I realy like this simple style, you can even leave it basically as it is and it could fit the game without recoloring if connected with fitting environment. From my side - I find it the hardest to animate diagonal movements like S-E / N-E directions

I don't want to be "that" guy but an MVP isn't a "most viable product". What they described to you is called a "minimum viable product". If you think about it, they're kind of opposites.

I'm all in with embracing limitations. I believe it helps breath creativity into parts of a project you wouldn't of otherwise have paid much attention to. It's also easier to attain goals! I have a devlog where I'm embracing a gameboy style asthetic as my limitations. :)

100% agree with this. It's easy to have a scope far greater than you can acheive and add game features which don't improve the overall impact of the game. Game dev maturity is where you know when to stop and pull back. Game jams are golden because it forces you to have a smaller scope.

I like the art style, it's special ! Maybe the bushes should pay more attention to the whole rather than focusing on individual trees. But still pretty good , i will keep following!
