Rockschool ‘ funkometer’ with improvised solo .
Переглядів 513 місяці тому
Great rockschool piece . Grade 4 , but with the added solo , definitely puts it up a few grades . Wrote this out for a few students . Didn’t anticipate the move from the solo exit back to the main riff on fret 8 ! Anyone needs a copy of the solo - then drop me a message .

As a guitar teacher , I’m having to remember a shed load of guitar riffs to teach students . Here is a clip of me in no particular order playing whatever pops into my head over 5 minutes ! See if you can spot them

Absolutely breathtaking stuff man. I discovered this video in like 2018, still keep coming back to it, so freaking good.
@@ayhamshaheed1194 thanks for the comments and support . They mean a lot . I honestly had no idea this video would have the impact it did . I’m sure it’s cheap IKEA £25 CSI looking tent as a wardrobe in the background
Sensacional, que improviso!
Thankyou very much :)
Bravo 🎉
God 🎉
That’s an overstatement but the sentiment of positivity in that resonates with me! Cheers
How’s Taylan??

Heya, amazing work of course. Are you based in UK and do you teach online? I'd love to join!
Hi there , yes I am . feel free to email me on nickgtrsess@googlemail.com !
man you are really good!
@@arentakaishi710 thanks :))
nice improv! what's the track you were playing over?
Thanks :) it was some Lydian based track off of UA-cam .
Excellent job!! It is more close to Frank Gambale instead Steve Vai... In my opinion.
Thanks - although no way frank gambale ! Gambale is a beast . I can definately play more like vai than gambale . Defo some vai elements but maybe my own style has hints of gambale .
So good! The tapping section was great. Really enjoyed that.
Thanks for the support , glad you liked it ! I’ve been thinking of doing a lesson series so anything you might like to see I will bear in mind
Awesome - deserves way more love (and views)
Hey nick. Nice improv! You have a nice vocabulary of licks and ideas and great command of the fretboard. Keep up the good work!
Hi there Sam . Thanks for the comment and encouragement , it’s greatly appreciated . Learning and playing guitar/ music is a huge part of my life and glad it others see merit in it . Cheers

Mid
Jesus you can definitely play this in a music store
How long have u been playing?
A while :)
massive props! holy crud man.
A few times a year I get here and give it a listen. Very nice work!
AMAZING WORK. SURREAL broo
Nicely done! …although I feel like the other commenter - why didn’t this show up in UA-cam recommendations till now? I thought you did a really good job making your obviously masterful technique serve and create the mood, rather than serve as a substitute. In that respect it brought to mind Phil Keaggy’s approach. I felt like your solo improv was outside the box and it was a great combo of interesting, compelling feel/mood, and technical mastery. Would love to be pointed to resources you’d recommend for how to develop that myself, and any are appreciated. Keep up the good work!
Nice, I need to learn this immediately 😅
wtf this is from 2006
Wn que hermoso ❤
do u sell lessons?
I do online lessons ?
Can't stop listening to 2:55
I wish that this was part of the official song.
Brilliant!
OUT OF THIS WORLD. tabs? Really asking. I'm not that good to get it by ear and I really dig some of your improv ideas
as someone else said, the comparison is unfair as the recording conditions & possibly equipment appear radically different or at least sufficiently different that it's not just the guitars themselves making the difference.
I remember watching this video when it came out, and it never ceases to amaze me. Awesome playing!!
