Very useful video...thanks for sharing
Thank you, we're glad it was useful!
Great review. Thanks for sharing this vedio with us.
Glad it was helpful, thank you!
Allstate can go to hell!!! My cars engine blew up late June. I sold it for junk, and contacted Allstate to let them know I no longer owned that car and canceled the policy. I had a payment payment that would’ve been due on July 20 but the agent I spoke to said that policy was no longer good because I no longer owns the car. It’s now October. I just received a collection notice from Allstate. It stated on August 29 I owed $267 on August 29. How is that possible when the the car was sold in June and even if I stayed in their policy, it would’ve ended on July 20??? They won’t return calls and I can’t get any information over the phone. I wish there was a way I could sue them, but I will be contesting this collection, and will clear that collection. I would run as far as fast as I can from Allstate.
Very sorry to hear about this - thank you for sharing your experience. We hope you're able to resolve the issue as speedily as possible.
Seems like it's intrusive and a hassle to deal with, even with the discount. I think I'll try to save that money elsewhere.
Thanks for the info
Hi. Only my teenager is on the safe pilot program. How can I see his safe pilot account to see his driving history?
False info alert
231 is bs
You said You can go into the app and manually change it. It’s a bit of a hassle. Can you please explain how?
In the Drive Safe and Save app, navigate to the "Trips" tab at the bottom of the screen, find the trip you want to change, and tap the icon of a driver in the top right corner to reclassify your trip. You can find the explanation with screenshots in our full review as well: www.autoinsurance.com/companies/state-farm/drive-safe-and-save/ Hope this helps!
Gieco just refused my claim for an accident that involved their client (16 years old, received a ticket for not yielding) but will take care the damage to their car, where is the accountability, it's like our client can run into other cars and we will refuse the other parties claim but take care of our vehicle cause we know our driver was wrong....... or better yet, you had the green light but a yellow light trumps your green light.
I can see I'm joining many others with issues with The Hartford. My experience was more of the same. I chose them as an AARP member because I thought it would help. I was wrong. I set up my Home and Auto bills on Autopay until I realized they charged me $8 monthly to put it on my card. I tried to change to a bank account withdrawal with a cheaper fee and although my home payment worked, the auto didn't. I was cancelled for nonpayment. I called, explained the situation to an agent, gave her my bank account number and thought I was set. Apparently, even though they had my account number for my home plan they couldn't duplicate it on the auto. They cancelled me again and refused to reinstate me. I found a cheaper plan with no charges attached to my payments, so I guess they did me a favor. Nevertheless I question why AARP endorses this company and they should reconsider, especially after the reviews I've seen here and other websites. Seniors Beware!
What about using a second phone that doesn't have Bluetooth or the DS&S app connected? Most people actually do talk on their phones when traveling someplace.
I just installed it. The first three times I took my car out it told me that I was braking too hard and following too closely. There wasn't a single other car on the road either time! The third time it told me that I was accelerating too rapidly AND braking too hard. Nope. That is absolutely ridiculous. Neither is true. I even paid very special attention to both to ensure that I was not just to test and see if there was any possibility that I was braking too hard (for absolutely no reason saying that there were no other cars on the road at all the first two times 🙄). The fourth time it said the same exact thing. Braking too hard and accelerating too fast. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! Thinking that it could possibly have been affected because I left my cell phone with the app in my purse, the fifth time I mounted the phone to the dashboard holder. SAME THING. The sixth time I took the car out at 3:00 in the morning when there was absolutely nobody anywhere, used my turn signals, and went through my neighborhood at precisely 1-2 miles under the speed limit of 20 on the bigger streets connecting the cul-de-sacs together and normal people cul-de-sac speed on the cul-de-sacs (slow) the whole time, coming to a complete stop at each stop sign. AGAIN! I was following too closely and braking too hard! There wasn't anything TO follow too closely! The mosquitoes were even in for the night so it definitely wasn't them! It rated me 62% on braking and 63% on acceleration! All from driving through the cul-de-sacs in my immediate neighborhood! The State Farm app is a crock of crap designed to justify their ridiculous insurance rates. I own a 2019 Honda Civic that is fully paid off and I drive less than a thousand miles per year. They are effectively charging me $1.67 per mile for coverage. Because I am a senior citizen on disability, I wanted to try to reduce my rates as the cost is ludicrous. They are most likely going to try to increase them based on their erroneous findings. To fight back I have purchased front and rear dash cams to prove that there's not even anything there when they say that I'm "following too closely". I have absolutely no qualms about contacting somebody about class action against this gigantic corporation that uses such tools against people. They mandate that you allow them access to your location and phone at all times and in exchange what they do is blatantly lie about what your driving habits are. I should mention that I have also considered the possibility that I have a bad transponder. Being in my 60s, I have traveled in many people's vehicles and I know that I am an exceptionally safe driver. I haven't had an accident since 1986 when a drunk plowed through a red light and t-boned me. I haven't even had a parking ticket in all the years I've been alive! Yet suddenly and magically I'm accelerating too fast and braking too hard when there's nothing else on the road. What are YOUR thoughts?
Thank you for sharing your experience. If you haven't already, contact your agent with any concerns about Drive Safe & Save (they can also send you a new transponder). If you're dissatisfied, you can unenroll from the program at any time. You can also shop around for quotes if you're not satisfied with State Farm's rates. We hope this is helpful.
GEICO sucks Don’t help me I got accident I pay $200 a month full coverage no action 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Is general insurance is not a scam?
AllState is not cheap but have some good plans/offers that other auto ins. companies don't offer. One of the most expensive is Farmers Insurance Group if you like paying 3 to 4 times what you are paying now. USAA is a rip-off and not to be trusted (I'm a retired military veteran with just over 25 years of service. I keep on looking into changing, talk with USAA reps, and truth is feels like a scam). Progressive and Geico may start you with low rates but watch how much your premium rises when you have to renew the policy and/or if you have an accident. State Farm cost more than AllState. Heard AAA Insurance is decent but may run into problems. Your best alternative is an Independent Agency, often gets you a decent lower rate, however, every few years you'll be placed with another insurer. Need trust and confidence with an Independent Agent. There are Pros and Con using an Independent. Allstate New Car Replacement only get a new vehicle if less than 2 years old and the vehicle is deemed Totaled. Afterwards, 1 year newer with 20K miles less than your totaled car's odometer reading. Got a 2021 with 60K miles, you can be given a 2021 or 2022 of same make/model with 40K miles. New Car replacement is limited from 3 to 5 years. Chances of getting a Brand New Car is slim. It is a Short-Term Policy in case you have an accident within a few years after purchasing your brand new car which the Insurance Appraiser says it is a Total Loss. Cost is $35 to $80 per year depending on what you have as cheap car or expensive car. The rate can be higher for people who own $100,000 plus valued- MSRP vehicles. There is an option as you do not have to get the same kind of make/model vehicle. Allstate will give you what they would have paid (they search the U.S. for cheapest price) for a replacement car. And give you that amount so you can purchase what you want. If the Dealership nearby had a pickup truck used Chevy Silverado 2500 at $55K and in another state had one for $46K ... Allstate purchases the cheaper one and that is what you get. Or want something else, Allstate will not give you $55K but $46K instead. It is called paying the least they can even though you paid the fee for New Car Replacement. Hope you have Accident Forgiveness or no more than 1 accident in 3 years as if this is 2nd car totaled in less than 3 years. Allstate will pay you off and then cancel your auto policy.
I've had Geico for perhaps a decade now. They have increased my rates about $200 a year despite keeping a good driving record and reaching 50 years old. Not very happy about that
Thanks for sharing your experience - it's frustrating when rates increase with no change in driving record or other circumstances. If you're unhappy with how much you're paying, shopping around with few other providers can help you lower your bill.
@@AutoInsuranceExperts Can you name a few?
@@attila7092 It will depend on where you live, but State Farm, Progressive, and Travelers are good places to start. You can also work with a broker or independent agent who shops the market for you. You can check out our round-up of the best providers here: www.autoinsurance.com/best/
Do you have a State Farm office in San Benito Tx.❓️If so what is their ph. #❓️Thank you
Thought Allstate aut was ripping me off until I got a quote from progressive. Twice the cost as Allstate!! I'm paying 207 per month for two cars with Allstate. Progressive quoted me $400.
I own a body shop and we end up billing customers for some amounts that Farmers will not pay. We are in Colorado and normal body shop rates are are around $75 per hour. They tell us they will only pay up to $62 per hour so we end billing the vehicle owner the difference. This is not so with most other insurance companies that we work with. So I would ask what is the cap rate they will pay for your area and then check with your preferred shop to see if you will be covered. They probably have their own shops they will recommend, but the problem with that is that the shop is ruled by the insurance company if they want to continue to get referrals. Always best to pick a shop that is working for you, not the insurance company.
Excellent advice - thank you for taking the time to share! For those shopping around, CRASH Network publishes an annual list of the insurance companies that collision repair shops rate most highly rated on their claims practices: www.crashnetwork.com/irc/
Why do they charge renewal fees every six months? Im not happy with this company.

Warning ⚠️ liberty mutual 🗽 $16,448.00@year $1364, a month auto draft to elderly dad for over a year. For home insurance w. **10% deductible (omg). 2calls had him to $1307.00@ YEAR.with lower deductible. (With the mayhem dude) . A year for less then a month at LM 🗽. When I told Liberty mutual 🗽, we could see a reasonable mark up with market. But this is ridiculous and wrong boraderline illegal, possibly class actionable. If this is common place. Is there any way we could get some of this back. It cant actually be right... Liberty mutual 🗽 said (we charge based on what will make company money not the going market) 😮. In a cold callus manor. IMO this was a criminal mark up, taking advantage of elderly on auto bank draft. Be warned it's not the they are not the gucci of insurances, handing out gold plated bumper stickers. This was a money grab. If they did it to him. Imagine how many others, they probably did this too. 😢. Nothing Liberty about this. Also the way they list accidents in their system. They note whether it was a ,(at fault) in their *notes. Not marking it as no fault the way other companies do. So when other companies pull records over, by default there counted against you. Making getting reasonable quotes harder. This is a sneaky somewhat malicious way of making it harder to switch auto insurance. Luck would have it the last accident was with the mayhem dude 😎 insurance. And it was there fault. So .... They could see that. Please if you have elderly family check make sure there savings isn't being bleed for a CEO profit somewhere. Playing morally and ethical ignorant taking out 15×s the national or state high average. This tactic should be the source of a clas action lawsuit. (15k difference) He is old and thought because of the news about recent inflation, it was what everone is going through. And didn't want to complain or be a burden anyone. This is wrong. Shortly after switch We now getting more inline offers in mail for insurance from liberty mutual, 🤬lmfao really so they know. They just squeezed him dry. Now they offer lower in line price 😮 Sad when you have to have insurance, they can get away with this. He has **NEVER** made a home insurance claim EVER! PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THEM. DO NOT PUT THEM ON AUTO BANK WITHDRAWAL.
GEICO charged me $500 a month for car insurance and you call that affordable?
Allstate is terrible
really useful
Car Insurance is the scam 😂
Last 2 year State farm Insurance charge is less 100 But Past month he charge above 100$ why , i drive weely 15 /- Mile no moor Drive, plz reply me I'm 60 year
Thank you for your comment, and we're sorry to hear about the increase in your State Farm premium. Insurance rates can fluctuate for various reasons, even if your driving habits haven’t changed much. Some possible factors include changes in the overall cost of claims in your area, inflation, or adjustments to how insurance companies assess risk. Even being in a low-mileage category like yours, external factors can affect your rates. We recommend reaching out to your State Farm agent to ask for a breakdown of the rate change and to explore potential discounts, especially for low-mileage drivers or seniors. You could also compare quotes from other insurance providers to see if there's a better rate out there for you. We hope this helps.

Been driving around a month without cards in car. Don't have printer. Called multiple times, requested cards mailed when paid 6 month policy in full. Been going through this for years. Definitely checking on different company
This is the worst ever auto insurance company I have seen. Started from less, increased abruptly. The last month they charged more than all the Previous months For no reason and cancelled the policy in the middle of the PAID month, Started again for more amount ($175) to make it back to the already paid month. Long Story, making short, quit and changed the Insurance Company.
I was told when I got the device my rate wouldnt go up because of bad driving. It then went up $100. Im furious and they wont do anything about it.
Very hard to registered no one to help me though it it really stinks
I use Apple CarPlay constantly when I'm driving, which obviously utilizes Bluetooth and goes through my iPhone. Will this ding me with a constant phone distraction and if so, wouldn't that seriously affect my results in a negative way? Thanks.
That is a good question. Short answer: using CarPlay through Bluetooth shouldn't ding you. State Farm counts distracted driving if the phone screen is on, the phone is moving within the vehicle, and the vehicle is in motion (all at the same time). Using CarPlay typically doesn't light up your phone's screen, so it shouldn't count as distracted driving. State Farm also states that Drive Safe & Save doesn't interfere with using hands-free Bluetooth. More info here on all of this: www.statefarm.com/customer-care/faqs/drive-safe-save. Personally, we've been able to use CarPlay (via USB) without issue. All that said, it's always a good idea to ask your agent to confirm. Hope this helps!
Yes it does. Even if you change music on your car play screen it dings you as u using ur phone since car play is basically using ur phone its just mirrored on screen i changed music on screen and got ding.
Have you read the fine print indicating that it won't raise your premium, or is that what you were told? if you drive excessively fast (50+ over speed limit) and brake really hard and fail in every category, it assumes you are a normal driver and keeps your premium same??
As of now, State Farm reports that Drive Safe & Save will not add a surcharge to your policy, unless you have a low mileage discount and drive more than 7,500 miles annually. If you drive poorly, you'll receive no discount. However, that may change in the future (potentially varying by state), and State Farm could change its practices and raise your premiums for poor driving. We'll have to keep an eye out and see.
I'm on the drive save program. This is my record so far: Speed 99% Phone use 100% [that means almost perfect. But what happens, to get out of my community to the main road I have to take 5 curves that are inside the community. These have no dividing lines. People park their cars very close to the curves, and I have to avoid the wrongly parked cars. You know what happens, the beacon registers this as "fair cornering." I visit a community every week that has speed hubs. It's like almost 10 going and 10 coming back. The beacon registers them as "fair breaking," no matter how hard I've tried to brake as correctly as possible. Now the worst part. The program says I have acceleration problems. My car is automatic, and I wouldn't be so stupid as to damage my car's transmission and engine, or have an accident, by accelerating my car. I'm not a teenager, and I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere. I've read about others having these same problems. I've informed my agent, but he says not to worry about it. I've been with Geico, and their system doesn't have this problem. Also, you have to have the Bluetooth on all the time, whether you're driving or not, risking someone stealing your information or listening to your phone conversations when you're not in your car. Could someone here tell me why they don't fix these issues? What I'm doing wrong?
Stay away from aaa they take your money and refuse to help you even dodging your calls.

My bf and I got hit head on by a 23 year old race car driver who admitted he was texting while speeding to the officer on scene. Geico made it so hard to use any of the benefits. After months of fighting with them while being laid up, with no help, no medical coverage as we were both insured for, after fighting, after countless hours of paperwork and calls, we were still denied benefits with full cooperation from doctors. We went to about 30 appointments over 3 months just for paperwork for Geico. We were still denied most of our rightful help. The benefit that says you get medical help at $50 a day under Geico NYS no fault..... they only approved like $5 of some of the days. We got really no help with anything. We saw maybe 2 hundred bucks back after paying out thousands and turning in receipts. They even denied most of the medical coverage, including from the emergency visit. Now we have to sue for that money back. Do NOT use Geico ever! They are disgusting.
I just signed up for this. I was paying $140/month for my vehicle with another company. My wife bought a new car and the policy shot up to $425/month. I swapped to progressive with snapshot and the policy starts at just $170/month for both vehicles. The one that that worries me is the “late night driving.” I load the package cars that go out for delivery at UPS. Most of the year we start around 4:30AM so I’m leaving for work around 4AM. However, in November and December we generally start around 3:30AM so I’ll be leaving for work around 3AM, potentially checking that late night driving flag 5 or 6 days a week.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Glad you were able to save on the policy.
I m glad I have a big who has travelers insurance.. they charged my bank for money I DID NOT OWE !! We saved $1,300 on our rates in the first year. It is very worth it, but you will have to drive like a little old lady. The app is very sensitive to speeding, hard braking, rolling Stop signs and high speed turns. Hey, for an additional $1,300 in my pocket a year, I can take it nice and easy.
