Very helpful lessons, don't know if it's been pointed out elsewhere but the triad you are refering to as a diminished or something is a actually just an F (or E due to the tuning). The Hellacopters uses this all the time, Action de grace for instance is just an E by barring 9th fret on D, G, B strings, then hammer on ring finger on 11th fret D and middle 10th fret B to play an A. Then move the shapes down two frets to play D and G.
