canyon OHV Enchanting Hidden Singletrack Trail
Переглядів 5633 місяці тому
This video shows you a very cool singletrack trail that you won’t find in the official trail map of Ballinger Canyon OHV which connects Trail 24 to the southeast rim of the park. The trailhead on it’s north end starts just passed the junction of Trails 24 and 40, look for a water tank on your left and follow the trail to the right. The trail has some very cool views of the typical eroded geogra...
Ballinger Canyon OHV Whoopy Trail 29
Переглядів 1 тис.6 місяців тому
Trail 29 is one of several iconic trails at Ballinger Canyon OHV due to its spectacular views of the south end of the park! This trail is the longest single-track trail in the park, about 5 miles long, and it is rated black diamond due to its many narrow whoopy sections near steep drops, so you should only ride it if you are an experienced rider. There is a segment between trails 37 and 41 with...
Surron Ultra Bee chasing a KTM 890R at Ballinger Canyon Trail 29
Переглядів 5136 місяців тому
I met Brett at a Starbucks on my way to Ballinger Canyon OHV and he surprised me by showing up to the park later that morning on his KTM 890R adventure bike. I was very impressed by how he managed to keep up with me through all the single track trails I rode, including Trail 29, which I will be posting a video soon. This video shows the west end of Trail 29 which consist of a fun narrow flowy t...
Georgetown OHV Trail 1 Flowy Segment
Переглядів 6717 місяців тому
In this video I will show you a fun flowy single track trail located on the southwest corner of Georgetown OHV. This trail is part of Trail 1, and it starts at the southern trailhead of Trail 2. The trail is equally fun to ride southbound or northbound, and I typically ride it both ways. Enjoy it! #skydio, #skydio2, #BayAreaDirtBiking, #dirtbiking, #surronultrabee, #ultrabee Music: Your Dangero...
Ballinger Canyon OHV Southeast Rim Trail
Переглядів 848Рік тому
In this video we will tour a very scenic and fun to ride unmarked single track trail along the southeast rim of Ballinger Canyon OHV. The trailhead on its west end starts close to the intersection of trails 40 and 30, and on the east end, the trailhead starts by the intersection of trails 25 and 28. This trail is worth riding in both directions just for its scenic views. Although the trail is n...
Ballinger Canyon OHV Trail 23, The Climb

Ballinger Canyon OHV Area is located just south of Maricopa, and it has about 68 miles of marked and rated trails on public land. The terrain ranges from hard packed 4x4 roads, twisty sand washes, rugged and steep black diamond hill climbs, and narrow single track for dirt bikes. Trail 23 is located on the Northeast end of the park and it consist of a 4-mile single track trail along the ridge o...
Dirt Biking with Skydio
Переглядів 353Рік тому
In this video I share some of my personal experiences using Skydio for autonomous filming of dirt biking. I will cover some of the reasons I think at this time this drone is in a league of its own for autonomous filming of dirt biking as well as some of its limitations. Tips for riding Pine Mountain Trail 8 at Pozo
Переглядів 2,5 тис.2 роки тому
Pine Mountain is another must ride dirt biking trail at Pozo/La Panza OHV. This trail is 7 miles long and you will be climbing to a maximum elevation of 3600ft. This first portion of the trail starting from the east side is a dirt road. The remaining portion of the trail to the Stepstairs section is technical and best suited for advanced riders, especially the descend portion on the west side o...
Riding Queen Bee Trail 9 at Pozo
Переглядів 4102 роки тому
Queen Bee is another popular dirt biking blue trail at Pozo/La Panza OHV. This trail is comparable to the middle section of Burnout where you will be riding along ridge tops at around 2500ft elevations, but it is a narrower trail and only 1.5 miles long. Enjoy it! #skydio #skydio2 #BayAreaDirtBiking #dirtbiking Trail footage starts at 01:06 Music: Ambient and Moment of Inspiration by MagaMusic,...
Riding Burnout Trail 10 at Pozo
Переглядів 2,1 тис.2 роки тому
Burnout is one of the most popular dirt biking trails at Pozo/La Panza OHV since it is the gateway to some of the other fun trails at the park, especially if you parked by Navajo Flat. This trail is well suited for both intermediate and advance riders, it is almost 7 miles long, scenic in nature, and very thrilling to ride This video combines GoPro and Skydio video footage synchronized to music...
Dirty Biking at Frank Raines OHV Park
Переглядів 5 тис.2 роки тому
Frank Raines OHV Park is located west of Paterson. Most of the trails in the park consist of climbing moderate to difficult hills, for this reason this park is more suitable for advanced riders. This video presents an overview of the park and all the marked trails open at the time of the production of this video, including DJI and Skydio drone footage of the trails. #skydio #skydio2 #BayAreaDir...
Riding Las Chiches Trail 5 at Pozo/La Panza OHV (Eastbound)
Переглядів 9882 роки тому
This video covers Las Chiches, Trail 5 at Pozo/Las Panzas OHV Area in the eastbound direction. Although the trail is labelled as a blue trail, in my opinion it is best suited for experienced riders comfortable with riding moderately technical steep hills. Watch the video and decide for yourself. #bayareadirtbiking #skydio #skydio2 #gopro #trailriding #dirtbike Other Pozo Videos available at ua-...
Dirt Biking at Pozo/La Panza OHV Area
Переглядів 3,3 тис.2 роки тому
This video presents an overview of dirt biking at Pozo/Las Panza OHV Area from a Bay Area dirt biker’s perspective. This park is very similar to the southwest section of Hollister Hills SVRA, but the area is much larger, and the trails tend to be straighter since they were carved on the ridge of mountains. The views on many of the trails are spectacular and this park is definitely worth the dri...
Hollister Hills Peat's Path and Jay's Way Loop on a single Skydio battery
Переглядів 2,2 тис.2 роки тому
This video covers Peat's Path and Jay's Way trails at Hollister Hills SVRA. Two black diamond trails that can be ridden back to back to make a loop out of them. Challenge yourself by keeping track of your time and trying to break your record. To make this video I challenged myself by trying to complete the loop while having my Skydio drone follow me using one battery. I typically try to keep my...

Thanks for making this video!
Your videos are well done and full of great information. Thanks!
city slickers please stay away and mountain bikers move out of the way.
Saw you on Trail 2 Foresthill last Thursday. It was you on the electric bike wasn't it? ua-cam.com/video/yjnsdCG6erM/v-deo.htmlsi=1x573BzBaJzJmRhM&t=1431
I took your advice and road Panza it was an awesome ride. I followed your directions from your video.
Glad to hear. I need to go back there myself, it's been a couple of years now.
That 890 is a lot of bike to ride there 😅
I was very impressed myself, he rode all of Trail 29 with me. ua-cam.com/video/YTWC76f3jLM/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
I like how you enjoy your ride and that’s what riding all about and I like your videos it makes me want to go ride 🤙🏻
Appreciate the feedback! 👍
I was just on 3-6 about 2 weeks ago, that section of 3 is super nice to ride, wish the trail was a little longer but still a cool little loop nonetheless the less 👌
Combined with 3-3 it is a good length ride, flowy and suitable for fast riding. Stay tuned for more Foresthill videos.
how difficult is harmony gate itself, if you want to loop back to rancho?
It is a climb with some whoopy sections which is why it is better suited for an intermediate rider. Watch this video and decide for yourself. ua-cam.com/video/HuZJEyJj_bc/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
@@bayareadirtbiking249 thanks! Doesn't look too bad, but of course it's hard to tell how deep the sand is from the video. I'm on a bmw GS, so I'm always worried about sand :D
@@stanishate Have you ridden Rancho all the way to the Junction with High Rd.? You should be comfortable riding that 1st. Also, consider getting a dirt bike and getting proficient with it before trying to ride a GS on dirt biking trails. After the 1st time I dropped my GS at a steep trail at Carnegie, I decided to get a dirt bike for dirt riding, no regrets.
Sweet trail. I grew up in the Bay Area(east bay)Ballinger is SoCA i believe so i never got to ride there.Looks like a great place to ride. Thanks for the great video.
Awesome
Sweet but I miss the Braaap already.
I get it for the purpose of watching the video, although as a rider I like not having to hear the sound of a gas engine, and I would even like it better if my bike would not make any sound out all, i.e., quiet as a mountain bike.
Thank you for a great look at these parks, I hope to get out there soon!
Pozo is a fraction of what it used to be before the USFS designated most of it as wilderness. I rode the Hi Mountain Enduro there is the 80s, and it once hosted a national enduro. The event was sponsored by the Cal Poly Penguins, a campus club from kids in the ag school. Tony Pavone
Those aren't really whoops by Jawbone or Dove standards, Ballinger is a better area than many people know. first rode there about 1970-71
Just rode ballinger for the first time today and it was difficult navigating without a properly labeled trail map. Where did you find the map at the start of the video? Will have to check out this rim trail
I was there yesterday, it is a great park to ride. My videos usually have a link on the description for the trail maps. I personally use OnXoffRoad for navigation. Here is the link:www.venturacountytrails.org/R...
Find trail 30 and ride it south, it dead ends at the south rim.
I’m always on the hunt for new places to ride my ultra bee. Never noticed Balinger canyon on the map until recently. Your videos were the first to come up and lo and behold what you’re riding. 👌🏻
There are many good single tracks not on the trail map good for the ultra bee. I am hoping to go back towards the end of next week for my next video. Stay tuned!
I watched your videos, decided to go check it out for myself. That place is awesome. It’s kind of like Hollister but a lot more advanced. Is definitely not for beginner riders intermediate and expert black diamonds definitely are a challenge. Recommend if you’re not an expert stay off of them.
God only knows how much I miss this place!! I would go every weekend in 2004-2007. Well not every weekend but most of them. I mee a lot of good people there over the years!! Good clean fun!
Bad ass video dude
Awesome video! 😍
Nice video, would love to do that trail this year. Where does one stage their bike to access the trails? Thanks.

Awesome thanks for that link👍
How's the Surron? I hear they're just a tad heavy.
that's the Storm Bee, this is the new Ultra Bee less than 200 lbs
I like it so much that I sold my Honda CRF250F. 200lbs vs 260lbs and you are always in the right gear.
@@bayareadirtbiking249 that's quite an endorsement for the Ultra Bee! I had a chance to sit on one, good fit at 5'11". I ridden the smaller Light Bee before, but feels a bit cramp.
Scary 😱
Did you create that KMZ? Or did you download it somewhere?
What is KMZ?
That’s a sick trail! Can’t wait to ride it with ya!
Very informational! Have you rode up in Oakhurst? Miami trails?
No I have not, Georgetown and Foresthill are closer to me, so that is where I mainly do forest riding.
I've ridden Pine Mountain several times many many years ago. As for the infamous stair step section, I can say that I've ridden down it once (walked my bike down a few times). Riding down the stair steps wasn't too difficult once you overcome the obstacles in your mind. In other words, its much more of a mental challenge than physical challenge. Great video. It brings back lots on memories.
Try the mile high trail. If its still there. Scared me every time.
First trail I rode as a beginner lmao super scary
Sweet. I miss Ca. Ride safe my 2 wheel friends.
Wow super sick place to ride. Where is it?

New to riding in the Bay Area - looking to ride with people as a group!
Another great video, thanks. What GPS screen are you using?
Thanks, I have a Tripltek 7 tablet mounted to my handlebars where I run the drone app and as well as OnX Offroad for navigation. I also carry a Garmin InReach mini as a satellite communicator, and it also tracks my ride.
Nice riding. Great videos! I've yet to make it to Hollister but your videos helps me gauge what to expect. The hardest trail I've done locally is Snake Trail at Metcalf... definitely slow going on that.
Thanks. I think that in general if you can ride the single tracks at Metcalf you should be able to ride most of the single tracks at Hollister.
New sub here. Very cool. It's been 30+ years since I've ridden in Ca. Ride safe my 2 wheel friends.
I'm from this area. Been down the stair steps, many times. I can say that I was present when I saw a pro enduro rider go up it!! Everyone present was blown away!!! I was told that it was Nathan Woods. Cant confirm that, but someone in SLO county can. There were a dozen or so riders that were there, and witnessed it.(R.I.P. Nathan)
Sweet riding area. I love those kind of trails. Ride safe my 2 wheel friends.
I went today and I did northern canyon is that a good trail?
All trails at Hollister are good trails. 😁
Nice! Excellent introduction. Seems very complete.
Thank you. With this winter rains some of these trail are not as nice anymore.
Those stair steps look daunting to ride down! Great look at the trail system out there!
Granite Rd used to turn into the most challenging hill climb on the central coast. It was called Mile Climb. They closed it because of erosion.
Thanks for the info. It is still shown in some maps and now I know why it is closed.
Thanks for great video! I grew up out there at Carnegie (lived in Tracy) and first bike was Honda 55 Cub Trail.... and then on to bigger bikes. The initials SRI of course stand for Stanford Research Institute and they did have (may still?) a research site way up at the end of the Kiln Canyon trail. Not sure it still goes through due to new boundaries and fences... But the 1st time I saw it was when riding off-trail and came upon a steel door'd bunker built into the hillside and research quonset huts nearby.... Was always concerned about some strange chemicals and so we didn't mess around there much... So, SRI site was up at end of Kiln Canyon, several miles maybe, almost to the ridge line.... Good exploring!!
Thanks for sharing this information, it explains the S.R.I. name!
Awesome vid! Love the great footage, you really get a feel for the park. Was deciding if I want to go here or not with my atv. Seems like it more dirt bike friendly like Carnegie than atv. I don't wanna drive 100 miles to be disappointed. So watching this vid helped select where I'm gonna ride this weekend. With a lot of places closed down still, looks like I'm going back to Knoxville. Hope to see more vids of places around the Bay Area. Subed!
The rains we had this year also did some damage to this park. I would not drive 100 miles to ATV there. I don't know where you are located but I recently visited Ballinger Canyon OHV and it has some amazing views, and the trails are in very good shape. Trails 24 and 40 would be great for riding an ATV, specially 40. Although this is a dirt biking trail, check out ua-cam.com/video/tiqlDohs0lI/v-deo.html.
@@bayareadirtbiking249 I'm in Marin county so definitely not going down there right now. Need to get to some so cal tracks. Wanna hit some of thsoe desert ohvs. Would love for you to do a review of Knoxville and Cow Mountain which are my home tracks!
Hey dude, thank you so much for this channel. Really a huge help for those of us looking to get back into it.
Great video ! Keep posting videos, these are very useful.
Great drone footage! I've never heard of this place before thanks so much for sharing and you are a great rider.
So basically riding in the bay area sucks…
First class video as always. Always enjoy these especially when Carnegie has been shutdown for so long.
Thanks for the informative video. I’m going to keep mine out of the trees. It works well in the desert though 👍
