Artist, musician, author, videographer, nature documenter and world traveler. For the past 3 decades I have produced videos for use in my art installations and to support talks on many diverse topics. Many have no narration and the viewer is drawn to incorporate their own experience. Some shift the mind into an alpha state triggering many memories. All feature original music, recorded in improvised sessions with my forever friends: Mike Baran, Rocco Baviera, Walter Pick and Joe Steduto, sometimes with special guests. Yaoli ancient town in Jiangxi province, China
About an hour from Jingdezhen, is the ancient river town of Yaoli, an absolute pleasure to walk around. I spent 3 days there this past spring exploring the streets and alleyways. I met a few dogs and one showed me around the maze of back lanes. Sit back and enjoy this walking tour set to music I composed while there.

Fuliang art in the field

To stimulate tourism in rural areas, art installations are being commissioned and located in the landscapes of tea plantations. Located in the countryside outside of Jingdezhen, this cedar pole assemblage fits perfectly into a dip in the landscape. Throughout China these modified landscapes have taken shape over hundreds of years of tea cultivation. It is breathtaking to see well placed artwork...

Up river from Jingdezhen are historic villages which supplied the kaolin for the porcelain. Dongbu had loading docks and one can still see the cart marks down the narrow lanes in the ancient town. Sanbao Village China: Developed by artist Jackson Lee and managed by his sister Wendy, this amazing complex grew from the ground up into a wonderful hodgepodge of buildings and studios which can be rented by artists and guests alike. The restaurant is superb and one of my favorite places to eat. One of the few places you can hear traditional water hammers at work pounding the kaolin into powder...

Ancient Tipon Waterworks

Peaked by my interest in water, I visited Tipon, an Incan site located below a lake which feeds the extensive waterworks and fountains. From above, the channels and fountains resemble a pair of Puma paws with the final spouts being the claws. The water goes on to hydrate the terraces below. I visited an Amaru community up in the mountains above Pisac. After working in the fields for a bit we had a wonderful traditional feast. The women weave amazing Alpaca textiles. They prepare each step from raising the animals to dying the wool. In the fall of 2019, I spent 4 days exploring the site from every view imaginable and the views ARE incredible, the switchback road up is madness. If you go, stay overnight in Aguas Calentes and wake up early to take the 5:00am bus up to the entrance gate and see the clouds rise. If you walk slowly you get some private time. Fish , ?
Hermoso..😮😲
Incredible. This may be far-fetched but i wonder if that water is even safe to drink.
I expect so as it drains from a glacier fed lake far above the site
Wow, and it still operates after all these years later. Amazing
瑶里古镇😊😊😊,游人不是很多,适合安排在旅行计划里。
What is Tipon. Where is Tipon?
Outside of Cusco Peru about 45 minutes into the sacred valley
It is an Incan ruin with working water fountains
Live art, love life
Those beings that created this hydrological system had knowledge far beyond those who claimed this as their own!!!
Beautiful ❤
Nice healthy looking pond! Thanks for sharing.
Nice sauna. Nice buds. Suggestion: Attach a cedar floor made of spaced (1/2" apart) 1x3s screwed into cedar 2x4s (2 feet on center). It becomes a floating floor that is easy on the feet, smells good, and softens the masonry mass of the sauna. You could also make low cedar benches around the perimeter on the inside that are wide enough to lay down on so you don't have to stay sitting up for the whole sauna. It's worth doing if you are in there for several hours at a time. Thanks for showing us your work. Well done.
I normally cut fresh cedar bows and lay them on the floor for the coolness and scent but like your thinking. Check out my Kiva video as we built a bench all around.
Nice Work & Video 👍
What the hell is up with the horrible music👎👎👎👎👎💩💩😬
Yummy?
Yes, very tasty
Years ago I visited my aunt in Montreal and she took me to a store that sold cooked grasshoppers. They were not as good as the ones you’re eating.
That's Beautiful ✝️🇺🇸🙂

Very cool 🧡
I have a weird thing happening to my lily pads. Something? is cutting my lily pads at the stem and I'm finding loose lily pads drifting in the pond. Do you have any idea who or what is doing this? The stem looks cut, could this be a snapping turtle?
Yes, likely a snapper, they do it on my pond, not sure if they eat the tuber roots or forage for things near them?
Such a beautiful and tranquil village. Thanks for sharing
Try 120 rocks and 10 gallons of water
Why? Sounds like a pissing contest to me.
An ancient artist’s environment. It’s good to see you Paul. Welcome home.

How is holding up?
Floods in winter then I drain in in March. All good
Thanks for the union of nations. Yet we have Counties further dividing themselves. May the great spirit within help us all. How we can all process the ongoing anger, the appropriate spider web.
By participating in ceremony, but doing sweats, by love and kindness
Your comment on water/nature and creativity is so true. I have countless videos of water that I’ve taken because water is endlessly captivating and enchanting. And that piano….is it still played? I’d love to know the name of the music playing in the background. I’m glad there are people who commission your fascinating creativity.
The piano is being played on occasion. The music in the soundtrack is produced generatively by a program Brian Eno designed. Any notes played on the iPad feed into loops and plays in the background to lessen the sounds of harddrives and the water trickling in the living wall.
His was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 🥹🙏❤⚡️🦅
Beautiful exhibition with many lovely and thought provoking pieces Congratulations Barbara

Nice work. Like the stones/blast furnace
Simple but it works great. Charges the whole space within an hour with great heat

That soundtrack is amazing!
I try to match the visual mood and edit to the music which I select once I have viewed the clips.

Hi Paul, Can you recommend a source for a building schematic for this particular sweat lodge? This design seems to be very efficient. Thanks!
Hey Zeth I was influenced by African and Mexican waddle and daub construction techniques. A friend in the film industry suggested that I make the structure on a concrete pad. I began by digging down thru the sod and laying some gravel then digging post holes for 12 upright logs in an 8’ diameter circle. Pouring a concrete floor tying them together. Then wrap chicken wire cage on the outside and inside of those uprights. I then filled those cavities with river stones ( many had fossils in them) it took hundreds of stones as the chicken wire frame was about 6”. Next I made a mixture of Portland concrete, sand and peatmoss mixing to a thick firm slop which I packed into the walls by hand to fill all cavities around upright poles, wire cage and stones. I left the hand and finger marks as it added a nice organic texture. Originally it had a “ durroc covered satellite disc as a roof but a tree landed on it and I replaced it with the cedar one shown in video. I finished the interior with a high temp paint and baked it a few time to remove off gassing. It has not deteriorated much in the 16 years it has been in service. Take an hour to charge up walls but gets very hot. Hope this helps
Beautiful!
Y'all come back now.... ya hear??

Big Bill had a big voice. He took me thru his dreaming land for 3 days. Goodtimes
@@paulmorinstudios9510 I'll bet it was mate, I'm in Perth and my daughter is of the yamatji tribe from mid north west Australia Gascoyne region, the connection with the land allure me to no end. I must go walkabout one day. Did Bill or any other elders tell you how one does a walkabout without getting I to trouble with the land spirits?
@@WarriorofChrist87 no such luck re walkabout. Often when I travel I go alone to better experience the uniqueness of the land I am exploring. I live in the Canada in a rural area north of Toronto and have many indigenous friends. Here the Ojibway had something like songlines. When on walkabout the would carry the songs of the lands they traversed. Sharing and adding to the songs along the way. Very much like the songlines in Auz
